  5.                       The Interactive Ada Tutor!
  6.  
  7. Software Innovations Technology proudly announces ADA-TUTR, an
  8. interactive tutorial that trains people to be excellent Ada
  9. programmers in minimum time.  When run on an IBM-compatible PC,
  10. ADA-TUTR requires no Ada compiler.  A list of Ada compilers available
  11. for the PC is included, however.  Because the Ada source code is
  12. supplied with the program, ADA-TUTR also runs on other computers with
  13. Ada compilers, such as mainframes and workstations.

  15. Ada is an ideal programming language, because Ada programs tend to
  16. have fewer errors, to be easier to read, and to be much easier to
  17. modify later.  The U.S. Department of Defense mandated the use of Ada
  18. in mission-critical systems (DoD Directive 3405.2, 1987).  The Defense
  19. Appropriations Act of 1991 extends this mandate to all defense
  20. applications software.

  22. Not just a "quiz," ADA-TUTR is a thorough course of interactive
  23. instruction that even checks "homework" assignments.  ADA-TUTR teaches
  24. good program design, not just syntax, so that programs will take
  25. advantage of the features of Ada that make them more reliable and
  26. easier to maintain.  ADA-TUTR was written by John J. Herro, Ph.D., who
  27. taught graduate courses in Ada at the Florida Institute of Technology
  28. and the State University of New York.  He also taught Ada to employees
  29. of General Electric Co., Grumman Aerospace Corp., and Harris Corp.

  31. Individuals, schools, and companies may try ADA-TUTR without charge
  32. (except for a copying fee).  To use ADA-TUTR after a free trial, an
  33. individual registers for a one-time charge of only $25.  Organizations
  34. buy licenses for a one-time charge as follows:

  46. An update of ADA-TUTR is planned with the next revision (9X) of the
  47. Ada language.  Registered and licensed users receive updates on a
  48. 5.25" disk for only $5, or on a 3.5" disk for only $10.

  51. $30 for a registered copy for full use by one individual, with one
