-
- These files may be supplied in archived form, ie. they may be
- compressed into one file, for example: SLD.ZIP
-
- INSTALLATION:
- -------------
- If the files are supplied in an archived form then:
-
- a) if you are installing on a floppy disk:
- 1) make a backup copy of the floppy containing the SLD program.
- 2) with the new floppy in the drive run the unarchive program
- to unarchive the files (eg. PKUNZIP SLD).
-
- b) if you are installing on a hard disk:
- 1) Make a working directory on your hard disk where the
- program files are to be stored, eg. C:\SLD
- 2) Change to this directory and place the disk containing the
- SLD program in the floppy drive.
- 3) run the unarchive program, specifying the floppy drive
- followed by the archive file name, eg. PKUNZIP A:\SLD
-
- If the files are supplied in Un-archived form then:
-
- a) if you are installing on floppy disk:
- 1) make a backup copy of the floppy disk containing the
- files and run the program from this disk.
-
- b) if you are installing on a hard disk:
- 1) Make a working directory on the hard disk where the
- program files are to be stored, eg. C:\SLD.
- 2) Change to this directory and place the disk containing
- the SLD program in the floppy drive.
- 3) use the DOS copy program to copy the files from floppy
- disk into this directory, eg. COPY A:\*.*
-
-
-
- To start SLD, change to the directory containing the SLD prorgam
- and simply type "SLD" at the DOS prompt.
- If you have a monochrome monitor you may prefer to start SLD
- by typing "SLD /M". This will temporarily override the default
- color settings.
-
-
- The user manual:
- Use an editor or wordprocessor to look at the user manual, or,
- if you have Wordperfect, you may run it and look at SLD.WP5.
- You may then print the user manual.
-
- Online help: SLD has full online help facilities.
-
- Updates and more to follow soon!
-
-
-
-
- Note for users of original download of SLD version 1.03:
-
- If you downloaded SLD version 1.03 from Compuserve and you
- experienced one or two problems, which this version (1.03b) has
- fixed, then mail us the README file from your original download
- (not this README file!). That will prove that you downloaded the
- original program. If you do this and send your company or other
- name for registration purposes you will be mailed a registration
- number so that your copy of SLD will be registered for your use.
- This is only valid if you downloaded the original version and
- this is your second download. If this applies to you then you
- will not be expected to pay for registration of version 1.03b,
- but any donations would be useful in continuing the development
- of SLD and other programs.
