Archiving
Archive Run

        AR is a program that is specifically designed to run other programs which are stored inside
    of a .ARC (PKXARC/PKARC) file.  AR allows users to place programs in an archive, which save
    disk space, and run them at will. AR allows users to De-ARC files to specific destinations, and it
    also provide a list of all files contained in the archive file.

ArcMaster
                        Load PGM2502

        ArcMaster, known as AM for short, is an archive program interface control system.  It
    provides a clean interface that removes the burden of remembering all the various command
    line switches and options that may be used with archiving programs.  In addition, AM is a DOS
    shell that provides numerous ways in which the user can maintain and manipulate his or her
    DOS directory and file structures.  A new feature in AM is the ability to create and utilize
    executable program menus.  This feature is activated by Ctrl-X and is based upon the existence
    of an ASCII text file created by the user named PROGMENU.AM.

    System Requirements :  ArcMaster may be operated on any IBM PC or compatible
    running on DOS 2.0 or later.  The amount of DOS RAM required to operate AM will vary
    according the limits established via the active configuration.  All monitor and graphics cards
    are supported.  The printer must be capable of printing IBM line draw characters if the
    directory tree is to be legibly printed.  A 720K or greater disk drive system is recommended;
    however, a hard drive is highly recommended.

Arj Archiver
                        Load PGM2503

        ARJ is a archive program that has an option to create multiple volume archives with one
    command.  This is useful for making backups to multiple floppies or archiving a very large file
    to several floppies without "SLICE"ing.  ARJ can also do multiple string searching and context
    display within archives.  It provides an archive security envelop to resist tampering, and has a
    MS-DOS code page language support for casing of filenames and text.

    REARJ is an archive conversion program designed to facilitate the conversion of LZH, ZIP,
    PAK, ARC, DWC, HYP, LZS, and ZOO archives to the ARJ format.  In addition, this converter
    has been designed to convert to any of the aforementioned archive formats.

AtoZ
                        Load PGM2504

        ATOZ is a program designed for MS-DOS to convert archives in other formats into ZOO
    format.  For each source archive to be converted, ATOZ first invokes an external program (e.g.
    PKXARC.COM, ARCE.COM, or LUE.COM) to extract files from the source archive.  Then it
    invokes Zoo to create a Zoo archive from the extracted files.  ATOZ has a built-in safeguards
    which provides the users control over the progress with creation of a Zoo archive after files
    have been extracted from each source archive.  ATOZ also provides the option of continue
    without permission for unattended conversion.  The integrity of each Zoo archive can be tested
    by invoking Zoo to extract all files from it.

DStuff
                        Load PGM2505

        DStuff package is designed to gather and display the most needed information from
    five common DOS file types as quickly as possible. The file types currently supported are;
    the DOS "DIR" command, SEA "ARC" archive files, Ashton-Tate dBase (III, III+, IV) "DBF"
    database files, LH "ICE" compressed files, and PKWare "ZIP" compressed files.  D will     display
    any DOS directory in a paged format.  DARCEXE displays the internal directory of the
    members in a SEA "ARC" file.  DDBASE will display the structure information of any valid
    BASE     III or DBase III+ ".DBF" File.  DICE displays the internal directory of the members in a
    LH "ICE" file.  DZIP displays the internal directory of the members in a PKWare "ZIP" file.
    SCRNPRT has been included in the DStuff package to allow re-direction of printer output to
    a file.

    System Requirements :  The programs in the DStuff package require DOS 3.0 or later,
    256kB RAM.  An EGA, or VGA video system is recommended but not required.

File Archive
                        Load PGM2506

        File/Archive is a program specifically designed to transfer files systematically and
    automatically from hard disk to diskettes in order to save space on the hard disk.  It will
    periodically scan files based on criteria the user previously established and keep track of all
    process.  File/Archive will provide the information of where the files was stored when the user
    needs to retrieve the files.  The File/Archive will also scan the disks for virus everytime the user
    starts the program from the drive and directory where the program resides.

    System Requirements :  File/Archive operates on IBM personal computers and on IBM
    compatible computers. It requires DOS version 2.1 or later, 256kB of RAM, and a hard disk is
    recommended.  A printer is optional.

Flexibak Plus
                        Load PGM2507

        FLEXIBAK Plus is a program that allows users to do periodical hard disk backup and file
    compression.  The selective backups allow users to specify the file groups to be backup and
    incremental backups are placed on the same disks as the full backup.  Therefore, only one full
    backup is required.  The file management system keeps track of all process and informs users
    of files missing since last backup to prevent accidents.  An alarm system warns the users on
    booting the computer if backups were not made over a period of time.

LHArc
                        Load PGM2508

        LHA is a dual purpose archive program.  Its primary purpose is to take normal binary or
    text files and make them smaller in size, usually a quarter to a third of their orignial sizes.  The
    secondary purpose is "archive", to take more than one of these programs and include them
    in just one file, although each will have its own individual name inside that file.

    LZHC is a program designed to convert all files with the extenstions  .PAK, .ARC, or .ZIP to
    .LZH. It will also create the log file "LZHC.LOG".

    LZIP is designed to process a directory containing ZIP files, or mixed ZIP and ARC files.  The
    program takes each input file, in ARC or ZIP format, and see if the optimized reduction will
    create a smaller overall file.

LZE
                        Load PGM2509

        LZEXE is a program utility that compresses EXE files, namely executable files to
    almost     the the size of their ZIPped counterparts.  The compressed files can be run directly
    and the     decompression time is negligible.  No extra space on disk or in RAM is neccessary.

        COMOTEXE is a program designed to convert a COM (or BIN) file into an EXE file.  It
    is a complement of LZEXE.  UPACKEXE.EXE is a program designed to unpack an EXE file
    packed with the     Microsoft     EXEPACK, so it can be compressed with LZEXE.      EXE2COM is
    identical to DOS's EXE2BIN except that the output file extension defaults     to COM     rather than
    BIN.  LZESHELL is a program designed to automate the use of LZEXE and UPACK.E                XE.

    System Requirements :  PC and compatibles.  80286 or 80386 microprocessors are
    recommended  for greater execution speed.  A minimum of 128kB RAM memory is required.

Mass Store Copy
                        Load PGM2510

        MASS-STORE COPY is a program designed to make copies of optical disks with only
    one optical drive.  The program will compress the files as they are copied onto the hard drive
    and uncompress when they are copied onto backup disk.  Files that are larger than the hard
    drive can be copied regardless of available space on the hard drive.  Mass-Store Copy can
    also copy any DOS compatible removable disk while using only one drive.  Drives supported
    by MASS-STORE COPY are:  Bernoulli Box Drives, WORM Drives, Eraseable Optical Drives,
    5.25, 3.5, "Super" Floppy Drives and Removable Hard Drive Packs.

Noah's Ark

        NOAH'S ARK is designed to maximize directory control when using PKZIP.  NOAH can
    tag multiple files and pass standard PKZIP commands through a .BAT file named NOATMP
    .BAT, or it can pass any command line specified.

    System Requirements : NOAH'S ARK requires DOS 3.0 or later with PKPAK/PKUNPAK
    or PKZIP/PKUNZIP, and 256kB RAM memory.  Color monitor and a Hard Drive is
    recommanded.

Offload

        OFFLOAD is a program designed to move files from a hard disk to diskette media.  It
    also compresses the files as they are moved to diskettes.  OFFLOAD provides a simple,
    point-    and-shoot procedure for locating an archived file and moving it back onto the hard
    disk when necessa        ry.

    System Requirements :  OFFLOAD operates on IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2 and IBM

    useful copying features.  First, DCOPY will pause when a floppy disk becomes full and will
    allow the user to change media.  If the new floppy must be formatted, DCOPY can automatically

DirectMaint

        The DIRECTMAINT package consists of a full function disk directory and file
    maintenance system comprised of three programs - DIRECTMAINT I, DIRECTMAINT II,
    and FILE PATCH.

        DIRECTMAINT I provides a directory/file view of a disk showing, with a formatted
    display, all     the sub-directories and files for a specific directory.  Using the display and "point
    and shoot"     highlighted bounce bar menus, directories and files may be selected for various
    processing     functions - copy, move, compare, erase, print, search, display, etc.

        DIRECTMAINT II is similar to DIRECTMAINT I except that it provides a full view of
    all files on     one or more disks.  The information (name, path, size, date, time, and attribute) for
    each of the files is read into memory and displayed using a formatted screen.  The
    information may then     be sorted in either ascending or descending sequence.

        FILE PATCH is a comprehensive file manipulation program which provides the ability
    to view,     modify, extract, and/or create any DOS data or program file of up to ten megabytes
    in either     ASCII or hex.

    System Requirements :  The DIRECTMAINT programs require an IBM PC or compatible
    running MS-DOS version 2.0 or later, with at least 380kB of free memory.  Only hard drive
    based systems may be used.  Optional printer support is available.

Directory File Manager

        DIRECTORY FILE MANAGER (DFM) is a powerful user interface that provides an
    effective alternative to the standard command-line driven interface of MS-DOS.  DFM provides
    easy to remember single keystroke functions for the most common file maintenance
    operations     (editing, copying, renaming, printing, and deleting), and provides convenient
    features that cannot be found in many similar directory management tools.  In addition, users
    can now include an English description with a file, and DFM will maintain the association of file
    and description even if the file is copied or if its name is changed.

Directory Master

Disk Navigator

    It displays all files on a user specified disk (or multiple disks) using several attractive formats.
    From within the DNAV shell, files may be grouped or individually specified for copying,
    moving, and erasing purposes.  Individual files may be marked for browsing or renaming.
    The program's "submit" facility permits commands and filenames to be simply transferred to
    a command line for execution through DOS.      Context sensitive help screens and pop-up
    windows add to the program's ease of use.

    System Requirements :  DNAV requires an IBM PC or compatible system with at least
    98kB of free memory, running MS-DOS version 2.0 or later.  The program is mainly designed
    to aid hard disk users, but it should have some appeal to those with floppy disk systems.

DiskDupe
                            Load PGM2263

        DISKDUPE is a fast and versatile disk duplication (and format) utility program.  It employs
    advanced DMA techniques to make a hard disk image of a floppy disk source, which it then
    copies to a destination disk without slowing down.  For a normal 360kB floppy, the copy time is
    less than 58 seconds;  in the case of pre-formatted disks, DISKDUPE requires less than 26
    seconds.      The use of hard disk image files also permits users to make multiple copies a single
    source,     thus saving a great deal of valuable time.

    System Requirements :  DISKDUPE requires 640kB of RAM to run efficiently.  With 640kB
    of RAM, DISKDUPE will store the entire disk image of a 360kB disk in memory.  If less memory
    is installed or if higher density disks are being copied, DISKDUPE will buffer the rest of the disk
    image to the hard disk.  This hard disk buffering does not affect copy speed.

DOSamatic
                        Load PGM2264

        DOSAMATIC is a powerful DOS shell tool that helps users get the most out of their IBM
    PC or compatible system.  It combines a Macintosh-like user interface that uses "point and
    press" to perform useful actions, with a powerful multi-tasking facility which lets users run

    status and information display and Lotus style menus add to make     DUP extremely easy to use.

DX DOS

        The DX DOS utility program consists of a very powerful disk and file management tool.
    Originally designed as a simple two column directory display program, DX has evolved to
    included  enhanced versions of the DOS commands copy, append, compare, move, delete,
    and rename, as well as many useful commands not available with traditional DOS.  In addition,
    DX features a powerful and versatile file-matching engine -  any number of wildcard characters,
    with additional characters between and after wildcards, may be used in specification patterns
    to include and exclude files;  and files may be selected or excluded based on file attributes,
    sizes, and creation date and time ranges.

    PC-DOS versions 2.x or later, with about 88kB of free memory.  Either a color or monochrome
    display monitor may be used.

EdiCom-12

FileViewer

    FLIST/PC may be used.  The advantage is that when files are processed using such
    commands as copy, erase, move, etc., users need not type in full path and filenames.
    FLIST/PC     simplifies the above file processing to the task of specifying a desired action and
    an appropriate     filename through its friendly user-interface.      In addition, FLIST/PC can be
    customized to     associate files with their application programs, m    aking it unnecessary to exit
    FLIST/PC in order     to invoke a word processor, editor, or any other p    rogram.

    System Requirements :  FLIST/PC operates on any IBM PC/XT or 100% compatible
    machine running PC/MS-DOS version 2.00 or later.  IST/PC requires a minimum of 96kB of
    RAM.

Hard Disk Director

        The HARD DISK DIRECTOR utility package was designed as a hard disk and file
    management program complete with hard disk menuing capabilities.  HARD DISK DIRECTOR
    consists of the following four programs :  "dl.exe," "db.exe," "da.exe," and "dm.exe."  "dl.exe"
    is a full-featured DOS shell utility.  From within the program's directory tree, users may add,
    delete,     move, hide and unhide, and rename directories, as well as change drives, search for
    files, print     copies of the tree, and move or copy whole branches of directories.  By specifying
    any directory, "dl.exe" will produce a sorted list of the files for that directory, and will permit
    users to     edit, view, copy, rename, print, and resort any individual file or group of marked files
    from that     directory.

        "db.exe" is a stripped down version of the "dl.exe" program.      The "db.exe" program
    gives users sorted file listings for any single directory.  Pathnames, file     specifications, and
    sort parameters can be added to the command line.

        "da.exe" displays all files from a specified disk drive(s).      The program is most useful for
    keeping track of files - it can write ASCII, ASCII Delimited, and     DBF files     of a file listing.      "da.exe"
    can be run from the command line or from the "dl.exe" program.

        "dm.exe" is a full-featured hard disk menuing system.  Up to 20 main menu entries and
    an unlimited number of 20-entry sub-menus allow users to quickly and easily run any
    application     from their hard disk.

    System Requirements :  HARD DISK DIRECTOR requires an IBM PC or compatible
    running MS-DOS version 2.0 or later.  A memory requirement of 300kB free RAM is limited by
    the "da.exe" program, with the other programs requiring somewhat less memory to run.

IDCShell

        The IDCSHELL program package consists of a complete DOS shell and zipfile
    archiving     utility.  From an informative opening "files screen," users may display the contents
    of the current     directory using a variety of different sorting techniques.      Functions which may

P-CEM
                        Load PGM2281

        P-CEM is a DOS shell utility which was designed to simplify the usage of the MS-DOS
    command line.  Using P-CEM, users can perform most of the more popular DOS functions
    through a user friendly environment.  Hence, the program can be quite helpful with file and
    directory management tasks.  By pressing a few keystrokes, DOS operations, such as copy,
    delete, execute, view, encrypt, print, etc., may be performed on individual or groups of files.

    System Requirements :  P-CEM requires an IBM PC, PC/XT, or PC compatible, with a
    minimum of 128kB of memory, and running MS-DOS version 2.0 or later.  At least one floppy
    disk drive is necessary.  Color Graphics Adapter (CGA), Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA),
    or Monochrome displays are all supported.

PCopy
                        Load PGM2283

        The PCOPY program was designed as a superior replacement for the MS-DOS
    "copy"     function.  PCOPY provides a variety of intelligent file selection and processing options
    that are     not available with the standard "copy" command.  Thus, in performing sophisticated
    disk maintenance tasks, where perhaps several calls to "copy" were necessary before, a
    single     PCOPY command is more than sufficient.  In addition, PCOPY provides safer file
    duplication     routines - it will never accidentally overlay a file.

    PMOVE, an option of the PCOPY command, is used to move files between disks and
    directories.  PMOVE combines the functions of the DOS "copy" and "delete" commands in
    order to simplify the process of moving files.  In addition to just moving files, PMOVE also
    allows     selection criteria to be specified to better qualify the files to be moved.

Playback

        The PLAYBACK package is a keystroke capture utility program.  When activated,
    PLAYBACK records a specified keystroke sequence, including any delays between
    keystrokes, and allows the resulting recording to be played back in a variety of useful ways.
    Recordings may be played back through the use of a hotkey sequence, thereby performing
    the function of a keystroke expander.  PLAYBACK can also convert keystroke captures into a
    format similar to a batch file - keystroke replay is thus as simple as entering a filename at the
    DOS command prompt.  An included menuing program can easily execute PLAYBACK
    keystrokes using a point and select menu.  This menu program also permits users to view the
    contents of PLAYBACK batch files, delete, change playback speed, add explanatory notes,
    rename, and launch them at some later time.

Point & Shoot

        The POINT & SHOOT program addresses two of the most important needs of hard disk
    computer users - program execution and file/directory management.  POINT & SHOOT
    features a hard disk menuing facility, capable of controlling 300 user-defined menu entries.  A
    sorted disk directory display allows for convenient copy, delete, rename, format, locate, sort,
    edit, and print functions.  In addition, POINT & SHOOT includes pop-up calculator and calendar

    features over 40 commands which provide users with the ability to create professional screen
    displays using boxes, colors, direct cursor positioning, and keyboard input capability, thereby
    permitting batch programs to validate drives, directories, files, and paths before attempting
    to copy or use data.

Scout

        SCOUT is a memory resident disk/directory/file manager and DOS shell that may be
    invoked either from the DOS command level or from within an active application program.
    Thus, while busy at work in an application program, a user can quickly call SCOUT into action
    to perform some disk housekeeping chores and can return to productive work with a minimal
    interruption.  These housekeeping chores include copying, moving, renaming, and deleting
    files, and a whole host of other functions.  For those users who need to conserve their standard

"SLIC" Works, The

    understand Hewlett Packard's Printer Command Language (PCL).  Files can be printed in any
    of a variety of ways - two normal pages can be printed on one page in a "2up" fashion;  both
    sides of the paper can be used, thus greatly reducing the size of a program listing or report
    printout;  the size of a document can be reduced to one-fourth of its original size;  pamphlet style
    printing allows printed pages to be folded in half and stapled together, creating a very compact
    and manageable document.  In addition, 2FACED can use gray bars to help group lines of text
    or to give a classical green bar look.  Further, filename and page numbers can be printed at
    the top or bottom of the pages.  And of course only selected pages of a document need be
    printed, without having to reprint the entire document.

    DeskJet printers, 4PRINT can print two or three fully readable pages of text on each sheet of
    paper.  In addition, 4PRINT can be configured to print on both sides of a page, thus yielding
    four, six, or even more pages of text on each sheet.  4PRINT is perfect for program listings,
    document files, wide spreadsheets, and database reports.

    System Requirements :  4PRINT requires 200kB of free memory, MS-DOS version 2.0

AutoPrinter / Plotter

Badge-O-Magic

        The BADGE-O-MAGIC utility program is a "dbase" compatible, badge and nametag
    generator.      Using any "dbase III" or "dbase IV" database (included in software package), the

    included with the program.  Each badge is three by four inches, with six badges being printed
    on each 8-1/2 x 11 inch page.  The BADGE-O-MAGIC program also includes all the
    necessary software to download the soft fonts to a laser printer and to print a perforation

BitFont

        The BITFONT package consists of a program which can be used to design or modify
    fonts of bit-mapped characters.  Using a configuration file as a template, font files for a wide
    variety of printers and graphics programs can be read in, modified by BITFONT, and then
    written out to a new file.  BITFONT itself has graphics capabilities to display characters with
    either discrete or overlapping dots, and it includes many menu-driven functions which can be
    used to quickly modify entire fonts.

Booklet

        BOOKLET is a printer utility program which formats printable text files to allow double
    sided page printing.  User-specified text files are divided into even-page and odd-page files.
    The even-page and odd-page files can then be printed back-to-back to form double-sided
    pages.  This type of document printing has many advantages over the normal fan fold format.
    In particular, this printing technique cuts your paper use in half, thereby saving natural
    resources and money.  And of course documents printed on both sides of a paper take up
    only half the original storage space.

        The BOOKLET package consists of a laser printer utility program (also works on

    sized Booklet, or it can print the pages in sequential order for insertion into a ring binder.  Full

BothSides

        The BOTHSIDES printer utility program allows users to format text files of any pagination
    method so that double-sided page printing can be performed.  When BOTHSIDES sends a
    specified file to a printer, it first prints the odd numbered pages, then stops to allow the user to
    turn the paper over before continuing to print the even numbered pages.  BOTHSIDES can
    also format standard text files by paginating them and printing a footer containing a title line and
    a page number at the bottom of every page.

Bradford

        The BRADFORD printer utility program prints high quality WordStar and ASCII text files.
    The program features a large variety of fonts (typestyles) and a rich collection of command
    line options.  Users can specify underline, boldface, margin format, line spacing, etc. to control
    document appearance.

    MX-80, Epson FX-80, Star Gemini-10x, and all compatibles.

Citizen
                        Load PGM2180

        The CITIZEN printer program package consists of a menu-driven utility which allows
    users to control font usage on Citizen MSP or Citizen Tribute printers.  Depending upon which
    printer is selected, a number of pitch sizes are available to be used with a variety of different
    print attributes, including proportional print, reversed print, italics, superscript, subscript,
    vertically enlarged, eight lines per inch, near letter quality, etc.  In addition, CITIZEN can print
    small text files and can print envelop addresses.

CR8CMD
                        Load PGM2226

        The CR8CMD package is a useful utility program specifically designed for the
    Panasonic KX-1091 printer.  Although this printer is compatible with the Epson RX/FX series
    of printers, CR8CMD creates a mode and options command sequence that allows users to
    access a number of features that are specifically available only in the Panasonic KX-1091.

        LISTASC is designed to list BASIC files saved with an .ASC or .BAS extension in
    ASCII format.  The program will format the ASCII statements to a "paragraph" form using
    either standard or compressed font;  line overflow is indented to provide easy reading.
    The program prints 55 lines of text per page, including a filename heading, page number, file
    creation date and time stamp, and current date of printing.  The listing allows for hole
    punching without interferring with source code statements.

    System Requirements :  The package requires an IBM PC or compatible system     running PC-DOS
    or MS-DOS version 1.1 (2.0 or later preferred) with 64kB of free memory.  A     single sided/dual density
    disk drive is also required.  Color graphics display is not needed.

Dear Teacher
                        Load PGM2240

        The DEAR TEACHER font package contains a proportional-pitch portrait orientation
    font designed for use in laser printers compatible with the Hewlitt Packard LaserJet II.  DEAR
    TEACHER is an approximately 27x21 font, with a separate eight rows for descenders;  thus
    the font occupies a 35x21 cell of pixels.  The DEAR TEACHER character set consists of the
    printable subset of ASCII characters, except for values which represent lower case letters
    (actually will print as upper case).  The size of the resulting font is appropriate for printing
    7.5 lines per inch, with approximately 84 characters (maximum) per line.

DeskJet Soft Fonts
                        Load PGM2181

        The SHAREWARE DESKJET SOFT FONT PACKAGE contains a number of soft fonts
    for use with Hewlett Packard's DeskJet and DeskJet Plus printers.  Also included are some
    useful utility programs and printer drivers for :  Word Perfect 5.0/5.1, Microsoft Word 5.0/5.5,
    Microsoft Works, and PC Write 3.0X.

    System Requirements :  The soft fonts may not be used unless a RAM cartridge is     installed in the
    DeskJet printer.  RAM cartridges do not come with the DeskJet - they can be     purchased as an
    extra cost option.  DeskJet owners should purchase the 128kB RAM cartridge,     while DeskJet Plus
    owners should obtain the 256kB RAM cartridge.

Disk Spool II
                        Load PGM2182

        DISK SPOOL II is a program that fundamentally speeds up the manner in which printing
    takes place on a computer.  Without DISK SPOOL II, whenever an application prints
    information, the computer sends it directly to the printer, thereby decreasing an application's
    execution speed.  With DISK SPOOL II, applications do not have to contend directly with the
    printer.  The program sits in the background and intercepts any printer data, re-routing it to a
    disk file.  With the data safely on disk, and while the user is busy performing other tasks, DISK
    SPOOL II works behind the scenes to send the data from the disk file to the printer.

DMP
                        Load PGM2183

        The DMP program package consists of a general purpose printer controller utility
    which includes a very versatile spooling capability.  DMP is a true spooler in that it saves
    printer output to non-system memory or to disk as needed, instead of removing a large buffer
    from system memory.  Some of DMP's major features are :  print to disk file option;  support
    for serial port printers;  spooling to any DOS-recognized disk;  spooling to all common types
    of memory;  selectable internal buffer size or system memory usage;  ability to drive a wide
    range of printers at full speed.

    System Requirements :  DMP works on IBM PC/XT/AT, PS/2, and most compatibles,
    running under PC-DOS or MS-DOS versions 2.0 through 3.3.  DMP is a memory resident
    program which uses approximately 13kB of system memory.

DMPLas
                        Load PGM2184

        The DMPLAS package consists of a useful printer utility which allows use of laser
    printers on software originally designed for dot matrix printers.  Specifically, DMPLAS
    converts dot matrix control characters and escape sequences to the equivalent printer
    control commands used by Hewlett Packard LaserJet compatible printers.

    System Requirements :  DMPLAS will run on any computer system that operates     using DOS
    version 2.x or later.

DocSmash
                        Load PGM2185

        Have you ever downloaded a complicated program that came with its own manual
    and, when you printed the manual, you ended up using what seems like your whole box of
    paper to get hard copy?  If you have this problem, then DOCSMASH is for you!  It will print a
    normal 100 page document on a maximum 25 sheets of paper.  You do not lose any text, but
    you may need glasses to read it.  Anyway, it is good at what it does.

        The DOCSMASH program was designed to reduce the size of the printed output for
    any ASCII text or document file.  It uses "Epson" printer control codes to reduce print size and
    to adjust line width to enable the printer to place four pages of normal documentation on a
    single sheet of paper.  DOCSMASH is ideal for those users who are continually downloading
    complicated programs along with their 100-page manuals.

        The DOWNLOAD package consists of a printer utility program that manages the
    process of downloading soft fonts to an HP LaserJet, DeskJet, or compatible printer.
    Additionally, DOWNLOAD can select fonts as they are being sent.  The user has optional
    control over the soft font ID number, whether the font is permanent or temporary, and whether
    it is a primary or secondary font.  A list of fonts may be sent to the printer by specifying the
    individual fonts names in an ASCII text file.  All fonts resident in the printer may be optionally
    deleted before new fonts are downloaded, or the printer can be reset.

    System Requirements :  DOWNLOAD requires a minimum of 128kB of memory, a     Hewlett Packard
    LaserJet, DeskJet, or compatible printer, and a supportable parallel port     (LPT1:, LPT2:, or LPT3:).

Epset

        The EPSET program package consists of a collection of Epson printer utilities
    designed to easily allow users to set the characteristics of their Epson printer.  EPSET is a
    batch-file based system which can easily be called upon at the DOS-system prompt.  The
    following is a partial list of functions :

    RESET.BAT            Sets default printer settings.
    6LPI.BAT            Sets 6 lines per inch.
    2STRIKE.BAT            Set double-strike printing.
    CONDENSE.BAT            Sets condensed mode.
    ITALIC.BAT            Sets italics.
    UNDRLINE.BAT            Sets underline.
    LINEFEED.BAT            Sends a line feed.

        In addition, EPSET includes the "esc.com" file which allows users to send Escape
    character sequences to the printer.

    System Requirements :  EPSET will work with almost all Epson printers, including the     MX, LX, and
    FX series.  Other Epson printers will support at least a majority of EPSET's     functions.

Fontastic
                        Load PGM2190

        The FONTASTIC utility package consists of three main programs which aid in the
    design and creation of soft font character sets.          IHSPRINT reads soft font files which have
    been previously created through the use of     an editor or word processor and prints them on
    a printer, causing special fonts and special     effects to be generated.  IHSFONT allows the
    editing of old fonts so that new ones may be created.          IHSUTIL moves groups of characters
    from within a given font set into second font set.

FXMaster
                        Load PGM2192

        The FXMASTER package consists of a completely menu-driven Epson printer control
    utility program.  FXMASTER allows users of Epson FX-Series dot matrix printers to do the
    following :  select any of the 160+ Epson FX-series character fonts;  issue printer resets,
    linefeeds, or form-feeds;  variably set margins, line spacings, and form lengths;  use
    international character sets;  toggle on and off the printer's sheet-feeder, paper-out sensor,
    typewriter mode, and quiet (half-speed) mode.  In addition, users may execute many of these
    control functions through batch files from the DOS command line.

FXMatrix
                        Load PGM2193

        The FXMATRIX program package consists of a collection of soft font development and
    creation and usage utilities designed for use on Epson FX/JX Series dot matrix printers.  The
    main "fxmatrix.com" file is a matrix program that permits users to design their own character set,
    save them to a file, and download them to an appropriate printer.  The "fx.com" file
    automatically downloads a designated character file.  Accompanying these programs is the
    "alpha.fxf" file that contains the default ASCII character set.

FXPrtSc
                        Load PGM2191

        The FXPRTSC package was designed to provide a much faster version of the DOS
    print-screen function for users of the Epson FX-Series printers.  The memory-resident
    "fxprtsc.com" program accomplishes this by intercepting the DOS print-screen call and
    scanning off the trailing spaces of the received printer dump.  Also included with the package
    is the "prtsc.com" program which enables users to produce command-driven print-screens.

Ghostscript
                        Load PGM2194

        GHOSTSCRIPT is a collection of software that provides an interpreter for the
    "Ghostscript" language, which very closely resembles the PostScript (TM) printer language.
    Also included are a set of C-language procedures (the Ghostscript library) that implement the
    graphics capabilities that appear as primitive operations in the Ghostscript language.

    System Requirements :  The GHOSTSCRPT package requires an IBM PC or     compatible system
    running under MS-DOS version 3.1 or later.  EGA (Enhanced Graphics     Adapter) or compatible

GIFtoPS

        The GIFTOPS utility program was designed to convert GIF image files to a PostScript
    compatible format.  A rich variety of command line options allow users to :  generate output
    as an EPSF (Encapsulated PostScript File) format file;  reposition the image to a landscape
    format;  alternate halftone placement; specify the number of copies to be generate;  define the
    width and height of the printed page.  Use of the DOS redirection command allows for direct
    print out of the GIF image.

ImagePrint

    produce high quality printing on a standard IBM, Epson, or compatible dot matrix printer.

    IMAGEPRINT supports the use of escape sequence attributes, such as 10/12 cpi, bold,
    underline, double width, and compressed.

    System Requirements :  IMAGEPRINT works with any IBM PC, PC-XT, PC-AT, PCJr,     PS/2, and
    true compatibles or clones, running under PC-DOS or MS-DOS versions 2.0 and     later.

JetPilot

        The JETPILOT program is a Hewlett Packard LaserJet printer control utility. With
    JETPILOT, users can control virtually every aspect of their LaserJet printers.  The program
    can change page settings such as paper size, orientation, and margins; font characteristics
    such as typeface, pitch, height, and style may be altered.  These user-defined JETPILOT
    settings may subsequently be saved to a configuration file, which can be later loaded to
    restore the LaserJet to personalized tastes.  In addition, JETPILOT can print envelopes
    using addresses imported straight off the display screen.  For convenience, JETPILOT may
    be installed in memory as a TSR (Terminate Stay Resident) program or run from DOS as a
    stand-alone program.

        The SHAREWARE EUROPEAN LASERJET SOFT FONT PACKAGE consists of a
    number of startup utilities for the usage of soft fonts on Hewlett Packard LaserJet and
    compatible printers.  The package contains the following programs :  twelve soft fonts for the
    HP LaserJet, that all contain the full PC-850 symbol set (covers most countries in Europe);
    printer drivers and usage instructions for Word Perfect 5.0/5.1 and Microsoft Word 5.0;
    instructions for using these fonts with Microsoft Windows.  Also included are three soft font
    utility programs, DOWNLOAD, FONTINFO, and DISPFONT.

Letterhead Generator

        The LETTERHEAD GENERATOR utility program provides users with the ability to
    design and print custom letterheads, envelopes, index cards, and labels.  The design can
    include a company logo and address information.  The LETTERHEAD GENERATOR
    provides a simple method for designing a logo pattern using a built-in logo editor utility, or a
    logo may be imported from a word processing application or a notepad facility such as
    Sidekick.

    System Requirements:  Required hardware includes an Epson FX, IBM, or close     compatible
    printer.  A graphics display is useful for displaying the logo on the screen;  this is     especially helpful
    during the design  process.  The program supports the use of Hercules,     CGA, VGA, and EGA
    graphic displays.

LJ2DJ

        The LJ2DJ utility program converts Hewlett Packard LaserJet compatible soft fonts
    into a format usable by DeskJet printers.

LJBook

        The LJBOOK program is a text condensing utility that prints text documents in a book
    format.  Four pages are printed on each sheet of paper - two pages on each side of the
    paper.  In addition, a printer downloadable font file, "bold18.usl," is supplied.

    System Requirements :  A Hewlett Packard LaserJet printer is required.  The     Y cartridge font is
    recommended, but any font capable of using line printer, landscape, and     8.5 point print may be
    used.  PC-DOS or MS-DOS version 2.0 or later and about 64kB of free     memory is needed.

LJLand
                        Load PGM2206

        LJLAND is a file printing utility program for the Hewlitt Packard LaserJet family of printers.
    The program prints text files in landscape orientation on any Hewlett Packard LaserJet or 100%
    compatible printer.  The primary uses of LJLAND are for printing program listings,
    spreadsheets, databases, user manuals, and other formatted ASCII text documents.  The
    obvious effect of using LJLAND is that more text may be printed out using less paper.

    System Requirements :  LJLAND requires a personal computer running MS-DOS     version 2.1 or
    later and having at least 40kB of free RAM.

LQ
                        Load PGM2208

        The LQ utility program allows users to print letter-quality text on inexpensive dot matrix
    printers.  The user can choose from a variety of different special print modes - proportional
    spacing, extra large, graphics printing, etc.  In addition, LQ includes a print spooler, a
    letterhead creator, and a character set editor.  The print spooler and several of LQ's other
    options can be controlled using a pop-up window, which is available at any time.  This function
    is particularly convenient for toggling letter-quality mode on and off and for flushing the buffer
    to abort a printout.

LQMatrix
                        Load PGM2209

        The LQMATRIX program package consists of a font editor for the Epson LQ and
    compatible dot matrix printers.  Besides the editor utility, LQMATRIX provides about 40 pre-
    written soft fonts in draft, NLQ, and proportional modes.  An included program, "lq.exe," can
    be used to directly download the fonts to an appropriate printer.

OCRShare
                        Load PGM2171

        The OCRSHARE software package consists of a complete shareware version of
    STI's Advantex OCR (Optical Character Recognition).  The OCR program was designed to
    convert scanned image files into text and picture files for use by other application programs.
    After using OCRSHARE to input a document, users can manipulate the extracted data using
    word processoring, desktop publishing, or graphics programs.

    System Requirements :  an IBM PC or compatible computer; MS-DOS version 3.0 or     later;  at
    least 640kB of main memory; a hard disk drive with at least two or three megabytes     of free space;
    a display card/monitor with graphics capabilities (Hercules monochrome, CGA,     EGA, and VGA
    are all acceptable).

On-Side
                        Load PGM2608

        The ON-SIDE program consists of a simple sideways printing utility for use with
    Epson/IBM or compatible graphics printers.  ON-SIDE is ideal for printing those extra-wide
    spreadsheet reports down a page instead of across, thereby greatly enhancing output
    appearance.  In addition, a variety of attractive font styles may be used in report generation.
    A simple font editor is also included.

    System Requirements :  ON-SIDE requires an IBM PC or compatible computer with     256kB of
    available memory, and running MS-DOS version 2.0 or later.  A two floppy drive or     hard drive
    system is also required.  An Epson/IBM graphics compatible printer is necessary     for output
    generation.

P4Up
                        Load PGM2213

        P4UP is a DOS utility program for use with Hewlett-Packard's LaserJet series II,
    DeskJet, and ThinkJet printers.  The program prints four 60-line page images of ASCII text in
    portrait mode on one side of a piece of paper (eight, if using both sides).  To do this, P4UP
    generates and downloads its own soft fonts, similar to ones used on the LaserJet II and
    DeskJet printers.  P4UP uses graphics mode printing on the ThinkJet.  P4UP also maintains
    optional printer control functions - continuous, unformatted, or zigzag printing;  writing to LPT1,
    LPT2, LPT3, COM1, or COM2;  and varying the expansion of tab characters.  In addition,
    when soft fonts are used, they can be made resident for use with other software.

Pamphlet
                        Load PGM2214

        PAMPHLET is a printing utility for use with Hewlett Packard LaserJet series II printers
    which will print text documents in pamphlet form.  In lineprinter mode, PAMPHLET will help the
    user keep hardcopy print outs and listings in a neat and manageable way.  Using soft and/or
    cartridge fonts, the program can create informational and educational pamphlets.  PAMPHLET
    prints ASCII text files on the LaserJet II using landscape mode.  Hence, it can print two pages
    side by side;  or by printing on both sides, it can print four pages per sheet of paper.  Page
    arrangement is automatically determined by PAMPHLET so that the resultant sheets may be
    stapled together down the middle and folded in half to create a booklet.

    System Requirements :  The program requires an IBM PC/XT/AT or clone with 192kB     of free
    memory;  PAMPHLET can operate using any of the following printers -  HP LaserJet with
    Y cartridge, HP LaserJet Plus, HP LaserJet Series II, or any other laser printer which can
    emulate the LaserJet Series II.

PCX2PCL

        The PCX2PCL program is a utility used to convert ZSoft's PCX format files to Hewlett
    Packard's PCL (Printer Command Language) format.  PCX2PCL can successfully convert
    images created with PC Paintbrush, Corel Draw, Scanning Gallery (using HP's ScanJet
    scanner), and other software that can save images in PCX format.  Converted files can be
    downloaded to and printed on HP LaserJet Plus, Series II, Series III, and 100% compatible
    laser printers as graphic macros.

    System Requirements :  PCX2PCL requires a personal computer running MS-DOS     version 2.1 or
    later and having at least 40kB of free RAM;  an HP LaserJet or 100%     compatible printer.

Pivot!
                        Load PGM2216

        The PIVOT! utility program allows users to view and print the contents of a .WKS or
    .WK1 worksheet file created by As-Easy-As or some other compatible spreadsheet program.
    It supports spreadsheets up to 8192 rows and 256 columns and has complete support for
    special string concatenation operations performed by the spreadsheet.  PIVOT! can print the
    contents of a spreadsheet in either portrait or landscape modes using a wide variety of print
    control options.  Six high definition character fonts (three portrait and three landscape) are built
    right into the program - Courier, Sanserif, and Tiny.  Other special fonts are distributed on the
    diskette as binary .TRP (portrait) or .TRL (landscape) font files.

        The GCHAR (Graphics Character Editor) companion program allows users to customize
    any font character or create a new character set using a variety of editing commands.  GCHAR
    permits the user to preview the interrelationship of characters (when used in words) by viewing
    them in a special typographic mode displayed on a graphical display screen.

    System Requirements :  PIVOT! will operate on any IBM PC or fully compatible MS-DOS
    computer system.  The program will require a minimum of 256kB of free RAM.  PIVOT! supports
    either a 9-pin MX/RX Epson printer, a 24-pin LQ-2500 Epson printer, or any printer compatible
    with the above Epson 9 and 24-pin printers.

PPrint
                        Load PGM2217

        The PPRINT program is a general purpose print utility that can be used with Hewlett
    Packard laser or other printers.  PPRINT can scan a specified directory and allow a user to
    select files for printing.  User-defined print control parameters govern the print process.
    A special print feature for the HP LaserJet printer allows printing of two full text pages on
    corresponding halves of a sheet of paper.  This function is especially well suited for printing
    large documents to save paper and print time.  However, PPRINT is special and unique
    because it can be customized to any printer type, allowing the user to access print features
    not normally available when printing normal text files.

Print Control Program
                        Load PGM2219

        The PRINT CONTROL PROGRAM (PCP) package consists of a useful collection of
    printer utilities.

        First, PCP comes equipped with an enhanced version of the DOS Print Screen function.
    The DOS Print Screen only outputs printable ASCII text characters;  it does not allow users to
    print extended ASCII characters - underline, reverse video, high intensity text, etc.  PCP, on the
    other hand, allows the printing of such attributes.

        Second, PCP can send commands to the printer from within other application programs.
    A PCP pop-up menu can be activated through the use of program-defined hotkey sequences.
    Users can then proceed to send control codes to their printer without any interruption to their
    original application.

        Finally, PCP can allow users to type on their display screen before activating the print
    process.  This function can be useful for making short reminder notes on printed documents.

Print for Postscript
                        Load PGM2221

        PRINT FOR POSTSCRIPT (P4PS) is a program designed to maximize the use of a
    PostScript printer.  P4PS will save paper and money when printing large amounts of text by
    printing anywhere from one to 64 virtual pages on each side of a sheet of paper - in either
    landscape or portrait orientation.  In addition, P4PS can handle the pure ASCII text and
    PostScript files generated by many of the more popular word processors and other
    applications.  Further, publishers and authors who produce printed manuals, manuscripts,
    booklets, or newsletters will find that P4PS can accommodate their tasks with its Automatic
    Booklet Generation function.

    System Requirements :  Any IBM PC family or PS/2 compatible; about 70kB of free     memory;  any
    monitor display capability;  an Adobe PostScript compatible output device;     MS/PC-DOS version
    2.x or later.

Print-Matic
                        Load PGM2222

        The PRINT-MATIC package consists of two printer utility programs - PMATIC and
    PMACRO.  Both utilities may be programmed to send control codes to a printer to produce
    desired document output.

        The PMATIC program allows users to define the control codes in PMATIC menus.
    Users have the choice of using the RAM- resident "rpmatic.exe" (called with a user-defined
    hotkey sequence) or the non-RAM-resident "nrpmatic.exe" to call up the PMATIC menu
    screens in order to send their printer control codes.

        PMACRO is a RAM-resident utility which allows users to define macros representing
    printer control codes.  Once defined, these macros can be embedded in the user's documents.
    The control codes associated with these macros will become apparent when the document is
    printed.  In this way, printer features that are not supported by a user's software can be made
    available.

PrintGL
                        Load PGM2227

        The PRINTGL program is a pen plotter emulator utility for MS-DOS based computer
    systems.  Specifically, PRINTGL prints a Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language (HP-GL)
    plotfile on a matrix printer.  The HP-GL standard is widely supported by graphics programs,
    including AutoCAD, Generic CADD, MathCAD, SAS, MICROCADAM, Schema, and many
    more.  Even if the graphics program used supports an available printer, the user may find that
    PRINTGL gives better print quality;  PRINTGL uses the best graphics modes available for
    each printer that it supports.  In addition, the PRINTGL Menu Interface (PMI) gives users easy
    access to PRINTGL's many options.

    System Requirements :  The PRINTGL package includes native mode drivers for     Epson and
    NEC compatible 9 and 24-pin dot matrix printers, HP Laserjet, Deskjet, and PaintJet,     and IBM 9
    and 24-pin ProPrinters, Quietwriter 2 and 3, and LaserPrinter.  The program can     optionally display
    plots with a CGA, EGA, VGA, enhanced VGA, or HGC and output a bit map     or GEM .IMG file.

PrintPlus

        The PRINTPLUS program package consists of a full-featured file printing utility.  The
    program prints files with options to save paper by skipping extra blank lines.  Program
    features include the following :  print files from specified page numbers;  print line numbers,
    file name, current date/time, file creation date/time;  preview number of pages to print;  and
    replace IBM box characters with user-defined characters.  Optional program configurations
    allow for the use of different printer setups, screen colors, mouse functions, text output, etc.
    Also included in the package are functions for file viewing, tag and copy, move, and delete.

PrnSet
                        Load PGM2229

        The PRNSET utility package consists of a universal printer setting program.  Creation
    of a PRNSET data configuration file allows users to set print control symbols for any printer,
    and select and organize a PRNSET instruction set.  In this way, users can quickly and easily
    prepare documents using any print style supported by their printers.  PRNSET  can operate
    interactively through a menu, from a batch file, or directly from a DOS command prompt.

    System Requirements :  PRNSET requires an IBM PC or compatible computer system     running
    under MS-DOS version 2.00 or later.

PRNSuite
                        Load PGM2246

        PRNSUITE is a set of related print utilities using a common user interface.  The
    package consists of the following programs :

    DIRPRN -  prints directory contents using a variety of sorting options.
    ENVPRN -  various type styles for use in addressing envelopes.
    LABPRN -  various type styles for binder and drawer labels.
    MERPRN -  prints a merged set of related text files.
    SETPRN -  sets a printer for print spooling.
    XTRPRN -  extracts and prints call declarations and comments from Turbo Pascal source.

    System Requirements :  The PRNSUITE package requires any member of the IBM
    PC, PS/2, or compatible family of computers with 64kB of free memory.  The programs do
    not require graphics and have been run using both color and monochrome displays.
    DataProducts DP8070, Epson MX/FX and IBM Pro, and equivalent printers are supported.

Pro-CR
                        Load PGM2231

        The PRO-CR program performs an optical character recognition function on an IBM PC
    or compatible.  Input is supplied from one of two different methods - direct scanning from a
    Hewlett Packard ScanJet, or reading from a TIFF file produced by any other scanner.  In this
    way, PRO-CR can read up to 200 words per minute, of eight to 30-point mono and/or
    proportional spaced fonts.    In addition, program training and font editing functions are
    supported with real-time viewing of text allowed during either normal or training scans.

    System Requirements :  The program will run on either an XT or AT, with an AT is     strongly
    recommended.  A graphics adapter is not required for basic character recognition,     but is needed
    for the training and font-edit functions;  if a graphics adapter is used, it should     be EGA or VGA.  The
    minimum memory requirement is about 80kB (512kB is recommended).

Programmable Printer Popup
                        Load PGM2225

        PROGRAMMABLE PRINTER POPUP (PPP) is a utility which allows users to send
    customized configuration codes to their printer.  PPP can be loaded as a resident utility (60K)
    through the use of a "hotkey" sequence, or it can be executed from a DOS command prompt
    with optional line parameters.  When PPP is executed, the user is presented with a menu of
    printer command options.  For example, the user can turn on bold print, enable compressed
    mode, or even send the string "Dear Sir," to the printer.  The definition of each option is
    completely under the users control, because the user can customize his own options menu.

ProMenu
                        Load PGM2232

        The PROMENU program is a memory resident printer control menu utility for the IBM
    ProPrinter and compatible printers.  The pop-up PROMENU, accessed using the 'Alt-Tab'
    hotkey sequence, allows users to access and use control codes such as condensed, double
    strike, or underline.  In addition, combinations of these print styles may produced and sent to
    the printer.  Note that some of the codes in PROMENU will not work for Epson printers.  An
    included second program, PMENU, should be used by owners of Epson printers.

    System Requirements :  PROMENU runs IBM PC and compatible systems using     MS-DOS
    versions 2.0 - 3.1.  PROMENU should be compatible with most PC software.

SideWriter
                        Load PGM2236

        The SIDE WRITER printer utility program allows users to print standard ASCII text files
    in a sideways manner, thus allowing for an unlimited print width.  In this way, extended
    spreadsheet documents, such as Lotus 1-2-3 .WKS files, can be printed on one continuous
    sheet of paper.  Easy to use function keys and menus permit SIDE WRITER to be easy to
    learn even for the novice user.

    System Requirements :  SISE WIRTER requires - an IBM PC or compatible system;     single or dual
    floppy disks;  128kB free memory;  IBM printer / Epson printer / Hewlitt Packard     ThinkJet printer.

Star Master
                        Load PGM2238

        The STAR MASTER program offers users of the Star NX-1000 and compatible printers
    complete control over print attributes.  An attractive menu screen allows users the options of
    controlling font, pitch, and other attributes.  Script, double strike, emphasized, italics, select NLQ,
    NLQ, draft, or underlining font styles may be overlapped with pica, elite, condensed,
    proportional, expanded, char size, char height, or double/quad pitch sizes.  In addition, STAR
    MASTER can control colors (if available), graphics, slah zero, justify, directional, reset default,
    on-line, and top of page.

Text2PS

        The TEXT2PS program package consists of a text to postscript conversion utility.
    TEXT2PS reads text from standard input and produces postscript output, suitable for sending
    to any postscript compatible device or for using with any program that expects postscript
    input.  Command line parameters allow users to specify page rotation, font, point size,
    character spacing, line spacing, and margin options.

TextCon
                        Load PGM2241

        Virtually all word processors can import ASCII files;  however, the resulting documents
    are often less than optimal.  Imported ASCII files almost always require a great deal of
    manual "cleaning up" before a desired format can be obtained.  TEXTCON is a file pre-
    rocessor that automatically performs this manual "cleaning up" before the importing function.
    The ASCII files that TEXTCON produces are in a form that is much more suitable for import to
    most word processors.  Further, TEXTCON has a tremendous power and flexibility which can
    also be useful for other tasks involving database files, desktop publishing, and program
    editing.  For example, the program may be used for converting from WordStar to ASCII, adding
    line feeds where only carriage returns are present, expanding tabs to spaces, removing all
    blank lines from a file, etc.  TEXTCON does not eliminate all manual editing, but it makes the
    job much easier.

Tiles

        The TILES package contains a proportional-pitch soft font in portrait orientation for use
    in Hewlett Packard LaserJet II and compatible printers.  TILES is an approximately 21x21 cell
    font, with each pixel in the font generating a 4x4 array of printer dots.  Thus each character
    occupies an 84x84 cell of dots.  The package includes the entire printable subset of ASCII
    text characters.  Additionally, complete instructions for font usage and modification are
    included.

Tiny Fonts
                        Load PGM2243

        The TINY FONTS FOR LASER PRINTERS package contains two fixed pitch portrait
    orientation fonts for use in laser printers compatible with the Hewlitt Packard LaserJet II.

    FLYSPECK is a 9x7-cell font (with an additional three rows for descenders);  thus the font
    occupies a 12x7 cell of pixels.  FLYSPECK is the smallest font that produces clearly legible
    characters on a laser printer.

    MYOPIA is a 13x9-cell font (four rows for descenders);  thus it occupies a 17x9-cell of pixels.

        In addition to the font files, the package contains a utility program (for each font) for
    printing text files at the maximum density permitted by each font.  "184x80x3.exe" formats files
    for subsequent printing using FLYSPECK at 552 (=184*3) rows of 80-column text per page.
    "120x80x2.exe" permits printing with MYOPIA at 240 (=120*2) rows of 80-column text per page.

TMAC
                        Load PGM2218

        The TMAC program package allows users to convert printer art into ReadMAC-format
    graphic images.  This process permits users to view and manipulate the images using a
    ReadMac display utility.  TMAC includes its own built-in ReadMAC viewer, YAMP (Yet
    Another Mac Program).  YAMP is optimized for the display on CGA monitors.  It features
    portrait and landscape mode views, contrast settings, colorized contrast settings, inversions
    and mirroring, and other attractive options.

    System Requirements :   TMAC requires an IBM PC or compatible machine running     MS-DOS
    version 2.1 or later with 384kB of available memory.  A CGA card and display monitor,     or equivalent
    is also required.

TSR Download
                        Load PGM2244

        TSR DOWNLOAD is a memory resident soft font management utility program.  The
    program works with any Hewlett Packard compatible soft font for either the LaserJet or DeskJet
    printers.  In order to save disk space, TSR DOWNLOAD allows users to compress soft font
    files.  When required, the program decompresses the files on-the-fly as they are being sent to
    a printer.  In addition, the program keeps track of what fonts are in the printer and how much
    memory they need.  TSR DOWNLOAD is a memory resident (Terminate-and-Stay-Resident)
    utility, but it can also be executed from a DOS command line or from within a batch file.

    System Requirements :  TSR DOWNLOAD requires an IBM PC, XT, AT, PS2 or     compatible
    computer with PC-DOS or MS-DOS versions 2.1 or later.  TSR DOWNLOAD     occupies 7kB of RAM
    when loaded into memory in swapping mode.  An HP LaserJet+, Series II,     IID, IIP, III, 2000, DeskJet,
    or compatible printer is required.

TypeRite

        TYPERITE is a program which imitates a correcting electric typewriter.  In this way,
    users can type directly into their printers without the hassles of using a word processor.  In
    addition, TYPERITE allows users to easily set some of the special printing modes on the
    Epson (IBM Graphics) family of printers.

Versa-Spool
                                                Load PGM2247

        The VERSA-SPOOL program is an extremely versatile printer spooler utility.  Features
    include multiple buffers, large buffer size, adjustable output speed, and redirection ability to
    a printer stream from one printer to another.  In order to enable applications to interact
    intelligently with printer resources, VERSA-SPOOL includes a protocol which will permit
    access to program operating parameters and current status, either from the DOS prompt or
    from within a second program.  In addition, VERSA-SPOOL may be instructed to
    automatically select the most efficient printer available to which output may be sent.

VPrint
                        Load PGM2248

        The VPRINT printer utility program captures output normally destined for the printer
    COM port, and redirects it to a user defined file.  This handy function can be used to :
     produce formatted files from software packages that do not support printing to disk;  capture
    output for modification by other programs prior to printing;  capture output generated on one
    computer so that it may be printed on a different system; delay printer output for later printing;
    etc.

    control codes to their printers to activate or deactivate any options or features.  For example,
    ZAPCODE may be used to reset the printer, turn on condensed print, or advance the page.
    ZAPCODE can also be used to automatically enter printer codes into a word processing or
    spreadsheet document file;  this is useful for word processors that do not support some printer
    features.  In addition, ZAPCODE can be used as an envelop printer, a dialing directory, a
    crude keyboard macro program, etc.  ZAPCODE is ideal for all types of printers including
    dot-matrix, laser, and even plotters.

        The ANTIVIRUS29A program package is a sophisticated anti-virus utility.  The program
    periodically checks five important target files, "io.sys," "msdos.sys," "command.com,"
    "config.sys," and "autoexec.bat," and detects any alterations to their size, date or time of
    creation, and "checksum" since the last time it was executed.  ANTIVIRUS29A was developed
    to verify that no virus has installed itself in MS-DOS.

B_Crypt
                        Load PGM2142

        The program B_CRYPT, is a file encryption/decryption utility, which may be used to
    protect sensitive data files from unauthorized access.  B_CRYPT converts data into a binary
    form by using a user supplied password with a software implemented algorithm.  Due to its
    design innovation, it can process any file format that is legal in the MS-DOS environment.  For
    example, files which have the following familiar extensions, .ARC, .BAT, .COM, .DBF, .EXE,
    .WKS etc., may all be processed with ease.  B_CRYPT also runs under Microsoft Windows
    version 2.0.

    System Requirements :  B_CRYPT should only be run on IBM PC, XT, AT, OS/2, or
    close compatibles under DOS 2.10 or higher.  Minimum requirements under DOS 2.10 are a
    monochrome display adapter and monitor, 128kB of RAM, and one floppy disk drive.

ChkANSI2

        CHKANSI2 is an anti-virus system maintenance utility program.  Specifically, CHKANSI2
    goes through every byte of any suspicious file, whether it is a text, display, data, or any other
    file, and checks for ANSI-specific escape sequences.  CHKANSI2 prints any escape
    sequences it finds, the total number found, and the number of potentially harmful ones (those
    that redefine keys).  Execution of the program without any parameters will provide instructions
    on its usage.

Cipher
                        Load PGM2143

        The CIPHER utility program allows users to encrypt files so that no one else can use
    them - unless they have a correct "key."  Protection is provided by a reliable, documented
    method that is highly resistant to attack - even by expert programmers and cryptographic
    analysts.  CIPHER features the following abilities :  CIPHER can encrypt files in place so that
    unerase utilities can not recreate decrypted versions;  CIPHER can also make a new
    encrypted file and leave the original file untouched (this is useful when sending an encrypted
    file to someone else).  CIPHER can be used from batch files so that encrypt security is
    automatically provided.

    System Requirements :  CIPHER runs on any MS-DOS compatible machine (IBM and
    BIOS compatibility is not needed) using MS-DOS version 2.00 or later.  The program requires
    a minimum of 64kB of memory.  All standard display adapters may be used as long they
    display at least 80 characters per line.  Files may reside on floppy or hard disks and be any
    type or size.

Encrypt

        The ENCRYPT program copies and encrypts a user-specified file.  The encryption
    scheme used is similar to the Data Encryption Standard but is non-symmetrical.  Therefore,
    the appropriate DECRYPT program (and password) is required to decrypt a file.

EZ-Crypt Lite

        The EZ-CRYPT LITE program package is a powerful encryption and decryption utility.
    The program allows users to encrypt a specified source file using one of several methods.
    Decryption of the file can be subsequently achieved using a confidential key.  EZ-CRYPT LITE
    also comes equipt with a sophisticated cryptanalysis program - users can obtain file statistics
    such as frequency/distribution, mode, mean, median, and more.  Fully documented on-line
    help screens are also included.

    System Requirements :  IBM PC/XT/AT/PS/2 or fully compatible computer;  384kB RAM;
    DOS 3.0 or later;  any monitor (the program can accommodate monochrome, color, enhanced
    graphics, and video graphics array display adapters);  at least one 5.25" floppy disk drive.

FICheck
                        Load PGM2146

        The FICHECK and MFICHECK programs are so-called anti-virus or file integrity checker
    utilities.  They differ from vaccine-type and other programs that attempt to find, block, or alert
    users to potential viruses.  Instead, FICHECK is a preventive medicine program which takes a
    snapshot (x-ray) of a specified fixed disk and logs it to a file.  The things FICHECK logs are the
    date, time, size, attribute, and CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) of every file on the fixed disk.
    It looks for differences in all of these things whenever FICHECK is executed again and alerts
    the user to any changes.  Any changes potentially mean a virus is at work - viruses have to
    alter files in some way in order to spread themselves.  The MFICHECK program works in a
    manner similar to FICHECK except that it uses a unique MCRC (Modified Cyclic Redundancy
    Check) instead of the standard CRC checking.

File-Safe
                        Load PGM2147

        The FILE-SAFE package consists of a self-activating backup and restore utility
    program.  Directories to be backed up and frequency of backups are specifically supplied
    by the user.  These directories can be selected from a tree structure display of all the disk's
    directories.  And each time a file is backed up, information about that backup is saved in a
    catalog containing date and time of the backup, the drive and path where the original file
    resides, and the name of the disk containing the backed up file.  When the FILE-SAFE backup
    program is included in an "autoexec.bat" file, the system automatically scans the directory
    schedules and presents only those items needing backup.

    System Requirements :  MS-DOS 2.1 or later;  320kB free memory; hard disk     recommended;  color
    display optional.

Flu_Shot+

    If any system files are changed, added, or deleted, the program automatically notifies the
    appropriate user.  Easy to use menus, built-in help functions, and a special INTEGRITY
    ADVISOR feature are included.

Login

        The LOGIN program enables users to restrict access to his/her computer system
    through the use of a username and password.  LOGIN also keeps a detailed log of monthly
    computer usage - a .log format file is maintained with the username, the application, whether
    the use is business or personal (for IRS purposes), the time and date (assumed to be set
    when the computer boots up), and any additional comments the user may wish to add.  This
    file is written in standard ASCII text, and hence it can be imported into a data-base program
    for easy inspection and analysis.  LOGIN can also help users execute external DOS
    applications - the user creates a menu of the applications he/she wants to run by selecting
    "Modify the Menu," and entering the path to the application from the root directory, the
    executable filename, and a description for the menu.  In addition, while the menu is displayed,
    the program monitors keyboard input, and after a given period of time, if there is no activity,
    the program logs the user off and blanks the screen.

Memoirs
                        Load PGM2152

        The MEMOIRS package consists of a private-diary program which allows users to
    type a daily diary directly into an encrypted disk file.  Emphasis has been placed upon ease
    of use so that regular diary entries can be made with the minimum of inconveniences.
    MEMOIRS can automatically name daily diary files using the current date so that users can
    type into their diary without having to create new filenames.  In addition, MEMOIRS also allows
    users to encrypt standard ASCII text documents.

Mi-Log
                        Load PGM2153

        The MI-LOG program package consists of a home computer record and security
    system.  MI-LOG maintains automatic records of user, date, time, hours, reason, specific
    purpose, and cumulative total of hours.  This function will be found to be quite useful for tax
    and business purposes.  A Record System Screen allows users to execute the following
    commands :  Display of Diary, Printout of Diary, Adding New Access Codes, or Other
    Housekeeping Activities.  In addition, password control of system access allows for user
    restriction based on security reasons.

    System Requirements :  MS-DOS version 2.0, or later;  standard 80 column display;

Netscan
                        Load PGM2155

        The NETSCAN utility is a network version of McAfee Associate's "viruscan" program.
    NETSCAN scans network virtual drives and identifies any pre-existing PC virus infection in
    the file servers.  NETSCAN will indicate the specific files or system areas that are infected
    and will identify the virus strain which has caused the infection.  Removal of the virus can then
    be done manually, or if the infection is widespread, automatic removal utilities are readily
    available which can disinfect each virus strain.  NETSCAN, when used in conjunction with
    VIRUSCAN on individual workstations, can identify 86 major virus strains and numerous
    sub-varieties for each strain.

PC Canary
                        Load PGM2156

        The PC CANARY program is a virus "alarm" utility - it checks itself, its associated
    documentation file, and the comspec "command.com" for changes in length or content using
    a proprietary technology that identifies the location of the changes for analysis purposes.
    Unlike other virus programs, PC CANARY does not use a signature table to identify viruses;
    this allows it to react to viruses that are yet to be written.  PC CANARY is appropriate for use
    as a backup to a signature table virus alarm, or in situations where regular updating of the
    anti-virus software is not practical.

    System Requirements :  IBM PC/MS-DOS version 2.1 or later; 200kB of free memory;     300kB free
    disk space;  any display monitor;  optional math coprocessor.

PC-Cryp2
                        Load PGM2157

        The PC-CRYP2 package consists of a data encryption and decryption utility program.
    The program has two main functions, demonstration of the Vernam encryption and decryption
    process using test character strings, and the encryption and decryption of both sequential
    and random access files.  All encryption, decryption, and file or record processing is done
    within subroutines.  These subroutines may be merged into other file processing programs if
    PC-CRYP2 does not provide the required file processing capability.

    System Requirements :  The program is written in IBM PC BASIC and runs on an IBM PC
    with 64kB or more of memory, an IBM or MX-80 printer, either a color or monochrome display,
    and one or more disk drives.

PC-Merlin
                        Load PGM2159

        The PC-MERLIN program package implements a DOS-like 'copy' utility, but with data
    encryption.  This allows the user to copy multiple files to a target disk or directory, encrypting
    the data as the copy proceeds.  Such a function is particularly useful to users who need to
    exchange sensitive data with remote users, or who need to keep offsite backups of such
    data.  PC-MERLIN encrypts data using the DES (Data Encryption Standard) algorithm in ECB,
    CBC, CFB, CFB8, OFB, and OFB8 modes.  There is currently no known general solution to this
    algorithm.

Security
                        Load PGM2161

        SECURITY consists of a password protection utility program.  SECURITY performs
    the password request and verification with a device driver that cannot be aborted and occurs
    before the computer calls the "autoexec.bat."  However, SECURITY does not claim to be
    foolproof - a determined intruder can still bring his/her own operating system on a bootable
    floppy disk to bypass the entire system.

VCopy
                        Load PGM2163

        VCOPY is a backup utility program which can be used as a replacement for the DOS
    "copy" command.  VCOPY will search a system for known computer viruses in memory, then
    search the partition table and the boot sector of the source and destination disks, in addition
    to the files being copied.  This prevents viruses from entering the system and identifies
    infected diskettes.

    System Requirements :  VCOPY requires DOS version 2.0 or above and 256kB of free     memory.

Virus Checker

        VIRUS CHECKER is a simple virus prevention utility program.  The program checks
    a user-defined list of files for viruses that add themselves to files.  It is suggested that VIRUS
    CHECKER be performed on all important .exe, .com, and .bat files on the user's system.  For
    ease of use, VIRUS CHECKER may be placed into and executed from a system's
    "autoexec.bat" file.

Virus Detector
                        Load PGM2166

        VIRUS DETECTOR is an anti-virus utility detection program.  It takes a snapshot of
    the disk environment for up to five disk drives, each directory in each drive, and each file in
    each directory.  Up to ten different file extensions can be specified (.exe, .com, and .sys are
    recommended as a minimum), or a wildcard asterisk character can be used to snapshot all
    files.  Snapshot information is retained in the read-only file "virus.new" containing the
    following information :  selection criteria;  each directory found on each drive;  each file in
    each directory that matches the file, with extensions specified; size, date, and time of each
    file;  a standard CRC of each file; an altered CRC of each file.  Subsequent runs of VIRUS
    DETECTER will rename "virus.new" to "virus.old" and will create an updated version of
    "virus.new."  In addition, a comparison is performed between "virus.old: and "virus.new,"
    with all differences being written to a third file, "virus.rpt."

    System Requirements :  VIRUS DETECTER has been successfully run using DOS     versions 2.0
    through 3.3.  VIRUS DETECTER has a color display while running and works     well using
    monochrome, CGA, EGA, and VGA adapters/monitors.

Virus Presentation

Viruscan / Clean-Up / VShield

        The enclosed software consists of a complete anti-virus utility package.  Included are
    McAfee Associates' VIRUSCAN, CLEAN-UP, and VSHIELD.

        The VIRUSCAN program is a virus detection and identification utility.  VIRUSCAN will
    search a PC for known computer viruses in :  memory, the boot sector, the partition table, and
    the files of a PC and its disks.  VIRUSCAN can also detect the presence of unknown viruses.

        The CLEAN-UP program is a computer virus disinfection utility.  CLEAN-UP will search
    through the partition table, the boot sector, or files of a PC and remove a virus specified by the
    user.  In most instances CLEAN-UP is able to repair the infected area of the system and
    restore it to normal usage.  CLEAN-UP works on all viruses identified by the current version of
    the "viruscan" program.  CLEAN-UP can also remove unknown viruses from .com and .exe
    files, the partition table, and the boot sector, that have had recovery information stored for them
    by the "viruscan" program.

        The VSHIELD program was designed to serve as a computer virus prevention utility - it
    will prevent viruses from infecting a system.  When VSHIELD first loads it will search the system
    for known computer viruses in memory, the partition table, the boot sector, system files, and
    itself, and then install itself as a  Terminate-and-Stay-Resident (TSR) program.  VSHIELD will
    then scan all programs before allowing the system to execute them.  If any program contains
    a virus, VSHIELD will refuse to allow it to execute.  VSHIELD will also not allow the system to be
    warm booted from any diskette which contains a boot-sector virus.  VSHIELD can optionally
    check files that have been validation coded by the "viruscan" program for new, unknown
    viruses as well as check files for viruses as they are copied or accessed.

    System Requirements :  VIRUSCAN, CLEAN-UP, and VSHIELD will run on any PC with
    256kB free memory and DOS version 2.0 or later.  The VSHIELD1 program uses 6kB of
    system memory.  The VSHIELD program uses 32.7kB of system memory in non-swap mode,
    or 3kB if swapping-to-disk is specified.  VSHIELD can be loaded into high memory, in which
    case 416 bytes of conventional memory is used.

VirusChk
                        Load PGM2168

        VIRUSCHK is an anti-virus system maintenance utility program.  It was designed to be
    easy to run so that users could perform daily virus checks on their systems.  VIRUSCHK
    should be executed from a batch file so that it will check all relevant directories without
    requiring any user intervention.  Program operation works by reading all files in a particular
    directory and by calculating a series of values for each file.  These values are stored in a
    data file (viruschk.dat) and are used to determine if any changes were made to the files.

    System Requirements :  VIRUSCHK requires a PC compatible running with MS-DOS
    version 2.0 or later.

VTech

    a menu-driven file manager utility with a variety of useful features.  LASR-MAN is a laser
    printer utility for ASCII files.  MENU-MAN is a utility routine for batch files useful for producing
    user menu windows.  PATH-MAN is a utility to determine if a file is located on a PATH
    directory.

    (field) format.

AnyWord
                        Load PGM2058

        ANYWORD, formerly called "TOTAL RECALL", is a general text indexing and retrieval
    program.  It consists of two parts :  Indexer and Finder.  When Indexer is run against a set of
    text files, it produces an index much like the index of a book.  These index files can then be
    read by Finder to quickly locate any word or combination of words in the text.  Hence,
    ANYWORD can be useful for :  locating simple information;  locating combinations of text;
    extracting chunks of text into new files; rapidly browsing through a collection of files.

Arga Utilities
                        Load PGM2059

        The ARGA UTILITIES program package consists of three useful utility programs :
    ARGA-COPY, ARGA-FIND, and ARGA-MENU.

        ARGA-COPY is a DOS "shell" program which is designed to allow a user to perform
    the most common DOS operations with the minimum number of keystrokes.  DOS functions
    and paths are selected using the direction keys and a menu, or by use of a mouse.  The
    menu contains eight of the most useful DOS commands, and three file sort functions.
    In addition, ARGA-COPY also displays the directory "tree" of a selected drive, the number
    of bytes available, and the number of files in a selected directory.

        ARGA-FIND is a search utility which is designed to allow a user to locate any file on
    a selected disk.  Since the use of "wild-cards" is permitted, the full file name does not need
    to be known.  The program displays the located filename, length, date, time, and the path
    name.  ARGA-FIND can be used to search a MAXIMUM of 512 directories, containing 512
    files per directory.

        ARGA-MENU is a menu utility which is designed to simplify user access to application
    programs and DOS commands, particularly on systems which use a hard disk.  It may also
    be used on floppy disks subject to memory capacity limitations.  ARGA-MENU features
    a capacity for up to 100 menu selections, organized as 10 pages with 10 entries on each
    page.  In addition, the program allows selection using the first character of the directory entry,
    the direction keys and the "ENTER" key, or mouse-input.

Auto File Loader
                        Load PGM2060

        The AUTO FILE LOADER utility simplifies batch loading of several data files into a
    main execution program.  Basically, the program brings up the current directory, allows users
    to tag any appropriate files, and pipes these files into a main execution program.  For
    example the TrakBlaster program plays music files, and the syntax for running a music file is,
    TRAK FILENAME.MOD.  When the TrakBlaster program has finished playing a file, it returns
    to the DOS command line.  To play another file, the user must type the command again using
    a different filename.  With AUTO FILE LOADER users can tag any files they desire, and play
    them one at the time, or optionally, the files may be programmed to play randomly.

Baker's Dozen

    copied to the Presentation Manager clipboard or to a printer.  Users can also search for
    specific words or phrases in the file and can display the selected text in context.

BrowseMaster
                        Load PGM2063

        The BROWSEMASTER program is a powerful, full-featured file browsing utility
    designed to make the process of viewing files as swift and painless as possible.  In addition
    to the capability of browsing any and nearly any size file, BROWSEMASTER provides extra
    features designed to facilitate the location and selection of target files.  The user may freely
    change drives and directories through the use of pop-up file and directory tree lists.
    BROWSEMASTER is unique in its support for building a sequence list of files to browse.
    Once the list is built, the files will be sequentially loaded into the browser at the touch of a
    single keystroke.

    System Requirements :  BROWSEMASTER is designed to operate on systems     compatible with
    the IBM PC/XT/AT and PS/2 family computers.  DOS 2.0 or greater is required.      Video text mode
    support is offered for monochrome, Hercules, CGA, EGA, and VGA video     systems.  Although
    BROWSEMASTER may be operated successfully on floppy disks, it is     primarily designed for
    larger fixed disk systems.  Approximately 300kB of free RAM is required     at run time.

CleanUp

        Sustained hard drive usage usually results in a cluttering of "tiny" mistake files of zero,
    one, or two bytes.  These "tiny" mistake files actually take up a minimum of two disk clusters,
    or about 2048 bytes, and perhaps even eight clusters if an early DOS version is being used.
    The CLEANUP program is a quick utility which searches a disk's file tree and identifies these
    "tiny" little mistake files.  For safety purposes, CLEANUP prompts the user before it erases
    these files.

CMD Processor
                        Load PGM2112

        The CMD PROCESSOR utility program was designed to simplify access to multiple
    small programs by using a simple point and choose menu.  When a selection is made, the
    program name is displayed, and an opportunity to add any required or optional parameters
    to a program filename is given.  CMD PROCESSOR includes an option of directly entering
    a filename or a DOS command directly through a command line.  In addition, the ability of
    CMD PROCESSOR to read a menu file allows the menu selector to be flexible enough to
    maintain an unlimited number of menus.

    System Requirements :  At least 128kB must be available in memory for the program     to work
    efficiently.  Color is not necessary for proper operation of CMD PROCESSOR.  A hard     disk is also
    not required, however each entry will need additional editting or disk swapping.

Copy Master

        Have you ever wondered why software manufacturers and distributors put protection
    on their software.  Why should law-abiding consumers be unable to backup their own
    purchased software for personal or private usage.  For this reason ONLY, COPY MASTER,
    an excellent diskette duplicator and cloner, was developed.  Copy MASTER will copy most
    protected software that the Copyiipc or CopyWrite programs will not.

CopyIt

        The COPYIT program is a file copy utility designed to be much more complete than

    that are read-only, hidden, or system files;  optimize while copying to diskettes - COPYIT will

Cut

        The CUT program is a field cut utility which cuts out specified fields from each line of
    an input file.  The fields specified may be of fixed length, or separated by any number of
    delimiter characters.  If no file arguments are specified, cut will act as a filter, using standard

DabUtil

    the basic tools needed to manage various aspects of a computer system - several file and
    disk management utilities, a menu utility, and a printer utility.  DABUTIL also includes the
    EVENTMAN program, an event and process management utility.  EVENTMAN can run
    programs unattended at any time of the day or night, and repeat them daily, weekly, monthly,
    or whenever.  In addition, the DABUTIL package also includes SBE, an easy to use full
    screen editor, and FF, a simple file finder utility.

Directory Utilities
                        Load PGM2070

        Advocate Enterprise's DIRECTORY UTILITIES (DIRUTILS) package is a collection
    of directory-related programs.  The package contains the following programs :

        ADVOCATE SCOUT, the Sophisticated File Finder.  Besides traditional searches,
    ASCOUT can locate "close" matches, useful for when the user can not remember exact
    names.  In addition, searches may be limited to files created before, since, or on any date,
    as well as between any two dates.

        ADVOCATE DIR, the Multi-Path Sorting and Display Program.  ADIR is a fast,
    sophisticated directory display program which allows users to compare up to four directories
    or file specifications at a time.

        ADVOCATE TREE, the Expanded Tree Replacement.  ATREE is a simple but useful
    replacement for the DOS TREE program.  ATREE is about twice as fast and is far more
    informative and functional than TREE.

        CDX, the Change Directory Extended Program.  CDX provides a way to move between
    directories the costs of time-consuming navigation through fancy tree displays.

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS :  DIRUTILS are designed to run on virtually any MS-DOS or
    PC-DOS system, version 2.1 or later.  Amount of memory and hardware configuration aren't
    critical.

DirEdit
                        Load PGM2069

        DIREDIT is a program which allows users to edit DOS directories to their own
    specifications.  Similar to many public domain and commercial utility programs, DIREDIT
    allows directories to be sorted by filename, by file extension, by modification date, by size,
    etc.  But DIREDIT was one of the very first programs which also allowed the user to specify
    an arbitrary order and/or to move individual directory entries around at will.  Further,
    DIREDIT's "pick it up and move it" implementation is more convenient than the approaches
    used by others.  In addition, DIREDIT displays directories in a compact manner, with up to
    80 file-names visible on the screen at once, and with full file descriptions included.

    System Requirements :  DIREDIT requires MS/PC-DOS 2.0 or above and at least     96kB of free
    memory (the exact amount required depends on the size of the target device     and directory) to run.

Disk Wiz
                        Load PGM2071

        The DISK WIZ program is a convenient and versatile printer manager.  The program's
    major feature is that it loads into RAM and remains in the background until called up at the
    touch of a key.  DISK WIZ allows users to use it without having to exit the program being
    worked in.  For instance, if the user is currently using a speadsheet application, DISK WIZ's
    pop-up feature allows the user to jump out of the spreadsheet and into DISK WIZ to pull up a
    letter containing figures needed in the spreadsheet.  The user may print the letter out or view
    it on the screen, and then go back to the spreadsheet to insert the numbers.

    System Requirements :  DISK WIZ works on IBM(R) and compatible computers using     PC or MS
    DOS 2.0 or higher.  The program uses less than 43kB of memory.

DOS Extensions
                        Load PGM2072

        The DOS EXTENSIONS package has been designed to enhance the features and
    flexibility of the MS-DOS or PC-DOS (2.1 or above) operating system.  It does this by adding
    over twenty new commands to existing MS-DOS or PC-DOS system software.  Nothing in the
    original DOS software is changed, so users can continue to use all original DOS commands.
    With DOS EXTENSIONS added to the computer, users can perform new capabilities,
    eliminate redundant commands, do more work in less time, and gain greater control over
    their computer.

DOS-EZ
                        Load PGM2073

        The DOS-EZ software package consists of several DOS utility programs which
    basically simplify PC usage.  DOS-EZ contains three pattern searching utilities (XFIND,
    FGREP, and GREP), three file information utilities (FINDF, XDIR, and DTREE), five file and
    directory manipulation utilities (XDEL, RNDIR, MVFILES, FDATE, and SWAPF), two security
    utilities (CRYPT and WIPEOUT), and four miscellaneous DOS utilities (NOW, SOUND,
    VIEW, and VATTR).

DTSearch
                        Load PGM2074

        DTSEARCH is a fast, powerful, and easy to use document search and retrieval
    program.  Searches may be conducted by boolean, proximity, phrase, and field/segment
    searches, by search macros, with wildcards, and with an index, without an index, or both ways.
    Program features include :  view retrieved documents in multiple overlapping windows;
    prepare and print search reports listing hits in context;  cut, paste, edit, and print retrieved text;
    "launch" application that created a document.  DTSEARCH supports the following file formats:
    ASCII text files, WordPerfect 5.0 and 5.1, Multimate Advantage II and Multimate 4, Wordstar
    through version 6, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Rich Text Format.

    System Requirements :  DTSEARCH requires DOS 3.2 or higher, 384kB available     memory, and a
    hard disk.

Eddy
                        Load PGM2075

        The EDDY (EDit DirectorY) program is a full-screen directory editor and general
    purpose disk utility.  With EDDY, users may edit directory entries, including name, date, time,
    and file attributes, and sort directory displays by file name, extension, size, or date/time.
    In addition, EDDY can copy, move, delete, and destroy files, and it can perform a variety of
    file search functions.

    System Requirements :  IBM PC, XT, AT or close compatible;  a monitor that can     accommodate
    a 25 x 80 text mode display;  at least 75kB of available memory;  PC or     MS-DOS version 2.0 or later.

ElfTree
                        Load PGM2076

        ELFTREE is designed to simplify the goal of getting the most out of a computer.
    The heart of the program is a powerful, intuitive and marvelously integrated file, directory,
    and application manager.  With it, users can install software in record time, move files from
    one place to another (even across a network!) with ease, and locate files fast on even the
    largest hard disk.

    System Requirements :   ELFTREE requires a minimum of about 150kB free memory.
    It can take advantage of EGA or VGA displays, it works with the largest hard disks (even
    under DOS 3.31 and above), it works on all DOS-compatible networks, etc.  In other words,
    it has modest requirements, and it should run on any hardware that is available.

Expert Tools
                        Load PGM2077

        The EXPERT TOOLS program package consists of a series of useful DOS utility
    programs, as follows :

    XASK.EXE            batch file ask utility
    XDEL.EXE            global deletion utility
    XDELBUT.EXE            delete all but ... utility
    XDIRRUN.EXE            lists of .BAT, .COM, and .EXE files in directory
    XDUPS.EXE            finds duplicate files on a drive
    XFIND.EXE            find a file(s) anywhere on a drive
    XFLAG.EXE            change file's ReadOnly and Hidden attributes
    XGLOBAL.EXE            execute any command in all directories
    XRD.EXE            remove a directory, even when full
    XREP.EXE            replace all files of a name with specified copy
    XSEP.EXE            separate files into groups of specified size
    XTOOLS.EXE            utility shell for running the above programs

    System Requirements :  EXPERT TOOLS does not have any hardware requirements,
    however, there is no real reason to use EXPERT TOOLS without a hard drive.

Extend-A-Name
                        Load PGM2078

        The EXTEND-A-NAME program consists of a memory-resident utility which allows
    users to save their document, spreadsheet, database, or general data under extended
    names.  A pop-up style save menu allows application files to be saved utilizing more the
    eight characters allowed by standard DOS.  Applications supported by EXTEND-A-NAME
    include Lotus 1-2-3, AutoCAD, DisplayWrite, Enable, Symphony, Word Perfect, and XYWrite.

EZDO
                        Load PGM2079

        The EZDO program package consists of an easy to use utility which greatly enhances
    the process of maintaining disk files and directories.  EZDO provides all the common DOS
    file maintenance capabilities, such as delete, rename, copy, file view, create directory, and
    show files and subdirectories on a disk or within a subdirectory.  In addition, there are
    commands which can sort filenames and directories, find a file, modify a file's attributes, save
    EZDO's output display to a file, and invoke user supplied programs to edit, show, or print a file.
    The EZDO package also provides the capibility to invoke commands on a group of marked
    files.  File groups may be copied, deleted, or attribute modified.  Each file within the marked
    group may be printed by a user supplied print program, or operated upon by any user
    definable program.

    System Requirements :  EZDO requires an IBM or compatible PC using DOS 2.x or 3.x.
    Optional color can be displayed using a Color Graphics Adapter.  Underline and highlight
    features are used for those with just a monochrome adapter.

FCDoc
                        Load PGM2080

        The FCDOC program compares two English text files and lists the differences between
    them sentence by sentence.  FCDOC works with any ASCII text file containing English text.
    FCDOC provides the following benefits :  FCDOC ignores format differences, so changes in
    margins, indentation, and white space are ignored;  FCDOC can show word by word
    differences between sentences that have changed;  FCDOC allows multiple comparisons in
    a single run;  FCDOC allows users to list changes in ways that make sense by providing
    multiple display options;  users can customize FCDOC to use their favorite options
    automatically.

    System Requirements :  FCDOC can be used on any IBM-compatible computer.  Any     display
    adapter that provides 25 lines of 80 characters will work correctly.  FCDOC runs under     MS-DOS
    versions 2.0 and later, but 3.0 or later is required to customize the default options.     The amount of
    memory required is dependent on file size.  100kB is enough for small files,     while up to 425kB
    may be required for large ones.

File / Archive
                        Load PGM2082

        FILE/ARCHIVE is a self-activating utility for analyzing and archiving files on a hard disk.
    Using a variety of criteria set by the user, the system looks for files which may no longer be
    active and offers the opportunity to either remove them completely or archive (move) them
    from their current location.  Technically a hard disk is not required, but the system's value is in
    its ability to scan large amounts of data and automatically select data needing attention.

    System Requirements :  MS-DOS 2.1 or greater;  256kB RAM;  hard disk (strongly     recommended);
    color display optional.

File Patch
                        Load PGM2086

        FILE PATCH is a utility program designed for use by computer consultants, technicians,
    Information Centers, software developers, and those individuals that are responsible for or
    who just wish to "tinker" with PC files.  FILE PATCH provides the ability, at the byte level, of
    on-screen viewing, printer dumping, modifying, extracting, or creating for any DOS data or
    program file of up to ten megabytes in length.

        When displayed on the screen, each character within a file is shown along with its
    corresponding ASCII or HEX value.  The screen may be scrolled one line at at time up or
    down, paged a screen at a time, or repositioned at any point within the file.  Also the file may be
    scanned for a specific occurence of a string of values, and if found, the file will automatically
    be repositioned at the appropriate point.

    System Requirements :  Minimum requirements for FILE PATCH are 256kB memory,     DOS 2.0 or
    later, color or monochrome monitor, and any disk configuration.

FileNotes
                        Load PGM2085

        The FILENOTES program allows users to attach a short note to each file in a directory
    listing.  File Notes are excellent for describing archive files, files that have multiple users, or
    simply as an aid to remembering what's in a file.  FILENOTES make it a breeze to inform
    yourself, and others, on the content, status, and purpose of your files.  The best part is that
    file notes are extremely easy to use, and are always there when needed.

Find Duplicates
                        Load PGM2087

        FIND DUPLICATES is an utility program for IBM PC's equipped with hard disk drives.
    FIND DUPLICATES searches a specified drive and locates all duplicate files.  Once the
    duplicate files have been located, they are displayed on the screen, and can be tagged for
    deletion, viewed, or printed.

    System Requirements :  FIND DUPLICATES requires 256kB of RAM and a hard disk.

FindFile
                        Load PGM2088

        The FINDFILE program searches all of a system's disk drives, including network drives,
    for the occurrence of a given file name.  FINDFILE features a Smart Search algorithm which,
    if the specific file is not found, returns a list of similar file matches.  In addition, the program
    supports the use of the "*" and "?" wildcard values.

FindZZ
                        Load PGM2089

        The FINDZZ program is simple to use search utility program, which provides users
    with a powerful and flexible addition to their computing capability.  The program operates
    from four windows, with each window marked with operating instructions so that most
    customers can operate the program without even reading the manual.  To find a file, enter
    a search pattern consisting of a partial file name  and/or a path, date, and time.  The
    program quickly lists all matching files.  Users may then instantly flip back to narrow the
    search pattern.  A selected file may be viewed or edited from within FINDZZ using any of
    eight editor, word processor, or spreadsheet programs that are included in the package.

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS :  FINDZZ will run on any IBM PC or compatible machine.
    It uses 85kB of memory and can be configured for either a monochrome or color monitor.

Flexibak Plus
                        Load PGM2090

        FLEXIBAK PLUS is a flexible, easy to use, hard disk backup system that takes a
    logical, simple, and unique approach to the backup problem.  With a conventional backup
    system, users are required to make a full backup approximately once a week, and do daily
    incremental backups on separate disks.  To restore from the backup, users must first restore
    the full backup and then each of the incremental backups up to the last backup taken.  With
    FLEXIBAK PLUS, all this is different as the concept of full backups and incremental backups
    is removed.  Instead, users only need to take a full backup once, and all subsequent backups
    are placed on the same backup disks, giving some long term speed increases, simpler file
    restoration, and an improved backup management capability.

FreePack
                        Load PGM2091

        The FREEPACK program package consists of the following five DOS utility programs :

        Menu Master is an easy to use menuing program which allows users to set up menus
    for switching directories and starting application programs.  Users can just point to the name
    of the program they want to start (ie., Lotus 1-2-3), and press ENTER.  Menu Master will change
    to the appropriate directory and will automatically start the program.

        SeeShell is a DOS shell that will do everything that the DOS command DIR will do, but it
    will do it faster and will give users a great deal more.  SeeShell will display a sorted listing of
    the directory and will indicate much of the disk is being used, how much is available, how many
    files are in the current directory, and how much space they are using.  Eight procedures may
    be performed on any listing in the directory - copy, delete, execute, move, print, rename, view,
    or change directories.

        Compare allows users to compare two files, byte by byte.

        CopyFile is an intelligent file copier which can copy only the files that are either not on
    the target disk (or directory), or that have been changed since they were last copied.

        View is a simple ASCII text file viewer.

        Where-Is searches each directory in a specified disk for a specific file.  The program
    supports the "*" and "?" wildcard symbols, and output may be redirected to either a file or a
    printer.

    System Requirements :  FREEPACK requires an IBM PC or compatible, 256kB of RAM,
    and either a color monitor or a monochrome monitor.  A hard disk is recommended.  DOS 2.0
    or later is required.  Any PC printer will work.

FX
                        Load PGM2092

        FX (File eXaminer) is a general-purpose file viewer and "byte- zap" utility.  It can handle
    any MS-DOS file of unlimited size, and it is neither constrained by nor optimized for any
    particular file format, whether that be ASCII text, binary, etc.  This program was designed to be
    as fast, flexible, and reliable as possible, working as a sort of "byte-oriented" word processor.

    System Requirements :  FX will run on any IBM PC or true compatible running DOS 3.0
    or higher, and should certainly run without incident on a 256kB system.  (FX will require about
    200kB available memory to run).  FX automatically detects and adapts to a monochrome or
    color system, and selects 25 x 80 text mode if the system is not already in this mode.

GetFile
                        Load PGM2093

        The GETFILE program allows quick searches for any kind of file, even if the file is
    hidden or buried deep down in the dense jungle of directories and subdirectories.  In case
    an exact file name is not available, GETFILE supports the use of wildcard values.  GETFILE
    will list all the files in all the directories which match the given wildcard.  Unlike most other
    similar programs, GETFILE will not only display the location of a found file, but it will also
    change to the appropriate drive and directory of the first complete filename that matches the
    one supplied.

Grep
                        Load PGM2094

        The GREP program package includes a variety of useful DOS utility programs - Grep
    Directory, Grep Copy, Grep Delete, Grep Grep, Grep Move, and Grep WhereIs.  Command
    line options allow file matching for a specified set of characters, except for a specified set of
    characters, for the start of a filename, for the end of a filename, with the use of the "*" and "?"
    wildcard characters, etc.

Hype Utilities, The
                        Load PGM2130

        THE HYPE UTILITIES (Volume 1) is a collection of useful DOS utility programs.
    Included are the following :

    ALL2DAY.EXE            Lists all files on disk created today.
    APATH.COM            Adds a directory to your PATH.
    BEEP.COM            Beeps.
    DIRS.EXE            Lists directory names only.
    FF.EXE            Searches the whole disk for a file.
    FREE.COM            Displays available disk space.
    MEM.COM            Displays memory statistics.
    RESTPATH.COM            Changes to a directory whose name was saved
                     in a file with SAVEPATH.COM.
    SAVEPATH            Saves the current directory for later use by
                     RESTPATH.COM.
    SHOWTIME.COM            Displays the day, date, and time in an attractive
                     format.
    TIMER.EXE            Times program execution.
    TODAY.EXE            Lists all files in the current directory that were
                     created today in a DIR-like format.

JLock
                        Load PGM2095

        JLOCK is a memory resident utility which controls access to a list of file names so that
    the user can control whether certain files may be opened, created, executed, deleted,
    renamed, or allowed to change file modes.  Since files must be opened before they can be
    copied, JLOCK controls file copying also.  A user-written list of files along with allowed access
    types will be read in, every time JLOCK is executed.  The list can have up to 200 file names
    and the settings can be viewed at any time from the program's pop-up menu.

Kym's Disk Utilities
                        Load PGM2096

        The KYM'S DISK UTILITIES package consists of five useful DOS utility programs -
    KILLDIR, YCOPY, MOVE, DISKPARA, and HD_SPEED.

        KILLDIR erases a specified directory and its complete contents.

        YCOPY, similar to the DOS XCOPY program, is a copy program which can duplicate
    whole directory structures, as well as single files.

        MOVE allows users to move files and whole subdirectories from one directory to
    another.  The program does not physically move these files, but it actually rearranges a
    disk's directory structure in an appropriate manner.

        DISKPARA displays the DOS internal Disk Parameter Table.

        HD_SPEED measures a hard disk's average cylinder access time in milliseconds.
    The program also displays this information together with the disk's size and the number of
    cylinders, heads, and sectors.

Leoce Toolkit
                        Load PGM2097

        The LEOCE TOOLKIT package consists of a variety of useful DOS utility programs.
    The DLT utility is  multiple-file deletion program.  ENTAB is a file processing utility which
    converts strings consisting of spaces into the appropriate tab characters.  HEAD is an ASCII
    text viewer utility which displays a specified number of lines from an ASCII text file.  The TAIL
    utility, like HEAD, displays ASCII text, but from the bottom of the file rather than the top.  The
    MERGE program is a C-programming utility which combines Turbo C .A output and .C source
    code files.  PR prepares formatted text files to allow output to a file or to a printer.  SIZEOF
    returns the number of bytes appropriated by a specified file.  The STGMAP utility generates
    a system memory report, specifying all programs using system memory.  The TEE file
    viewer redirects file contents to both the display screen and to a DOS file.  The TP file viewer
    utility displays files in a way similar to the UNIX MORE command.

Lightwave Utilities
                        Load PGM2098

        The LIGHTWAVE UTILITES package consists of a useful collection of DOS directory
    utility programs.  Included are WHERE, LS, and DR.  WHERE is a file search program which
    scans through an entire drive for a specified file.  Filenames and wildcards are accepted.  LS,
    like the UNIX program of the same name, displays a sorted columned list of files for the
    current directory.  DR, similar to LS, gives a sorted columned list, but also includes file sizes.
    However, only drives A: and B: are accepted.

List
                        Load PGM2064

        The LIST program from Buerg Utilities consists of a powerful file viewer and browser.
    LIST may be used to display files on a monitor, line by line with the aid of scrolling, positioning,
    and filtering commands.  The program features a variety of commands which go beyond
    usual file viewing and browsing and file management control.  The package comes with three
    versions of LIST - LISTS (small), LISTR (regular), and LIST (plus).

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS :  The LIST.COM program requires about 64kB of memory.  If
    more memory is available, it is used to store more of the file in memory.  At least 80kB is
    required to use the DOS shell, and 9kB more is required if the screen saving option is enabled.
    PC DOS Version 2.0 or later is required.  DOS version 3.0 or later is required for file sharing.

ListBack
                        Load PGM2099

        The LISTBACK program lists all files and directories that are stored on backup
    diskettes which were created with the DOS 3.3 BACKUP command.  LISTBACK lists each
    directory followed by all the files that were copied from that directory.  The filename, size,
    date, and time are listed for each file.

Lockout
                        Load PGM2100

        LOCKOUT is an easy-to-use enhanced system security program which uses password
    protection.  The program is not designed to be absolute protection against malicious or
    snoopy people, but it will keep out all but the most sophisticated users.  While LOCKOUT is
    running, <Ctrl>-C, <Ctrl>-<Break>, and  <Ctrl>-<Alt>-<Del> are all inactive.  The only possible
    way to exit LOCKOUT is by entering the password or by shutting the computer off.

    System Requirements :  LOCKOUT requires 128kB of RAM and a hard disk drive.  It will     run on
    any display adapter.

LPTX
                        Load PGM2101

        The LPTX program intercepts the 17h BIOS interrupt, the line printer interrupt, and
    redirects the output of LPT1, LPT2, or LPT3 to a disk file.  LPTX is most useful for programs
    which do not allow this optional redirection of printer data to ASCII text files.

    System Requirements :  LPTX requires DOS 2.0 or later.  Version 6.00 of LPTX uses     about 20kB of
     memory for the resident data buffers and interrupt handler.

MasDir
                        Load PGM2103

        The MASDIR package consists of the SDL (Sorted Directory Listing) program that is
    used in place of the DOS DIR command.  Users can invoke it from the DOS prompt, just like
    DIR, and SDL accepts the same file specifications that DIR does, including paths and wild
    cards.  SDL includes the following features :  sorts the listing alphabetically by name, or
    optionally by extension, date, size, or (like DIR) not at all; automatically formats the listing in
    the number of columns that will fit all the file names on one screen, if possible;  SDL pauses
    after each screen until the user is ready to continue; options are selectable on the command
    line by adding them to the SDL command (like /P or /W for the DIR command);  options can
    also be selected from a menu that is presented at the bottom of the screen at the end of each
    screen of the listing.  In addition, the program includes a tutorial and an interactive
    demonstration.

    System Requirements :  SDL is compatible with all computers running under MS or     PC-DOS
    versions 2.0 and later and requires no more than 64K of memory.  SDL supports all     types of
    monitors and display adapters, whether it be monochrome or color.

Master Key Utilities
                        Load PGM2113

        THE PROFESSIONAL MASTER KEY UTILITIES consists of the following group of
    eight menu-driven disk utility programs.

        PROFESSIONAL MASTER KEY (PMK) - PMK is much more than a mere sector editor.
    It also edits, manipulates, renames, erases, and most importantly, undeletes files.

        FILL DISK - FILL DISK writes any message on all free sectors on a disk leaving
    existing files alone.  It can also zero all unused sectors, removing all traces of old file data.
    The uses of FILL DISK are many, ranging from stamping a hard disk with a user's name and
    address (to provide a positive means of identifying it in the event of a theft) to merely
    clearing out remnants of previous work.

        FILE SORT - FILE SORT rearranges the order of filenames on a disk.  It can sort
    filenames according to their name, extension, date, time, or size, all in either ascending or
    descending order.  It also allows users the flexibility to rearrange the order of file names in
    a directory arbitrarily.

        UN FORMAT - Protecting against accidentally formatting a hard disk is what
    UNFORMAT is all about.  When used regularly it protects hard disk users from losing their
    files and data after an accidental hard disk format.

        ZERO DISK - ZERO DISK removes all traces of all data from a disk.  Unlike FILL DISK,
    which can optionally zero unused sectors of a file while leaving all existing files untouched,
    ZERO DISK completely eliminates all existing files along with everything else.

        ZERO FILE - ZERO FILE removes all traces of a file's current data from disk.  A file
    deleted by MS-DOS could later be recovered on the disk using PMK.  However, a file zeroed
    with ZERO FILE cannot be recovered, in any way, from that disk.

        TINY EDIT - TINY EDIT is a small, no-frills text editor and file viewer for use with
    "config.sys" and "autoexec.bat" files.  A strong feature of TINY EDIT is its small size.  Hence,
    TINY EDIT is useful for inclusion on a floppy disk when space is at a premium.

    System Requirements :  To run, THE PROFESSIONAL MASTER KEY UTILITIES     require the
    following "standard" equipment :  IBM PC/XT/AT or somewhat compatible     computer;  MS-DOS or
    PC-DOS 2.0 or later;  any display monitor;  128kB free memory;  any     disk drive configuration.

Match-Maker
                        Load PGM2104

        The MATCH-MAKER program locates and, at the user's option, deletes all duplicate
    files on a user-selected drive.  The user choose which file attributes qualify as a "match" -
    any combination of identical file names, extensions, dates, or sizes may be used.

Memos&More
                        Load PGM2105

        The MEMOS&MORE program package is a workfile based manager which provides
    the basic tools to increase PC productivity.  With MEMOS&MORE, the File Companion, the
    user can do the following :  attach a memo (up to 500 lines of text) to each directory entry;
    launch the MEMOS&MORE work file after a creating application has been terminated;
    HotKey out to other utilities or applications using the selected files as input; DOS command
    interface (copy, move, delete files & memos ...); a QuickView feature to look at other
    directories/drives; a user definable TEXT Editor.

    System Requirements :  Memos&More requires an IBM compatible machine running
    MS-DOS Ver 2.1 or higher with at least 370 kB free memory.

OnBoot
                        Load PGM2106

        The ONBOOT program is a simple utility designed for use in "autoexec.bat" batch files.
     ONBOOT allows the "autoexec.bat" to run selected programs only during a warm boot
    (Ctl-Alt-Del), a cold boot (power on), or a first boot of the day.  For example, placing the
    command "onboot daily chkdsk" into "autoexec.bat" will cause a computer to run the DOS
    CHKDSK program only once a day, the first time the computer is turned on.

    System Requirements :  ONBOOT requires DOS 3.0 or later for use in DAILY mode     and DOS 2.0
    or later for use in WARM/COLD modes.

PC-Browse
                        Load PGM2107,

        PC-BROWSE was designed as a memory-resident utility to help users search a file
    (or files) for occurrences of a specified text string.  Users bring up the PC-BROWSE window
    over their application program, enter the name of the file to be searched and the text string
    to be found, and press the search key.  PC-BROWSE quickly finds and displays the
    appropriate information.  Pressing the search key again will continue the search so that
    additional occurrences of the text can be identified.  Relevant information from the search
    may be pasted into an application program, copied to a file, or printed out.  In addition,
    PC-BROWSE offers some "navigational" tools, or place markers, so that users can quickly
    move back and forth between pages of text.

    System Requirements :  PC-BROWSE requires an IBM PC compatible computer.     The program
    is memory-resident, requiring about 60kB of free conventional memory or 3kB     of EMS memory.

PC-Util

        The PC-UTIL package consists of a useful collection of DOS utility programs.  Included
    in the various .ARC archive files are the following programs :

Peruse
                        Load PGM2110

        The PERUSE package basically consists of a file reader, a program enabling users
    to examine or "peruse" the contents of disk files.  It can read and display ASCII (text) or
    binary (non-text) files.  PERUSE can access an almost unlimited number of files at a time
    and those files can be of any size.  PERUSE can display the contents of files in either text or
    hex format.  In addition, PERUSE provides complete search, block, and print capabilities.
    It also includes extensive context-sensitive and indexed (hypertext) help, available at the
    touch of a key or click of a mouse.

Pik
                        Load PGM2111

        The PIK program is a useful DOS utility which allows users to "pick" files directly from
    the standard DOS directory display to mark for Deleting, Copying, Moving, or Zipping into
    a .ZIP compressed format file.

Puff
                        Load PGM2114

        PUFF is a directory and file browser which pops up on demand.  Once installed, users
    can call PUFF at any time by pressing a user-defined hot-key.  PUFF gives users the ability
    to browse directories and both ASCII and non-ASCII files within other programs, such as word
    processors, spreadsheets, debuggers, or even at the DOS prompt.  PUFF is intended to be
    very easy to use and contains several screens of on-line help.

        PUFF makes it possible to do things like :  browse the source of a program while
    debugging it;  check the name of a file in a directory before loading it into a spreadsheet;
    quickly move up and down a directory tree looking for a file;  check when a particular file was
    last saved;  copy part or all of one file into an editor or word processor;  see how much room
    there is on a diskette before saving a file;  erase, copy, or rename files at any time.

    System Requirements :  PUFF uses between 29kB and 42kB of memory when resident
    (depending on installation options).  It runs under DOS 2 or 3 on any model PC and will work
    on both monochrome and color display adapters.

PutPass
                        Load PGM2115

        The PUTPASS program package is a utility that adds code to an executable file so
    that a password must be supplied before the executable can be executed.  The command
    "putpass myfile.com" places a password protection code into a resulting "myfile.cpm" output
    file.  This output file may then be renamed back to the original "myfile.com" format.
    Unfortunately, PUTPASS currently only handles .COM format files.

    System Requirements :  The PUTPASS program was designed for use on an IBM     Personal
    Computer using DOS 3.0 and greater, but should work on DOS 2.x systems as well.     However, it
    has not been tested on older DOS versions nor on IBM compatibles.

Quickie
                        Load PGM2116

        The QUICKIE program package is a versatile text manipulation and retrieval utility.
    It allows a user to browse through a pure ASCII, WordStar, or Office Writer file, select and
    unselect text for retention, and dump it to an output file for combination into reports or for
    import into word processor files.  QUICKIE can call files from the command line or can prompt
    the user for an input filename.  Hitting the "+" key at the filename input prompt will call up a
    directory listing which can be used as a menu for file selection.  QUICKIE is most useful for
    compiling reports from documents in a number of different formats.

Read My Disk!
                        Load PGM2118

        The READ MY DISK! program utility was designed to recover ASCII data from a floppy
    or hard disk that has been severely damaged.  This damage can be in the form of missing
    File Allocation Tables, missing Directories, deleted files, magnetically damaged disks, disks
    with holes in them or disks that have been contaminated in any way.  The data that is
    recovered from the damaged disk is written to ASCII format files on another disk, where they
    can then be read, edited, and formatted by a word processor or text editor.

    System Requirements :  READ MY DISK! requires an IBM PC or PC compatible with at
    least 256kB RAM, two floppy drives or one floppy and a hard drive, and an 80 x 25 display
    monitor.

Read.com
                        Load PGM2119

        The READ.COM program is a simple ASCII file reader utility; it displays, pages, and
    scrolls ASCII files up to a practical limit of about 512K in size, and up to 960 screens in length.
    READ.COM features automatic screen numbering, screen switching, and display attribute
    control.  In addition, READ.COM supports the use of a mouse.

Run
                        Load PGM2117

        The RUN program is a hard disk utility designed to help users execute other programs.
     Hard-disk users generally must change to a proper directory, execute the program, and then
    change back to the original (or some other) directory when finished.  Or they can use the
    PATH command to specify where DOS should look for programs to run;  unfortunately, some
    programs do not work when they are run from another directory.  RUN searches a hard disk
    for a specified program, changes to its directory, executes the appropriate commands to run
    the program (optionally passing any parameters to the program), and then returns to the
    original directory.

    System Requirements :  RUN takes up about 25kB of RAM only when in use.  It is not a
    Terminate-and-Stay-Resident (TSR) program.

Securase
                        Load PGM2120

        The SECURASE program is a secure file delete utility.  The program will prompt the
    user for a name of the file to be erased, or a filename can be entered at the DOS command
    prompt as a parameter.  The purpose of this program is to delete files in a manner that is
    unrecoverable.  SECURASE will write over a specified file several times before deleting it,
    using the following scheme :  first, the file is overwritten with binary zeros;  second, the file is
    overwritten with binary ones; third, the file is overwritten with random garbage;  fourth, the file
    is renamed to "serased.xxx";  fifth, the file is deleted.  It is understandable why file recovery
    techniques cannot return a file deleted by this method.  Even if the file is reconstructed, the
    disk space it once occupied contains garbage.

SetAttr
                        Load PGM2122

        The SETATTR program is a powerful and easy to use utility that helps users set file
    attributes (ie normal, hidden, read-only or system) for their files.  One of the major advantages
    of SETATTR is that it supports the use of wild cards and directories, thus saving users a lot
    of time and hassle.  SETATTR will also display the name of the files being modified along
    with the corresponding change.  SETATTR is ideal for use on networked systems, where
    shared resources can be made private.

Slice
                        Load PGM2123

        The SLICE package consists of two useful utility programs, SLICE and JOINER.  SLICE
    will take a file of any size greater than 10 kB and split it into a series of smaller segment files.
    A maximum "slice" size and an output filename may be specified by the user.  This operation
    is useful for transferring large files that may not fit on standard low-density diskettes.  After
    transferring the "sliced" files, the JOINER program may be used to regenerate the original file.

Slim
                        Load PGM2124

        SLIM is a powerful, but easy to use file compression system which gives the user
    painless access to compressed files.  SLIM operates by intercepting DOS calls, allowing
    other program applications to read compressed files just as easily as before compression.
    Thus, users need not worry about technicalities such as archives.  A proprietary algorithm
    significantly compresses almost all file formats found on PC's, thereby giving big savings on
    disk space.  SLIM's compact size (less than 24kB) makes it practical for floppy as well as
    hard disk machines.

    System Requirements :  IBM PC or MS-DOS machine, MSDOS version 2.00 or higher,     and 256kB
    RAM (the RAM resident part of SLIM uses 73kB of main memory).

Sort Directory
                        Load PGM2126

        The SORT DIRECTORY (SD) program is a disk information utility which provides
    more information than the resident DOS DIR command about the files on a disk and allows
    the user to select, sort, format, and display the information in a variety of ways.  This is
    accomplished by specifying a pattern name to select the desired files and by specifying
    any of a variety of command line switches.  Default switch values have been carefully chosen
    to reflect the most common usages of SD.  In addition, a memory resident (TSR) version of
    SD is included.

    System Requirements :  SD operates on PC compatible computer systems using     PC-DOS or
    MS-DOS version 2.0 or higher.  This version of SD requires about 14kB of disk     space and about
    32-64kB of memory during execution, depending on the number of files     and directories being
    processed.  Support is provided for IBM-PC compatible  MDA, CGA,     MCGA, EGA, and VGA video
    adaptors and monitors.

SUP
                        Load PGM2127

        The SUP program utility automatically removes copy protection from most Sierra
    On-Line games, including the very popular King's Quest series and many more.  An
    "express" option will allow users to unprotect all Sierra games installed on their hard disk in
    a matter of seconds, making this the fastest Sierra "unprotector" available.

        The TECHSTAFF TOOLS COLLECTION program package consists of 12 useful
    DOS utility programs.  Included in the collection are TSI (System Information), HFV (Huge File

    TFE (File Exist), TFS (Free Space), TMT (Mouse Tester), TSM (Stamp Manager), TTC

Tiny Editor
                        Load PGM2131

        PC Magazine's TINY EDITOR program is a simple to use ASCII text processor utility.
    TINY EDITOR supports all of the most basic word processing command functions, including
    cut-and- paste and undelete.

To_Quick
                        Load PGM2132

        The TO_QUICK program enables users to navigate "the DOS seas" without having
    to use the ':' and '\' shoals and without falling over the 'cd·\name1\name2\name3' waterfall.
    Users can move from drive to drive or from directory to directory simply by typing commands
    such as 'to a' or 'to dos' or 'to doc.87.'  TO_QUICK uses either command line operation or
    menu operation.

TwoDisks
                        Load PGM2134

        The TWODISKS program is an MS-DOS external utility program which will READ
    and COMPARE the directories of two diskettes and display the results of the comparison.
    Users may subsequently copy or move files between the diskettes or delete files from one
    or both of the diskettes.

TXT2COM
                        Load PGM2129

        The TXT2COM program is a useful utility which converts an ASCII text file into an
    executable full screen display.  It is useful for documentation and for "readme" files which
    can be shown on the screen and then printed out.  The .COM file created by TXT2COM is
    easy to use and intuitive.  There is a help line on the bottom of each screen and an optional
    title line at the top.  Cursor controls allow easy movement around the file and the Esc key
    allows program exit.

Xanadu Utilities
                        Load PGM2138

        The XANADU UTILITIES package is a collection of small but useful utilities which
    were designed to help users get the most out of their PC's.  Descriptions for the five included
    programs are as follows :

    HDIR        HotDIR is a colorful sorted directory program which displays filenames
            using different colors, depending upon the appropriate file extension.

    PCSTATPC        Status Utility displays Disk/RAM statistics and other information in a similar
            format as the DOS CHKDSK utility.

    SFIND        Super File Find finds files fast anywhere on a disk, even inside archieved
            .ARC format files.

    CURSORM        CURSORM resets a monochrome display cursor back to its normal default
            style.  This is useful after an application program changes the cursor to a
            blinking blob, etc.

    CURSORC        CURSORC is identical to CURSORM except that it is designed for color
            monitors.

XDOS
                        Load PGM2139

        The XDOS (EXTENDED DOS) package is a collection of utility programs designed
    to provide additional or enhanced PC-DOS or MS-DOS capabilities.  XDOS consists of the
    following six utilities :

    ALARM        An alarm clock function.

    LOCK        Provides the ability to lock and hide files.

ZippyDir
                        Load PGM2140

        The ZIPPY DIR utility program is a file directory program which may be used as a
    replacement for the standard DOS DIR command.  ZIPPY DIR supports all of the standard
    DOS DIR command options.  In addition, it includes many expanded features and options
    of its own.  These features include the following :  all displayed numbers have commas for
    easy reading;  all directories include system and hidden files, with file attributes included in
    the display;  file date and time stamps are in easy to read formats; wide and normal display
    modes are supported;  display can be paused automatically after each full screen of
    information; display can be limited to only executable or non-executable files;  normal and
    reverse wildcards are supported in filenames.

    System Requirements :  ZIPPY DIR will run on any IBM compatible computer using     MS/PC-DOS
    version 2.00 or greater.

Miscellaneous Utilities
AutoCon
                        Load PGM2017

        The AUTOCON program is a database manager for AUTOEXEC.BAT and
    CONFIG.SYS files.  The program enables users to keep up to fifty different configurations,
    and to change easily between those configurations.  In addition, AUTOCON incorporates
    a full-screen editor to make it easy to change the AUTOEXEC/CONFIG records.  The editor
    uses Turbo IDE/Sidekick/WS-compatible keystrokes, and AUTOCON provides an on-line
    help file which details all these keystrokes.

Back Scroll!
                        Load PGM2018

        The BACK SCROLL! program is a bi-directional scrolling utility.  Once activated,
    BACK SCROLL! will buffer the screen scrolling so that the user may recall, with a few simple
    keystrokes, data that has previously been scrolled off the screen .  The user may either scroll
    by line or by page through BACK SCROLL!'s buffer. In addition, BACK SCROLL!'s printer
    commands allow the user to select and print any data that is currently in the buffer.

    System Requirements :  BACK SCROLL! will only support the eighty column text display
    mode of either the color or monochrome display card.  When loaded and running, requires
    approximately 6.7kB of memory.  Another 2kB are needed per screen of buffer.

Blank-It
                        Load PGM2022

        BLANK-IT is a memory resident screen-saver program that will black out a computer
    display after a certain "timeout" so that the computer screen won't become burned-in.
    BLANK-IT defaults to a timeout of 10 minutes, however this timeout can be changed by
    entering a new timeout on the command line.  Valid timeouts are specified in minutes, and
    can range between one and 59.  As long as keys are being pressed, the screen will not blank
    out, and there will be no evidence that BLANK-IT is even running.  However, if the timeout
    period is exceeded since the last key press, then the screen will blank.  When the space bar
    is pressed, the screen will reappear and the user will be right where he/she left off.

BossKey
                        Load PGM2023

        The BOSSKEY package includes the BOSSKEY, SCRSAVE, SHOW-IMG, NEW-IMG,
    and CONV-IMG programs.  BOSSKEY is a memory resident program for covering up a
    computer screen with a previously saved SCRSAVE-format image.  The SCRSAVE program
    is a memory resident program for capturing the screen of a program and saving it to disk as
    a SCRSAVE-format file.  These files can be viewed using the SHOW-IMG utility and can be
    made the default BOSSKEY image using the NEW-IMG program.  CONV-IMG can be used to
    convert SCRSAVE-format files to a text files containing the representation of the screen in a
    C array.

Colorado Utilities
                        Load PGM2024

        The COLORADO UTILITIES package consists of six useful utility programs :
    CUDUP - Duplicate File Manager, CUFND - Fast File Find, CUVL - Volume Labeler,
    CUSET - File Set, CUDM - Disk Manager, and CUSRT - Virtual Sort.  CUDUP identifies and
    manages duplicate files, including archives, on multiple drives.  The CUFND program finds
    files fast on your entire system.  CUVL - Colorado Utilities Volume Labeler writes disk labels
    to diskettes, one at a time or in series.  CUSET sets file attributes, date and time quickly from
    the DOS command line.  CUDM reads any size diskette or hard drive, builds a catalog of all
    files, compression libraries and volumes, and then permits retrievals from the catalog to find
    and report information about those files.  CUSRT -  Colorado Utilities Virtual Sort sorts huge
    files very quickly.

Cut / Paste
                        Load PGM2025

        The CUT/PASTE program is a resident (installed at bootup) utility which can "cut" out
    and save any alphanumeric display on the monitor to paste onto a future application.  The
    program requires only 6kB of memory and supports the usage of a Microsoft-compatible
    mouse.

Display Font Editor
                        Load PGM2026

        The DISPLAY FONT EDITOR program package is a graphics-based editor for DOS
    code page display files (.CPI files) or raw EGA/VGA font files.  The program allows the user
    to create custom fonts that can be loaded into the display adapter and used in place of the
    normal display font.  DISPLAY FONT EDITOR includes a set of utilities that provide useful
    capabilities such as loading fonts to the display, mapping fonts, and converting fonts to ASCII
    text.  These ASCII files may be incorporated directly into a programmer's C source code to
    give any program a custom look.

    System Requirements :  DOS Version: 2.10 or higher;  640kB of RAM;  a floppy drive or
    a hard disk for file storage/retrieval; EGA, VGA, or Hercules display required for DFE, EGA or
    VGA required for use with DFLOAD, DFKEEP, and CPLOAD;  a Microsoft compatible mouse
    and driver are optional, but desirable.

Easy Labels
                        Load PGM2027

        The EASY LABELS program is an on-screen label maker following a "what you see
    is what you print" convention.  EASY LABELS was been developed mainly for small address
    and inventory label requirements, and it has the following features :  100% menu driven,
    permits laying out the label format on the screen, prints up to 999 labels at a printing, etc.

    System Requirements :  EASY LABELS requires an IBM PC/XT/AT or true compatible;
    128kB RAM; IBM CGA or MCGA graphics, or equivalent;  one disk drive is required for
    operation, with two required for installation;  IBM compatible printer;  IBM or MS DOS 2.0 or
    later.

EGA Blank
                        Load PGM2028

        EGA BLANK is a screen blanker program for EGA or equivalent display systems.
    The program blanks the display monitor for a default blank time of 7-1/2 minutes.
    Experienced users can modify the program to obtain variable blank delays.

EGA2RAM
                        Load PGM2029

        EGA2RAM is an EGA enhancement program which copies BIOS code from slow
    ROM to fast RAM in order to increase performance.  EGA2RAM is written as a device driver,
    and as such, it is loaded at boot time by the "device = EGA2RAM.SYS" statement in the
    appropriate CONFIG.SYS file.  EGA2RAM uses 14,832 bytes of RAM (like all device drivers,
    it is RAM-resident), and works only with IBM's EGA.

Explosiv
                        Load PGM2030

        The EXPLOSIV program is a graphical screen-saving utility which prevents pixel
    burn-in on computer video displays.  Rather than simply blanking the screen while the
    computer is running, the EXPLOSIV program displays an attractive always-moving fireworks
    show.  Hence, users never need to wonder whether their computers are turned on or off
    (a typical problem with simple screen blankers).  In addition, users may even find the
    EXPLOSIV fireworks display to be somewhat enjoyable.

    System Requirements :  EXPLOSIV runs on many different video display adapters,     including
    MDA, CGA, EGA, VGA, MCGA, Hercules graphics card, and Hercules graphics plus.

Fancy Label
                        Load PGM2031

        The FANCY LABEL program package was developed for those people requiring
    special labels for just about any reason.  For example, diskette labels, book report labels,
    advertising labels on catalogues, or even freezer labels.  Once set up, users can save and
    retrieve a label and print as many copies as they require.  For each label line, users may
    choose either normal (ie, ten characters per inch), double width, condensed, normal
    compressed (12 characters per inch), or double compressed, in italics or in regular print     style.

    System Requirements :  FANCY LABEL has been tested on with an Epson FX100+,     as well as a
    Star 10X printer, and it should work with any Epson compatible.

Function Key Helper
                        Load PGM2032

        The FUNCTION KEY HELPER program package is a database manager consisting
    of function key (F1, F2, F3, ...) definitions.  All standard database functions are supported;
    function key records can be added, deleted, and changed.  In addition, keyboard templates
    of function key usages may be printed out.  Included with FUNCTION KEY HELPER are 38
    pre-defined function key records for a variety of popular programs - AutoCad v2.5,
    CrossTalk XVI, Lotus 1-2-3 v2.01, Microsoft Word v1.10, QuickBasic v2.0, WordPerfect v4.x,
    etc.

Guardian, The
                        Load PGM2051

        THE GUARDIAN is a security system designed to protect an entire disk (either a
    hard disk or a floppy disk) against unauthorized use.  Individual files on a disk may or may
    not be protected by a password mechanism or an encryption routine.  THE GUARDIAN
    uses an algorithm that logically "locks" a disk so that no files, programs, or directories on
    the disk may be accessed regardless of whether they are otherwise secured.  Although
    designed to primarily protect a hard disk, THE GUARDIAN can just as easily be used to
    lock a floppy disk - a very handy feature for a disk that isn't locked up in a safe every day.

    System Requirements :  MS-DOS 2.1 or greater, 256kB memory, hard disk     (recommended), and
    optional color display.

Label Utilities
                        Load PGM2037

        The LABEL UTILITES package includes two useful labeling utility programs - LABELIT
    and BAKLABEL.

        The LABELIT program quickly and simply prints a batch of identical labels.  Program
    features include :  print any number of duplicate labels;  use up to 12 lines of text;  print on ANY
    printer;  center label automatically;  add a left margin to specifications;  store and retrieve
    labels on disk.

        The BAKLABEL utility prints labels for diskettes used to back up a hard drive.  The
    program is designed to print on typical 15/16" x 3 1/2' continuous-feed labels.

LabelCMT
                        Load PGM2035

        The LABELCMT program is a general purpose label utility for use in business, home,
    or wherever labeling is needed.  Main menu options allow users to Size a label, add Text,
    Modify, Print a label, and access a Label Library.  LABELCMT can be used for creating file
    folder labels, return address labels, inventory/bin labels, etc.

Memory Management Kit
                        Load PGM2038

        The MEMORY MANAGEMENT KIT package is a complete memory manager for
    the IBM PC.  MEMORY MANAGEMENT KIT works in conjunction with MS-DOS version 5.0
    to provide the necessary memory management features that DOS 5 left out :  load TSRs
    and device drivers into high DOS memory on 8088 and 80286 PCs (not just 80386 PCs);
    convert extended memory to expanded memory on a 80286 PC ■ create 64K+ more high
    DOS memory on a 80386 PC;  create up to 32 megabytes of expanded memory from disk
    space;  create up to 736K of low DOS memory;  load TSRs into extended or expanded
    memory;  optimize high memory by automatically determining which order and in which
    memory regions drivers and TSRs should be loaded;  and much more.  MEMORY
    MANAGEMENT KIT consists of the following programs :  VRAM, HRAM, and MIN-MEM.

Mr. Label
                        Load PGM2039

        The MR. LABEL package is a dedicated labeling program that is loaded with
    features.  The user can utilize his/her printer like a typewriter to create one-time labels, or he
    can print a whole list of labels.  Included in the package are several pre-defined formats for
    use with a variety of popular continuous form labels.  Program features include :  print up to
    nine labels across;  use any brand of label - Avery, Rediform, laser labels; use the printer's
    fonts - dot matrix or laser;  etc.

    System Requirements :  MR. LABEL requires an IBM-PC or compatible, one disk drive,
    and 256kB of memory.  A graphics card is not required.  MR.LABEL works with all dot-matrix
    and laser printers and all font cartridges.

NANSI.sys
                        Load PGM2040

        NANSI.SYS is a console driver which understands ANSI control sequences.  It has
    several advantages over the MS-DOS supplied ANSI.SYS driver :  supports new escape
    sequences;  provides MUCH faster output under certain conditions;  supports the 43-line
    mode of the EGA;  the darned bell is now 1/4 second instead of 1/2 second long.
    Depending upon a system's configuration, one of the four included NANSI.SYS versions
    may be used - NANS88.SYS, NANS88B.SYS, NANS286.SYS, NANS286B.SYS.

NewKey
                        Load PGM2041

        The NEWKEY keyboard enhancer simplifies the entry of common keystroke
    sequences by allowing these sequences to be assigned to any key desired.  Once
    assigned to a particular key, whenever that key is struck the predefined sequence of
    keystrokes will be returned in place of the struck key.  For example, the ALT-C key might be
    defined as 'copy', and whenever ALT-C is struck, the string 'copy' will be returned.  In addition,
    NEWKEY allows customization of software packages, ready creation of boiler plate
    passages, help menus, keyboard redefinition, cursor speed up, screen blanker, extended
    keyboard buffer, and other useful purposes.

Painless Event Scheduler
                        Load PGM2042

        The PAINLESS EVENT SCHEDULER program is a revolutionary concept in
    computer software.  PAINLESS EVENT PROCESSOR allows a PC to work 24 hours a day.
    Users simply tell the event processor when to execute programs, batch files, tasks, utilities,
    etc., and at the specified time the keystrokes will be entered into the computer as if the user
    were sitting at the keyboard himself.  PAINLESS EVENT PROCESSOR sits in memory
    (using only 10K), waiting for the real-time clock to trigger an event.  Users can schedule up
    to eight events at one time.  In addition, PAINLESS EVENT SCHEDULER comes with a
    Keystroke Caputuring System.  Hence, users can simply load the keystroke caputuring
    program and start running tasks.

PC Banner
                        Load PGM2043

        The PC BANNER program is an easy to use banner-printing utility.  Users can select
    from one of five different characters for which to make up the banner, or can choose a
    specified ASCII character defined by an integer value from one to 256.  In addition, letter
    height can be defined between one and seven inches.

Postnet
                        Load PGM2044

        The POSTNET program reads a file of addresses, prints each address to a dot
    matrix printer (or a laser printer emulating a dot matrix printer), and adds a United States
    Postal Office postnet bar code.

    System Requirements :  POSTNET requires 64kB of memory, at least one disk drive,
    and a dot matrix printer capable of printing graphics.  Printer drivers for most Epson, IBM,
    and compatible printers are included in the package.

Prism
                        Load PGM2046

        The PRISM program is a text mode VGA color control utility which offers a 262,000
    color palette.  PRISM  operates both as a TSR, popping-up over any text mode program,
    and as a non- resident program, to set colors from batch files.  In either case, PRISM will
    change all colors appearing in the user's applications for a choice of 262,000 colors.

    System Requirements :  IBM or 100% compatible PC's, including XT, AT, and the PS/2
    series;  VGA adapter and color monitor; hard disk drive preferable, with approximately 120kB
    of disk space required;  80kb or 6Kb RAM, depending on mode of operation;  DOS 3.1 or
    above recommended.

PrtLabel
                        Load PGM2047

        PRTLABEL is an easy to use, menu-driven utility which will print labels in a variety of
    formats.  Users input the size and shape of the label and the desired amount of text.  Special
    fonts, such as condensed, double wide, or italics may be specified, and users may choose
    from any of four border types.  In addition, created labels may be saved into the program's
    Label Directory, to be recalled for later use.  PRTLABEL works with virtually any printer,
    although special fonts may be limited by a printer's capabilities.

    System Requirements :  IBM or compatible computer;  256kB of memory;  one diskette
    drive of any kind;  monochrome or color display;  any type Printer.

QuickCRT
                        Load PGM2048

        The QUICKCRT program will speed up any screen access that is made through BIOS,
    whether directly or through DOS first.  QUICKCRT is a collection of highly optimized assembly
    language routines designed to speed up programs that are screen intensive, but use BIOS
    calls to maintain BIOS compatibility.  QUICKCRT is a replacement for the routines in ROM that
    handle screen display functions.  Programs that do not use BIOS are unaffected.  QUICKCRT
    installs itself as a DOS extension, taking less than 2kB of memory.  Immediately after
    installation, any program that calls BIOS for screen output, including DOS itself, will benefit
    from QUICKCRT.

    System Requirements :  IBM compatible video display adapter.

Save Our Screens
                        Load PGM2050

        SAVE OUR SCREENS (SOS) is a Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) program
    which allows users to save and restore text screens to memory and disk.  Up to nine memory
    screens and 90 disk screens are available for this purpose.  SOS can be invoked within most
    text applications -  MDA, CGA, HGC, EGA, MCGA, and VGA text modes are fully supported in
    both 40 and 80 column modes.  A maximum of 50 rows is supported for users of EGA, VGA
    and similar display adapters.  In addition, SOS has the capability to save screen images to
    disk in text/ASCII format.  Screens saved in this manner can be processed by any text or ASCII
    handling program, eg. editors, word processors etc.  For ease of use, all SOS information is
    presented via POP-UP windows, activated by a series of HOTKEYS.

    System Requirements :  SOS requires an IBM PC/XT/AT/PS2 or true compatible that     has its
    display buffer at address 0b000h or 0b800h.  DOS 2.0 or later is required.

SDump
                        Load PGM2034

        The SDUMP program allows users to capture screen images from other programs
    and to save these images into separte .DMP graphical format files.  These .DMP format files
    can be displayed using the included DISPLAY program.  Alternatively, users can also dump
    screen images into .IMG format files to be displayed with the appropriate third party viewer
    program.  Monochrome display users may choose to use the included SDMONO program
    rather that SDAUMP.

SimCGA
                        Load PGM2049

        The SIMCGA program memory-resident utility allows the user to "fool" most software
    requiring a Color Graphics Adapter into using a Hercules (or compatible) monochrome
    adapter in graphics modes.  Graphics images are reproduced in normal aspect ratio, using
    as much of the available screen area as is possible.  The trick used here is to program the
    Hercules graphics card to display more lines of three lines per character time instead of four
    (CGA displays two).  Note that this package contains three programs - SIMCGA, SETCGA,
    SETMONO.  SIMCGA is the memory- resident part and must be run before the CGA simulation
    feature is available.  SETMONO will restore the monochrome-only mode; SETCGA will reset
    CGA compatibility after a SETMONO.

TwinLabl
                        Load PGM2601

        The TWINLABL program is a powerful, user-friendly mailing label printer and     database
    manager.  One-across, two-across, Rolodex, shipping, and standard envelop     labels are
    equally easy for TWINLABL.  Entire mailing lists may be specified for bulk printing,     or
    optionally, any number of a single label may be produced.  In addition to nine user-defined
    categories, the TWINLABL database includes fields for phone numbers, dates, associates,
    and comments.  TWINLABL is ideal for both personal and small office use.

    System Requirements :  TWINLABL requires an IBM PC or compatible computer     running on any
    version of MS-DOS.  A dot-matrix printer is required to utilize the program's     label printing functions.

Ultimate Label Manager
                        Load PGM2602

        The ULTIMATE LABEL MANAGER program was designed to keep track of
    information to be printed on labels.  The program may be used as a label printer for mailing
    address and computer disk labels, and its flexibility permits for application as a general use
    database system.  Complete search and sort functions are available for database
    maintainance and general usage.  On-line help screens are readily retrievable for referencing.
     For convenience, mouse-interfaces and MS-Windows are supported.

    System Requirements :  ULTIMATE LABEL MANAGER will run on any IBM-compatible     computer
    with any display monitor.  At least one disk drive is required, and a hard disk is     strongly
    recommended.

VMIX
                        Load PGM2052

        VMIX is a multitasking and multiuser environment for IBM PC's, PS/2's, and (PC, XT,
    AT, PS/2) compatibles.  Multitasking is supported at the console, in windows, or in full
    screen(s).  All tasks execute concurrently, at the console, at a remote terminal, or at the
    console but running at a remote VMIX server.  Since the console video display can be
    virtualized, users may switch between screens (each with multiple windows).  The VMIX
    environment uses the best from DOS and UNIX in its implementation of the user control shell
    and multitasking.  The user has a choice of two user interfaces :  the VMIX shell, which can
    talk to the DOS shell, or the VMIX pull-down menu's interface which is a multi-threaded
    environment.

XtraTank
                        Load PGM2053

        The XTRATANK program is designed to double the space available on a hard disk
    drive.  THIS IS NOT A HOAX!  And, it does not suffer from the possible speed decreases
    and software incompatibilities as with other disk doubling programs.  Rather than simply
    compressing a hard disk, this program dynamically accesses the hard disk controller at the
    hardware level using a special patented technique.

    System Requirements :  XTRATANK does not work with the following hardware :  Hard
    disk controllers - WEITEK 44C-3014 HDD/FDD controller, NEC 4012d SCSI controller,
    DEL 1046-J Multi I/O controller, and PERSTORE (ARLL or ADRT) controllers.  Hard disk
    drives - IMPRIMIS 304 72mb MFM HD, SEAGATE ST-232 20mb MFM, GOLDSTAR 3340
    80mb MFM.

Zeno
                        Load PGM2054

        The ZENO program is a small, fast, core-resident utility that speeds up certain screen
    writes.  The actual increase in speed is almost three-fold, but the increase actually seen on
    the screen depends on the application program in use.  The following is an example :  with
    BCOMM operating at 9600 bps, the increase is approximately 20-30 percent.  Note , however,
    that only certain programs take advantage of ZENO;  but those that don't ,including PC-Write,
    are usually fast enough without ZENO.
