Included in its abilities are the sorts of features one would expect to find in highly sophisticated telecommunications software: -The ability to emulate a number of popular terminals. -A dialing directory containing one hundred entries. -Automatic redial facilities for connecting with hard to reach numbers. -Several popular file transfer protocols including XMODEM, Kermit, Telink and more. -Command files to control automatic logon and unattended operation. -A DOS gateway which allows you to execute DOS commands or other programs while you are still on line. -A host of additional features, including keyboard macros, disk and printer logging and many others covered in detail on the following pages. Profonedit Plus Load PGM0729 PFE+ is the PROCOMM PLUS dialing directory processor. You only need PFE+ if you use PROCOMM PLUS--and if you use PROCOMM PLUS, you need PFE+. PFE+ lets you work in the same screen colors that you chose for PROCOMM PLUS: no forced "bright yellow on black," no boring repetition of a configuration process. Qmodem Load PGM0707, PGM0775 This TEST DRIVE version of QMODEM is a full-featured modem communications program. VT100, Televideo 925, ANSI and TTY terminal emulations are supported. It has a quick learn mode for beginners and also context sensitive help is provided. Quiktran Load PGM0730 QuickTran is a new telecommunications file transfer program which compresses files as they are sent across phone lines. In standard file transfer protocols (like Xmodem), the computer spends a great deal of time merely waiting to send or receive data. QuickTran puts this time to use - compressing and decompressing data as it comes in or goes out. QuickTran uses a variety of state-of-the-art compression techniques, and picks the one it thinks is best suited to the file being transferred. Head to head comparison of QuickTran to Xmodem demonstrated that QuickTran is, on the average, almost twice as fast. A 1200 baud modem transfers files at the functional equivalent of 2000 baud, a 2400 baud modem at 4000 baud. With certain files, such as spreadsheet and database files, QuickTran is even faster - up to five times as fast as Xmodem. Regardless of what kinds of files are transferred, using QuickTran will result in substantial savings in time and on phone bills. Rcomm Load PGM0745 With RCOMM you can do memory resident uploads and downloads while you do whatever you ought to be doing instead in the foreground. SLMR Load PGM0758 SLMR is an offline mail reader for QWK packets created by the Qmail, Markmail, Rosemail and other QWK doors for PCBoard, the Tomcat mail door for Wildcat BBS, Mjrmail for MajorBBS, and many other QWK mail systems for GAP, Remote Access, RBBS, and other BBS systems. SLMR allows you to read and reply to messages offline, using your favorite word processor or text editor. You save time and connection charges by downloading a mail packet and logging off in a fraction of the time it would take to read and reply messages online. Stardial Load PGM0753 STARDIAL is an Autodialer package for the Starlink user which runs on an IBM and compatible . STARDIAL can be used as a standalone or, if desired,it can be used in conjunction with your favorite communications package. STARDIAL is basically a dialer that acts as an extension to your communications package that allows you to manuever through the Starlink system with a minimum of keystrokes. If you are currently using script files with your communications program, STARDIAL is much faster. Entry of new outdial port numbers and BBS numbers is very simple via STARDIAL's full screen editing functions. STARDIAL's context-sensitive help will allow even an inexperienced user to operate STARDIAL. Supercom Load PGM0732 SUPERCOM is an asynchronous communications package. It allows your IBM PC (c) or compatible to communicate with other computers around the world. DIALER is an electronic phone dialer. It maintains a list of names with associated phone numbers. It can look up an unlimited number of names and instantly dial the correct phone number associated with that name. SUPERCOM allows your PC to communicate over telephone lines at speeds of up to 9600 bits per second. Anywhere in the world where there is a telephone a modem "speaking the same language" as your modem, you can communicate with it. Telemate Load PGM0708, PGM0709, PGM0710 Telemate is much more than a communication program; it is a full featured and flexible communication program with an easy-to-learn and easy-to-use integrated environment. With Telemate, you don't need to use a separate editor, viewer and mouse driver to make a smooth communication. All these features are built into Telemate and they are all accessible through the menus and windows. Multithreading: Telemate has multithreading (or internal multitasking) built-in. While you are dialing or downloading, you can prepare messages, view files, scroll back to the last connection. Or you can have all of them at the same time, each clearly runs in its own window. Mouse support: While the other communication programs still require a mouse-menu TSR to emulate their function keys, Telemate considers the mouse as an input device from the very beginning and, therefore, designs an environment suitable for both mouse and keyboard. Built-in Editor and Viewer: The editor allows you to prepare your messages, edit documents or type letters. And the viewer can display files as references without influencing the editor. Back Scroll: The very large back scroll buffer works just like an editor, you can save parts of the content to files, find text, tag filenames and even quote a message by pressing several keys. Clipboard: Through the clipboard, you can cut and paste text among windows. You can prepare a message in the editor and then copy and paste it to the terminal or you can tag file names from the back scroll buffer and paste it to the terminal. Protocols: Telemate has the most popular protocols built-in, including Zmodem, Ymodem-G, Xmodem, Kermit and CompuServe QuickB. And there are eight slots for external protocols. Easy-to-learn Script Language: Writing a Telemate script program is as simple as writing a BASIC program. If you don't have any experience on programming, the Learn Script mode can generate script files for you. Extensive SALT script language which allows Telix to perform automated logons and many more complicated functions. As an example of the power of script files, the Telix Host Mode is written in the SALT script language. Full access to DOS including a DOS shell, a DOS Command option, and full path support. A Host Mode with file transfers, operator paging, a remote DOS shell, and two access levels. A Chat Mode, keyboard macros, a scroll-back buffer, session capture usage log, translate table, and a variety of other features, detailed in this manual. Above all however, Telix is FAST, and has a powerful, friendly, user interface. The Invisible Link Load PGM0743 The Invisible Link is a general purpose asynchronous communications program. However, it differs from an ordinary communications program in that the Invisible Link is memory-resident and designed to function as a background task executing concurrently with any MS-DOS application program. This means you can dial or transfer files in the background without tying up your computer system. Imagine, you can simultaneously be working in your favorite word processor or spreadsheet and still be dialing a busy number or receiving those important files.
