  14. Notify Sample
  15.  
  16.   DESCRIPTION:
  17.     The Notify sample demonstrates 
  18.     notifications.  An entryfield is displayed 
  19.     that will only accept characters between 'a' 
  20.     and 'z'.  If data is entered that does not 
  21.     match this criteria, a message warning is 
  22.     displayed.

  25.     Sample program for demonstrating
  26.     IObserver, INotificationEvent, and IEntryField.

  28.   HOW TO BUILD THE PROJECT FROM THE COMMAND LINE:
  29.     From within the directory containing the sample, simply type:
  30.          NMAKE
  31.  
  32.   HOW TO BUILD THE PROJECT FROM WITHIN THE WORKFRAME ENVIRONMENT:
  33.     Refer to the standard Workframe BUILD instructions
  34.  
  35.   HOW TO RUN THE PROJECT FROM THE COMMAND LINE:
  36.     From within the directory containing the sample, simply type
  37.     the name of the executable:
  38.          NOTIFY
  39.  
  40.   HOW TO RUN THE PROJECT FROM WITHIN THE WORKFRAME ENVIRONMENT:
  41.     Refer to the standard Workframe RUN instructions
  42.  
  43.   SPECIAL NOTES:
  44.     If the sample fails to execute or 
  45.     abnormally ends, you can get 
  46.     more information about the failure 
  47.     by turning on the ICLUI trace.  
  48.     This is done by setting the 
  49.     environment variable ICLUI_TRACE 
  50.     as follows: 
  51.  
  52.         set ICLUI_TRACE=ON
  53.         set ICLUI_TRACETO=STDERR
  54.     
  55.     ICLUI_TRACETO controls where
  56.     the trace information is reported. 
  57.     With tracing turned on, ICLUI 
  58.     exception text will be written to a 
  59.     standard error file. For example: 
  60.  
  61.         sample >sample.out 2>&1
  62.     
  63.     The exception data is now in the file 
  64.     'sample.out'.
