- VisualAge for C++ comes with several sample programs that demonstrate the
- features of the product. The Guide to Samples notebook contains descriptions
- and instructions for using the samples.

- Use the following links to for information on the particular pages of the Guide
- to Samples notebook:

- The By Component page provides a listing of all the samples, grouped by
- component, the path for finding the files pertaining to the sample, and a brief
- description of the sample. You can see more detailed information and can access
- the sample using the pushbuttons at the bottom of the page.

- To use the Guide to Samples:

- 1. Select the component of samples for which you wish to get information. The
- component is chosen from the drop-down menu entitled Select a Component.

- 2. Select the particular sample you want from the List of Samples displayed
- below. Note that when you select a sample from the list, the path for the
- associated file is displayed in the Location of Selected Sample's Files
- field, and a brief description of the sample and its use is displayed in
- the Description of Selected Sample field.

- 3. To see more information on the selected sample, click on one of the
- pushbuttons at the bottom of the window: View Readme opens the Editor with
- the detailed description of the Sample's function and purpose, as well as
- classes and concepts used in its construction; Open Project accesses the
- WorkFrame project for the sample; and, View Build Notes accesses the
- generic build instructions for all the samples.

- To exit the Guide to Samples notebook, select the Cancel pushbutton, or
- double-click on the upper-left corner of the window.
