  1. The vr3a application displays text files on the s3a in Vertical orientation.
  2.  
  3. It is a type $9003 application for the Series 3a only, it uses
  4. files with a .TXT extension in VR directory, multiple files can be opened
  5. but new files cannot be created. Text is displayed in one of eight fonts
  6. with a choice of mono- or proportional spacing. Lines which are too wide
  7. for the display can be truncated or wrapped according to preference.
  8. The current position in a file, along with font and display mode
  9. information, is automatically retained between invocations. The reader can
  10. advance through the file a line at a time or a page at a time, jump to a
  11. specified line or search for a line contining a specified text string.

  13. To install place vr3a.opa in the /APP directory and vprint.opo in the 
  14. /APP/LIB directory and use <psion-i> from the system screen.
  15.  
  16. The following commands are available
  17.  
  18. <Space> - scroll one page
  19.  
  20. <ctrl-menu> - toggle display of status window
  21.  
  22. <Help> - very brief help.
  23.  
  24. Via menu or hot keys the following commands are provided.
  25.  
  26. <psion-o> - Open another file. The current file position and preferences
  27.             will be saved before the new file is opened. 
  28.  
  29. <psion-b> - Review Bookmarks
  30.  
  31. <psion-v> - About  Vr3a, version info
  32.  
  33. <psion-c> - Count lines in the current file
  34.  
  35. <psion-f> - Find text string in file. Search can start from the current
  36.             position, ie the bottom of the current page or from the
  37.             beginning of the file. Backwards search is not supported.
  38.  
  39. <psion-g> - Find again. Continue search for next occurrence of the 
  40.             specified text string.
  41.  
  42. <psion-j> - Jump to specified line in file.
  43.  
  44. <psion-q> - Set preferences. These include :- Font(Swiss/Roman 8,11,13 or 15), 
  45.             Character widths(proportional/monospaced), Display mode
  46.             (Line truncate/Line wrap/Word wrap/Paragraph)
  47.  
  48. <psion-z> - Zoom in, increase font size.
  49.  
  50. <psion-shift-z> - Zoom out, decrease font size.
  51.  
  52. <psion-x> - Exit
  53.  
  54. Version 1.1 Enhancements.
  55.  
  56. 1. Open file from within VR3A and multiple open files now work.
  57. 2. Kill application from system screen now works unless a Menu or
  58.    Dialog is active.
  59. 3. Controls are now recognized while the screen is being updated.
  60. 4. The Next page is built while you read the one that is on the screen,
  61.    scroll one line control has been removed.
  62. 5. The Set Preferences dialog now includes font size.
  63. 6. Review bookmarks dialog added for housekeeping of entries in vrinit.rc.
