  6. PieDir is short for Pie Directory. It graphicaly displays the
  7. space your files occupy by displaying a pie chart.

  15. To install:
  16. 1) Copy PieDir.opa to the \APP directory
  17. 2) Copy PieDir.pic to the \PIC directory
  18. 3) Install in system screeen

  21. Up      - Move up list
  22. Down    - Move down list 
  23. Right   - Move into directory on current line
  24. Left    - Move to parent directory
  25. Enter   - Calculate total size of each directory in list
  26. Psi-A   - About dialog
  27. Psi-D   - Delete current file
  28. Psi-R   - Returns stats on selected drive
  29. Psi-X   - Exit

  38. Description  -------------------------------------------------

  41. Operation is fairly simple. You move into a directory by
  42. moving the pointer to the directory name and then pressing
  43. the right arrow key. To move up to the parent directory, press
  44. the left arrow key. Pressing Enter will calculate the space
  45. occupied by the directory you are currently in and all files
  46. and directories below your current position. It's easier to
  47. understand by doing it than by me trying to explain it.

  49. If you have a flash disk in one of the drives, PieDir can tell
  50. you how much space is "wasted". "Wasted" space occurs when
  51. a file on a flash disk is deleted. The file disappears, but
  52. the free space on the drive does not increase. The only way to
  53. reclaim the free space is to reformat the drive.

  60. Scrolling will sometimes leave stray marks in the list. The
  61. marks are from ascenders/descenders which are not completely
  62. erased when scrolling up or down.

  68. The number of clusters a file occupies is not calculated. As a
  69. result, the physical "space" a file uses on the internal drive
  70. can be off by a large margin.

  72. The maximum number of files PieDir can display has been fixed
  73. at 130.

  75. I developed PieDir using a S3a with 512K memory and a 512K
  76. flash disk.

  78. Unmodified copies of PieDir may be distributed freely. PieDir
  79. may not be distributed with the intent of making a profit
  80. from its distribution. I reserve all rights to PieDir.

  82. Programming tip request: I need at least a "PAUSE 4" in my
  83. main loop in order for auto-turn-off to work. This slows
  84. down the program response. Does anyone know how to get auto-
  85. turn-off to work without using a "PAUSE" command?
