  23.     AlarmOFF was written to copy an Agenda File ignoring the alarms in the file.  Optionally, the "To Do" items may be ignored.  The result of running the program will be a copy of the input agenda file, sans alarms and optionally sans To Do list items.
  24.     To install AlarmOFF, copy the Alarmoff.OPA file to your /APP directory.  From the system screen, press Psion-I.  Highlight AlarmOFF.OPA and press Enter.
  25.     After starting the program, the user is presented with a dialog to specify the input agenda file, the output file, and the option of not copying the To Do items.  Neither the input nor the output agenda file may be open by any other program while running AlarmOFF.  If the output file exists, it will be overwritten.  To execute the filter, select Run from the menu, or press Psion-R.
  26.     The values typed in are saved in a configuration file that will be used the next time the program is run.  The only way to create a new configuration file is from the system screen.  Move the highlight to a file below the AlarmOFF application and press Psion-N.
  27.     Why would one write such a program, you may ask.  The reason roots itself in why I bought the Psion Series 3a in the first place:  I bought two s3a systems, one for me and one for my wife, so we could better synchronize our schedules.  We were constantly making engagements that conflicted with other obligations.  By each of us keeping our own schedules on our own s3a, and then frequently uploading our agenda to our home PC and downloading the other person's agenda, we could keep informed.  We usually constantly have both agendas open and a press of the Agenda key toggles between them.  The only problem was each other's alarms.  Each time I downloaded her agenda or she downloaded mine, we each had to go through and turn off each alarm.  Several people on the internet suggested that each of us could use a custom WVE file that would not be on the other person's s3a, but silent or not, the alarms would go off.  Lacking an option on the s3a to turn off alarms for a given agenda file, I task myself to write such a program, and here it is.
