  45. 1.1a What is WebSurf ?
  46.  
  47.      It's an application that allows you to read HTML-format files.
  48.      You'll be able to surf the Web while in the subway...
  49.      Please note that this application doesn't yet allow you to
  50.      be connected to Internet, but only to read the files
  51.      off-line.
  52.      WebSurf can speak English, Italian, Norwegian, French,
  53.      Swedish or German.

  86.      How to install the program:
  87.        a. copy the file WebSurf.opa into an \APP\ directory
  88.           on any drive (A, B or Internal).
  89.        b. create a directory \WEBSURF\ inside the \APP\ directory
  90.           and copy into it WEBSURF.PIC.
  91.        c. create a directory \WWW\ and copy into it MANUAL.HTM
  92.           and WEBSURF.PIC. create a \WWW\CACHE\ directory on
  93.           the internal disk.
  94.        d. create a \MANUAL\ directory inside the \WWW\ directory
  95.           and copy into it *.HTM AND *.PIC and *.WRD (in fact, all
  96.           the remaining files).
  97.        e. Install the application icon into the system screen
  98.           like any other app (Psion-I).
  99.        f. Select Manual under the icon, and press Enter. Here
  100.           you are!

  102. 1.1c Upgrade
  103.  
  104.      If you were using WebSurf before, copy all listed
  105.      files over the old ones. Then create a \WWW\CACHE\ on
  106.      the internal disk
  107.  
  108. 1.1d Quick use
  109.  
  110.      A list of *.htm files in the \WWW\ directory appears under
  111.      the WebSurf icon in the system screen. Then using WebSurf
  112.      is nearly the same as for the word processor.
  113.      I strongly suggest that you read the manual, that has been made
  114.      under the HTML file format, whether with WebSurf, or any other
  115.      HTML Browser, like Netscape. It's the file MANUAL.HTM.

  117. 1.2a Registration
  118.  
  119.      What is shareware ?
  120.      ---------------------
  121.      A shareware is an application you can freely use, so that you can
  122.      evaluate it. When you think that the program suits your needs,
  123.      you register to show the author your appreciation for his work.
  124.      Registering allows you to access all the features of the program.
  125.  
  126.      Why would you register ?
  127.      ------------------------
  128.      I spent many hours working on this program, that's why I turned
  129.      WebSurf into a shareware application.
  130.  
  131.      If you register, you'll have the following advantages:
  132.       - You will get a registration code which will allow you to access
  133.         to all the program's features, and will disable any nag screen ;
  134.       - You will automatically receive any new version if you gave me
  135.         your email address ;
  136.       - You can ask for WebSurf to talk your language if it isn't
  137.         already the case ;
  138.       - You will of course be a registered user for any new version.

  140.      Moreover, this will help me when I am fired from my school,
  141.      because the hours I spent writing WebSurf didn't go into my
  142.      schoolwork !

  144.      How can I register
  145.      ------------------
  146.      Registration is very easy. Just send 12 English pounds, 100 FF
  147.      or $20 to me, together with your full name, your 'paper'
  148.      and email addresses, and the number of the version you are using.
  149.  
  150.      Please note that I will only be able to send registration
  151.      codes by standard mail until September 1998. No email.
  152.  
  153.      You can send cash, postal money orders or a cheque or Eurocheque
  154.      in FF. Please don't use cheque in other currencies than FF.

  160.      You'll receive as quickly as possible a registration code. Run
  161.      WebSurf, choose 'Register' from the 'Special' menu, and enter your
  162.      full name and the code. That's all. WebSurf will be registered
  163.      to you. No need to re-install or whatever.

  165. 1.2b About GIF decoding
  166.  
  167.      WebSurf v1.7 and up handle GIF pictures, using Serge
  168.      Shestopalov's C library. It is fully working, but
  169.      Serge made it to work until December 31, 1996, and stop
  170.      then. However, a new version of WebSurf will include a
  171.      newer version of the library, and it will go out before
  172.      this date.

  174. 1.3 Legal stuff
  175.  
  176.      This program *seems* to work without major problems, that is,
  177.      the little bugs it has don't *seem* to modify any of the
  178.      data inside the files that are not directly used by the
  179.      program. So, using this program shouldn't modify the
  180.      Series 3 data.
  181.      Anyway, I can't be held responsible in any way for any damage
  182.      that can occur during the use of this program, whatever it is.

  184.      You can distribute this program freely, provided no charge
  185.      greater than copy charge is made for it, and all of the
  186.      files you received with it are present (those are listed

  252. 2.1a Qu'est ce que WebSurf ?

  254.      C'est une application qui vous permet de lire les fichiers
  255.      au format HTML. Vous pourrez ainsi surfer sur le web dans le
  256.      metro...
  257.      Notez que cette application ne permet pas encore de se connecter
  258.      a Internet, mais juste de lire les fichiers hors ligne.
  259.      WebSurf peut parler anglais, francais, italien, norvegien,
  260.      suedois ou allemand.

  294.      Pour installer le programme:
  295.        a. copiez le fichier WebSurf.opa dans le repertoire \APP\ de
  296.           n'importe quel disque (A, B ou Interne).
  297.        b. creez un repertoire \WEBSURF\ dans le repertoire \APP\
  298.           et copiez-y WEBSURF.PIC.
  299.        c. creez un repertoire \WWW\ et copiez-y MANUAL.HTM et
  300.           WEBSURF.PIC. creez un repertoire \WWW\CACHE\ sur le
  301.           disque interne.
  302.        d. create un repertoire \MANUAL\ dans le repertoire \WWW\
  303.           et copiez-y *.HTM et *.PIC et *.WRD (en fait, tous les
  304.           fichiers restant).
  305.        e. Installez l'icone de l'application dans l'ecran systeme
  306.           comme pour une autre application (Psion-I).
  307.        f. selectionnez le fichier MANUAL sous l'icone de WebSurf
  308.           et... c'est parti!

  310. 2.1c Mise a jour
  311.  
  312.      Si vous utilisiez WebSurf avant, recopiez tous les
  313.      fichiers ci-dessus par-dessus les anciens. Ensuite,
  314.      creez un repertoire \WWW\CACHE\ sur le disque
  315.      interne.
  316.  
  317. 2.1d Utilisation
  318.  
  319.      La liste des fichiers *.htm contenus dans le repertoire \WWW\
  320.      apparait sous l'icone du programme. L'utilisation est la
  321.      meme que pour le traitement de texte.
  322.      Il est vivement conseille de lire la documentation, qui est
  323.      au format HTML, soit avec WebSurf, soit avec un Browser HTML
  324.      comme Netscape. C'est le fichier MANUAL.HTM.

  326. 2.2a Comment s'enregistrer
  327.  
  328.      Qu'est-ce qu'un shareware ?
  329.      ---------------------------
  330.      C'est une application que vous pouvez utiliser gratuitement,
  331.      ce qui vous permet de l'evaluer. Lorsque vous pensez que le
  332.      programme correspond a vos besoins, vous vous enregistrez pour
  333.      montrer a l'auteur que vous appreciez son travail.
  334.      En vous enregistrant, vous pouvez de plus a voir acces a
  335.      toutes les fonctions du programme.
  336.  
  337.      Pourquoi est-ce que je m'enregistrerai ?
  338.      ----------------------------------------
  339.      J'ai travaille de nombreuses heures sur ce programme, et je
  340.      continue a en passer. C'est pourquoi j'ai choisi de distribuer
  341.      WebSurf comme un shareware.
  342.  
  343.      Si vous vous enregistrez, vous aurez les avantages suivants:
  344.       - Vous recevrez un code d'enregistrement qui vous premettra
  345.         d'utiliser toutes les fonctions du programme, et qui enlevera
  346.         les ecrans de rappel d'enregistrement ;
  347.       - Vous recevrez automatiquement toutes les nouvelles versions
  348.         de WebSurf si vous m'avez donne votre adresse email ;
  349.       - Vous pourrez demander des ameliorations de WebSurf, et vos
  350.         suggestions seront les premieres a etre prises en compte ;
  351.       - Vous pouvez demander la traduction de WebSurf dans votre
  352.         langue si ce n'est pas encore le cas ;
  353.       - Vous serez bien entendu un utilisateur enregistre pour
  354.         toute nouvelle version de WebSurf.

  356.      Qui plus est, ceci m'aidera quand je serai vire de mon lycee
  357.      parce que le temps que j'ai passe sur Websurf, je ne l'ai
  358.      pas utilise a faire mes devoirs!

  360.      Comment puis-je m'enregistrer ?

  362.      L'enregistrement est tres simple. Il suffit de m'envoyer
  363.      12 livres anglaises, 100 FF ou $20, avec votre
  364.      nom complet, votre adresse "papier", ainsi que le
  365.      numero de la version que vous utilisez.

  367.      Veuillez noter que je ne pourrais envoyer les codes
  368.      d'enregistrement que par courrier standard jusqu'en
  369.      septembre 1998. Pas de courier electronique.
  370.  
  371.      Vous pouvez utiliser de la monnaie, des mandats postaux, ou
  372.      des cheques ou Eurocheques en FF. N'utilisez pas de cheques
  373.      pour une autre monnaie que le FF SVP.

  385. 2.2b A propos des images GIF
  386.  
  387.      WebSurf v1.7 et suivantes sont capables de lire les
  388.      images au format GIF, grace a une librairie en C de
  389.      Serge. Elle est pleinement fonctionnelle, mais Serge
  390.      a fait en sorte qu'elle ne marche plus apres le 31
  391.      decembre 1996. Cependant, une nouvelle version de WebSurf
  392.      sortira entre-temps, vous evitant de vous inquieter a
  393.      propos de cette limitation.
  394.      
  395. 2.3 Responsabilite
  396.  
  397.      Ce programme marche *apparement* bien, c'est a dire que les
  398.      quelques defauts qu'il comporte n'affectent *apparement* pas
  399.      les donnees des fichiers qu'il n'utilise pas. En consequence,
  400.      l'utilisation de ce programme ne devrait pas alterer les
  401.      donnees du Series 3.
  402.      Toutefois, je decline toute responsabilite pour tout dommage
  403.      pouvant survenir, qu'il concerne les donnees du Series 3,
  404.      les personnes l'utilisant, ou tout ce qui peut etre
  405.      altere par ce defaut.

  407.      Vous pouvez recopier ce programme a n'importe qui, a condition
  408.      de le copier gratuitement et avec l'integralite des fichiers
  409.      annexes (liste dans le paragraphe 1.1).

  467.      Bien que vous puissiez distribuer gratuitement ce programme,

  470.      reserve le droit d'interdire ou de restreindre sa diffusion
