  8. This version fixes a couple of bugs to do with files of certain
  9. lengths when looking at the end of the file, and a "feature" in 
  10. the help system.

  12. The cursor right and left keys now scroll the window left/right.

  18. I wrote MYRDR after trying to use various other similar utilities and
  19. realising that I needed facilities that didn't seem to be available.

  21. I am sure that MYRDR will not match all other users expectations but
  22. it does what I want, and that's good enough for me :-)

  25. Features
  26. --------

  28.     * Handles files of (almost) any length.
  29.  
  30.     * Saves the current file position when you open another file or
  31.       when you exit the application.
  32.  
  33.     * Builds an internal table of file pointers allowing you to jump
  34.       to specific lines, quickly.
  35.  
  36.     * Provides "search" and "search again" facilities.
  37.  
  38.     * PGUP/PGDN work as expected and "Space" and "Enter" have the
  39.       same effect as PGDN.
  40.  
  41.     * Configurable TAB size (Default is 4 spaces).

  43.     * You can disable the saving of the file status and line number
  44.       tables (By default they are enabled).
  45.  
  46.     * You can select "Roman" or "Swiss" fonts as well as
  47.       "Proportional" and "Mono-spaced" (Default is Mono-spaced
  48.       Roman).

  50.     * Zoom/UnZoom support '+' and '-' keys as well as the more normal
  51.       "Psion-z" and "Psion-Z".

  56. Installation

  59. Just copy MYRDR.APP to any /APP directory and install it with
  60. Psion-i.

  66. These are in order of "most likely" to be added, but if there is
  67. enough interest I may re-order or add to the list.

  73.     * Automatic re-formatting of paragraphs and justification.

  75.     * User font files (rather than the inbuilt system fonts).

  80. Notes

  83. The first time you run the utility it will create a directory on "M:"
  84. called "MYRDRIDX" in which the file status/configuration files will
  85. be created.
  86.  
  87. When you open a file for the first time MYRDR scans the file and
  88. builds a list of significant points in the file.
  89.  
  90. When you close the file this list, together with the users current
  91. preferences for viewing this file, is saved to M:\MYRDRIDX as a file
  92. of the same name but with .IDX as the extension.

  94. An option is in the "special/configuration" menu list to purge these
  95. files.

  97. Further options allow you to specify what (if any) information is
  98. saved.

  104. Please feel free to use this utility for personal purposes and
  105. distribute it as you see fit, as long as you include this file with
  106. it.

  108. If you intend to use it commercially please have the good manners to
  109. at least ask !

  111. While I am happy to accept constructive criticism, requests for
  112. further enhancements, and bug reports I accept NO responsibility for
  113. problems that this utility may cause.

  115. I have tested this utility as far as I can but in the end it is YOUR
  116. responsibility to back up your system and pick up the pieces if
  117. anything goes wrong !
