- 1. INTRODUCTION
-
- Time Table is a neat utility to help you keep track of your
- classes. It was designed with the university in mind but can
- be adapted to suit your needs.
-
- It displays the current period in real time and also displays
- how much time there is left before the certain period starts or
- ends, depending on it's current status.
-
- This version should work on all Psion 3a's. It should also
- work on the 3c and Sienna but this has not yet been confirmed.
- If you use a Psion other than the 3a, the only way to be sure
- is to upload and test it.
-
- The only major drawback of the current version of Time Table
- is that you are limited to a maximum of 11 periods per day.
- If this is a problem, please contact me. I am planning
- version 2 which should solve this problem. If you have
- any other suggestions for features you would like included
- in version 2, feel free to contact me (address below).
-
- Time Table 1.6 can import files created by earlier versions,
- but will save them out as version 1.6 files.
-
- Full information about using Time Table is available via the
- the built-in help system.
-
- Thank you for getting the new version of Time Table.
-
-
- 2. INSTALLATION
-
- You will need a 3-Link, Mac-Link or A-Link and an approriate
- desktop computer to install Time Table.
-
- a) Extract all the files from this archive.
- b) Copy all the necessary files onto your Psion (see below).
- c) Install it in the usual way (Psion-I).
-
-
- Root: ┌─> /APP │─> TABLE.OPA (The application)
- │
- ├─> /TABLE ┌─> TABLE.RSC (The help file)
- │ ├─> TABLE.PIC (Bitmaps used by Table)
- │ │
- │ └─> /TABLES ┌─> PETER.TBL (An example)
- │
-
- For the safest installaion, do the following:
-
- ■ Copy the TABLE.OPA into your /APP directory.
- ■ Create a new directory called TABLE in your root directory.
- ■ Copy TABLE.PIC into /TABLE.
- ■ If you would like the help function, copy TABLE.RSC into /TABLE
-
- You may store your *.TBL files wherever you want to. For the
- best results, though, create a directory called TABLES inside the
- /TABLE directory (i.e. /TABLE/TABLES) and store your *.TBL files
- there. A demonstration file is included and is called DEMO.TBL.
-
- IMPORTANT: Copy all the files to your internal drive. Time Table
- creates three more files, TABLE.REG, TABLE.SET and
- TABLE.DAT. Some of the files are continually updated
- and for that reason they must all be on a Ramdisc.
-
- I hate it when one installs an application and it starts creating
- all sorts of data files wherever it wants to!
-
-
- 3. SHAREWARE
-
- Time Table version 1.6 is shareware. None of the features of the
- unregistered version have been disabled. The only addition is the
- nag screen which is displayed every now and then. This screen will
- be visible for at least 10 seconds after which you may continue by
- pressing any key. If you use Time Table for more than 3 weeks, you
- must register.
-
- To register, please send your full details together with 10 UKP,
- or an equivalent amount, to me and I'll send you your unique
- registration code. If you have any queries about how you should
- pay, please contact me.
-
- There is no need to re-install your copy! Just press Psion-G, or
- select "Register" from the menu, type in your name and unique
- registration code and the nag screen will be removed.
-
- But, please register! By registering, you will convince poor
- programmers like me to continue writing good software for your
- favourite palmtop companion.
