-
- How To Play
- -----------
-
- The in-game help screens explain the rules and scoring. Here's a quick summary.
-
- The aim of YTZ is to roll 5 dice a number of times to achieve the best possible
- dice combinations (or "hands") and build up the highest possible score.
-
- A game comprises 13 rounds (standard game) or 39 rounds (triple game). In each
- round the 5 dice are rolled up to 3 times. For the first roll all 5 dice are
- rolled (done automatically by the Psion). For the second and third rolls any of
- the dice may be held.
-
- At the end of each round your hand is scored. There are 13 different types of
- hand; however, each type of hand can be used only once per game (or three times
- in a triple game). The scoreboard is divided up into 13 rows, corresponding
- to the 13 possible hands: you choose where to place each score, and your score
- is calculated accordingly (its easier to play than to explain!).
-
- The scoreboard is divided into two sections...
-
- The first section contains 6 types of hand:
-
- 1's - Score the total of all dice showing 1
- 2's - Score the total of all dice showing 2
- 3's - Score the total of all dice showing 3
- 4's - Score the total of all dice showing 4
- 5's - Score the total of all dice showing 5
- 6's - Score the total of all dice showing 6
-
- If the subtotal of the first section is 63 or more you get a bonus of 35 points.
-
- The second section contains 7 types of hand:
-
- Chance - Any combination of dice - Score the total of ALL dice
- 3 of a kind - At least 3 of the same dice - Score the total of ALL dice
- 4 of a kind - At least 4 of the same dice - Score the total of ALL dice
- Full House - 3 of a kind + 2 of a kind - Score 25 points
- Low Straight - A sequence of 4 dice - Score 30 points
- High Straight - A sequence of 5 dice - Score 40 points
- YTZ - 5 of a kind - Score 50 points
-
- In the Triple game, the scoreboard contains 3 columns against these hands. When
- calculating the total score, the total from the first column is multiplied by 1,
- the total from the second is multiplied by 2, and the total from the third is
- multiplied by 3.
