  5. Install Xword.prc and *.pdb puzzle files on your pilot using the instapp 
  6. program which came with your pilot desktop software.
  7.  
  8. Hint:  instapp flips a bit which tells the pilot to install new files
  9.        on the next hotsync.  You only need to run it once, then any other
  10.        files that you copy to the  \pilot\USERNAME\install directory will
  11.        also be hotsynced.  So after you add one file the normal way, you can
  12.        just copy all the .pdb files you want to that directory, and they 
  13.        will all be installed at hotsync.

  16. The first screen you see after running XWord is the list of available puzzles.
  17. If this list is empty, you will not be able to do anything with XWord
  18. until you install some puzzle files.
  19.  
  20. Select a puzzle from the list and then press the "Go To" button.  You will
  21. now see the puzzle on the screen.  The puzzle screen has three items on it.
  22. The top is the puzzle itself which only displays 11x9 squares.  to see the
  23. entire puzzle you simply drag the puzzle around with your stylus.  (press
  24. in the middle of the puzzle and drag)  You can tell when you are at an 
  25. edge of the puzzle because a gray border will show up whenever you are at
  26. that edge of the puzzle.

  29. The current active word is shown by a gray border around each of the 
  30. letters, and the current active square is displayed in reverse.  Simply 
  31. tap any square on the screen to make it the active square.  If you 
  32. tap the active square again it will toggle the current word from Across 
  33. to Down or vice versa.

  35. At the bottom of the screen, the clue for the current active word is shown.
  36. And on the bottom right is a little icon which identifies whether the
  37. current word is across or down.  You can tap this icon to switch the current
  38. direction.

  41. To enter text into the puzzle, simply select on the square you want enter
  42. the letter in and stroke the character in the Graffiti area at the bottom.

  48.     Options
  49.     Get Info
  50.     Horizontal
  51.     Vertical
  52.     Erase Board
  53.     Preferences
  54.     Close Puzzle

  58.     Word

  62. Erase Board    Will clear the board.  Be sure you really want to do this.
  63. Close Puzzle   Will save your current puzzle and go back to the list of 
  64.         available puzzles.

  67. Letter            This will display the answer for the current active letter.
  68. Word            This will display the answer for the current active word.
  69. Solve             This will solve the entire puzzle.
  70. Preferences    Show Errors    
  71.         This will toggle the error feature.  If you select this
  72.         then all letters that you enter which are incorrect will
  73.         display as question marks (?).  This way you get immediate
  74.         feedback if you enter a correct or incorrect answer, without
  75.         the answer being directly given to you.
