  1. 1.About J-Doc

  3.  J-Doc is a Doc compatible Text reader with Screen Rotate option.It runs as English text reader and with J-OS, it works as Japanese Text reader.

  7.  (1) Can use same database as Doc.
  8.  (2) Works as Japanese text reader under J-OS. without J-OS, it works as English text reader
  9.  (3)You can rotate screen to 4 orientations.
  10.  (4)You can assign any of up scroll and down scroll to Up button and Down button.

  12. 3. How to use
  13.  
  14.  In order to use J-Doc, you must get text conversion program. Please refer  http://www.concentric.net/~rbram/doc.shtml and get MAKEDOC.
  15. On Nov 6,1996 It's newest version is 6 and it's name is MAKEDOC6.EXE.
  16. When use older version, J-Doc may not work properly.
  17.  
  18. (1) Install J-Doc
  19.  Install J-Doc on PC and Hot Sync!
  20.  
  21. (2) Convert TEXT file to PILOT Database file
  22.  on your PC , use MAKEDOC and convert text file into PILOT Database.

  24.  Usage:
  25.  ü@C:\>MAKEDOC6 {option} textfile  pilotname name
  26.  
  27. ü@ü@option:when specify -n no compression is done. Usually specify nothing.
  28. ü@ü@textfile:text file's file name
  29. ü@ü@pilotfile:pilot type database's file name to create
  30. ü@ü@name:specify title which will be displayed on J-Doc. max length is 32

  33. ü@ü@c:\> makedoc6 readme.txt readme.prc README

  35.  (3) Install database
  36.  Install database which you created and Hot Sync!

  38. (4) Execute J-Doc on PILOT
  39.  Run J-Doc on PILOT.All TEXT database will be displayed. Choose text file to read.

  41. (5) Text view
  42.  In Text view, you can user functions below.

  44.  Buttons:
  45.   Up and Down Key:Scroll 1 page. You can change the function of key by sepcifying in option menu.

  48. ü@Go To top of page: Go to top of Document
  49. ü@Go To Bottom of page: Go to end of Document
  50. ü@Close Document: Go to text choose screen.
  51. ü@Get Info:Show Infos about J-Doc

  53. ü@ü@ü@Orientation:You can rotate screen.
  54. ü@ü@ü@Up Button:You can change the function of Up button.
  55. ü@ü@ü@Down Button:You can change the function of Down button.

  60.   You can have 12 documents at one time on PILOT.
  61.   No 1 line scrolling
  62.   No Bookmarks
  63.   There will be breaking between pages
