  1. WELCOME TO OTHERWARE 1: Macintosh/Amiga shareware and public domain CD-ROM.

  3. OtherWare 1 is primarily intended for DOS BBS operators who wish to provide
  4. access to Macintosh and Amiga software to their users.  No Macintosh or
  5. Amiga interface program has been provided.  MegaSearch for DOS and MegaDOOR
  6. (BBS) have been provided for IBM users.  All filenames have been converted
  7. to DOS type names with 8 letter names and 3 letter extentions.

  9. All of the files on this CD-ROM have come from the Internet FTP server
  10. wuarchive.wustl.edu.
  11.  
  12. Most Amiga files have been compressed with LHA, a very popular Amiga
  13. compression utility.  Executable copies may be found in \AMIGA\UTILITY\CLI.
  14. Descriptions for Amiga files consist of the original Amiga filename.
  15.  
  16. Nearly every Macintosh file has been processed by BINHEX and another
  17. compression program such as Stuffit or CompactPro.  Read the .INF files
  18. for descriptions and compression information.  Macintosh compression
  19. programs can be located in \MAC\UTIL\COMPRESS.  Files that are marked
  20. .BIN or .SEA can be run but must be set to MacBinary first after being
  21. copied from the CD-ROM.

  23. Several DOS archivers are in the directory \DOS.  They should allow the
  24. extraction of most files contained on this CD-ROM
