  5. We at CONSULTRON would like to thank you for purchasing CrossDOS.  We
  6. are  always  trying  to  provide  you with a quality product for your
  7. productivity needs.

  9. The files included with this archive are patches to be applied to the
  10. CrossDOS (full READ/WRITE) installation disk.  [Please make a copy of
  11. the installation disk first].
  12.  
  13. The major feature enhancements for Version 4.0 of CrossDOS are:
  14. - faster floppy data access; improvements to "mfm.device"
  15. - AmigaDOS V2.0 compatible
  16. - better error reporting
  17. - electronic bulletin board suport

  21. Patching CrossDOS
  22.  
  23. These   patches   will   only   patch  your  CrossDOS  version  4.00a
  24. installation   disk  are  applied.   The  files  being  patched  are:
  25. "L/MSDOSFileSystemINTL"   and   "L/MSDOSFileSystemDK".   If  you  see
  26. messages  about  not  being able to apply a patch, make sure you have
  27. patched   your   CrossDOS   disk   to   version   4.02a  first  using
  28. "CDP402a.lzh".
  29.  
  30. You can install the patches from either WORKBENCH or the CLI.
  31.  
  32. To install the patches from the CLI, type the following:
  33.  
  34.     cd <patch_dir>          ; the directory where the patch files are.
  35.     execute patchMFSINTL df0:   ; df0: or drive where CrossDOS disk in.
  36.  
  37. To install the patches from WORKBENCH, select the "patchMFSINTL" icon
  38. and  extend-select  (with  shift  key held) the CrossDOS installation
  39. disk icon.  ["ICONX" is assumed to be in your "C:" directory.]
  40.  
  41. The messages should display the status of the patching process.  Once
  42. the  patches  are  applied and if you originally installed it on your
  43. system  disk,  you  should re-install the new "L/MSDOSFileSystemINTL"
  44. and  "L/MSDOSFileSystemDK"  into  your  "L:"  directory  or  use  the
  45. installation program provided with CrossDOS.
  46.  
  47. If  you  do  have  an  eariler  version of CrossDOS, you will need to
  48. upgrade  your disk to version 4.00a before you can use these patches.

  75. Please  distribute  this  archive INTACT to any legal bulletin board.
  76. We  are  allowing  registered purchasers of CrossDOS to upgrade their
  77. version  of the product (Version 4) to the current release at no cost
  78. as  long  as they use these patches.  Those who do not have access to
  79. these  patch  files  may  send  in $10.00, the original disk, and the
  80. completed  warranty  card.   We  will  update the disk to the current
  81. version and send it back.

  83. Updating "pirated" versions of CrossDOS are legally prohibited.

  91. Updates to CrossDOS Utilities

  93. There  have  also been some updates to the CrossDOS utilities.  These
  94. new files are contained in a separate file called "CDU402.lzh".  Most
  95. of the changes are to provide better WORKBENCH support.
