  5. 1.    Installation on Hard Disk

  7. Commodore's Installer program is now used to install GPFax on hard drives.
  8.  
  9. Simply double click on the "Install-GPFax" icon and follow the selections
  10. provded.

  49. The following changes have been made in since the release of 2.01 version
  50. for the Supra Modems.  These changes are to add some minor extra features,
  51. fix a few bugs and add functions available with the new ROMS from Supra for
  52. the V32Bis modems (1.2E or greater)

  55. MINOR CHANGES

  58.     Minor changes to some internal functions. Fix for view screen size
  59.         when running under NTSC. Some changes to serial code to 
  60.         provide more safety for REXX scripts LISTEN/UNLISTEN etc

  62.     More optimisation for Supra 14.4 mode fax capability

  64.     More optimisation for adaptive answering for Supra V32bis modems with
  65.         new version ROMS.

  67.     Hangup codes are now limited to 0-255. Some modems actually return

  95.     Printer Setup Menu.  PageStream - chose configure printer and then
  96.     select Preferences.Printer.

  99. 2.    Many users wanted to see the NAME of the service that was called
  100.     in the logbook and in the scheduler.  This now changed.

  102.     Logbook and scheduler now show NAME or service if possible. If no

  108.     New Environment variable for number of RINGS. (Minimum value 2)

  167. IMPORTANT NOTE:    ONLY the RECEIVENOW command automatically handles
  168.         listen/unlisten. Other commands do not. You MUST specifically
  169.         listen or unlisten the serial device if required. If the device
  170.                 is not in the correct state an error will be returned.

  174. OPENSERIAL    opens serial port but does not initialise modem
  175. CLOSESERIAL    obvious
  176. INITMODEM    initialises modem with standard sequence for receive fax
  177.  
  178. LISTEN/UNLISTEN
  179.         These commands have been improved with added safety.
  180.         For example, LISTEN will open serial and initialise modem
  181.         if run from closed serial state.

  185. SPECIAL    BBS COMMANDS: These commands improve the BBS interface
  186.  
  187.  
  188. RECEIVENOW    This is probably the main command for running GPFax in
  189.                 conjunction with BBS software and external 'trapdoor' style
  190.                 programs. 
  191.  
  192.                 It starts immediate reception of FAX data by sending AT+FDR
  193.                 to the modem. The actual function of the command is   
  194.         
  195.             Do a default LISTEN if required
  196.             begin received fax and save it/them
  197.             do UNLISTEN
  198.             returns to caller
  199.  
  200.         IMPORTANT: The command assumes an external program has already
  201.                 monitored the modem answerring the call and has determined
  202.                 that it is a FAX call. 
  203.  
  204.                 WE EXPECT THAT THE EXTERNAL PROGRAM WILL HAVE
  205.  
  206.                     done ATA (or auto answer) to modem
  207.  
  208.             has swallowed the FAX/DATA result
  209.                         has determined it is FAX
  210.                         then waits for the OK at the end of the initial
  211.                         remote-modem handshake for fax data. I.E. it
  212.  
  213.                         waits for +FCON 
  214.                                 then swallowes any +FDCS or other incoming
  215.                                 messages until it received the OK at the end
  216.                                 of this initial handshake. At this point
  217.                                 you have THREE SECONDS (MAX) to continue
  218.                                 with fax reception.

  220.             call GPFAX with RECEIVENOW.  (cooking with Gas!)

  245. SCHEDULEFAX    <TIME in MINS> <file,file> TO <num,num,..(group)>
  246.         Command is the same as sendfax but has extra parameter
  247.         of TIME.  TIME is in minutes AHEAD of current time.
  248.         Value of TIME veriable MUST BE >0

  251. RESETSCHEDULES    <TIME mins>
  252.         resets ALL the currently scheduled faxes to be sent at
  253.         current time + TIME
  254.         (This command does not check status of schedules. It
  255.         adjusts the scheduled time, resets status to 'pending'
  256.         re-saves, and re-queues the scheduler. If any schedules
  257.         have failed though any error they will be re-scheduled
  258.         irrespective to what the error was.)
  259.  
  260. COVERPAGES <ON/OFF>
  261.         Allows cover pages to be sent when using Arexx, send or
  262.         schedule commands. If phone number or group number is found
  263.         in phonebook, this setting decides whether to override any
  264.         default cover page.

  270. Version 3.0 information.

  272. We are working on Version 3. This is a total rewrite of the software to add
  273. numerous extra features including some very exciting options being developed
  274. by Supra.  All registered users will be notified by mail when V3 is available.
  275. We are also working with the authors of several BBS packages to improve the
  276. BBS interface and AREXX commands.
