  18.                      Hello AMIGA & ESPERANTO-Freaks...

  20.  These  programmes  should offer a fast translation-utility, especially for
  21.  new  esperantists:  When reading a text, you need a dictionary to look out
  22.  for  the  words  you  don't  understand,  normally.  By doing that you are
  23.  loosing much time - sometimes you'll forget the story or so...
  24.  
  25.  Vortaro  helps you to find the words more quickly, and you'll find similar
  26.  words  as  well.  Maybe you'll find it usefull - it was my first Assembler
  27.  programme  I  wrote  on  an  Amiga.   Please forgive me - the results are:
  28.  VORTAROxxxV1.3(-fora)...

  30.  The  program  wants  the  unknown word and translates automaticly into the
  31.  other  language.   Also  the  Joker(*)-sign  is  accepted  to  shorten the
  32.  input-words.   The  result  of  that is, that you'll find similar words as
  33.  well.   Without  any option you'll get the info-page.  With -H / -h you'll
  34.  get  the exact usage of the program to work with it, both - in English and
  35.  Esperanto.

  37.  In-/ and outputs are given in the Esperanto -font and -keymap.  To type an
  38.  esperanto  circumflexed  letter,  you've  to  hit  the  'breve'-key first,
  39.  followed  by  the  e-o letter.  For example:  `c ---> ¼ `G ---> ½ `u --->╗
  40.  and so on...

  42.  The font is based on the Kickstart2.0-topaz bitmap. For Kick1.3 please use
  43.  setfont to Esperanto.8 and setmap to EAng (E-o-Angla).  For Kick2.0 please
  44.  use the PICKKEY and FONT -command.

  46.  The  VORTAROxxxV1.4-FORA  -  versions are for BBS, teletyping-boxes or so.
  47.  The  difference  is,  that  there  is  no color on the screen, a '>' says:
  48.  please  continue;  and last but not least:  the characters ¼ ▒   ╡ ╖ ╗ are
  49.  corrected to ch gh hh jh sh u - recommended by some e-o-books.  ½oju!

  51.  That  program does work with CLI only, and doesn't use comfortable windows
  52.  and  screens - I'm sorry about that.  The wordlist does contain about 3000
  53.  Esperanto-words  and  is integrated into the program - that does mean:  In
  54.  that  version,  there  is  no possibility to change, correct or update the
  55.  list...   or  you've to update the source-wordlist and reassemble it.  For
  56.  easy usage, please make Vortaro resident und rename it to a simple letter,
  57.  so  it  is  easy and fast to use.  Or put it in the Memory and 'alias' it.
  58.  In  that  case,  you'll  get  the words quicker and you can read the story
  59.  without long breaks...

  61.  In  the future I want to write a version, that allows you to put new words
  62.  into  a  seperate  wordlist-file and makes it easy to merge those seperate
  63.  list  to  a  new  one.  That list should also compatible with computers of
  64.  other  series,  like PC, Atari, Mac, Apple and so on...  The assignment of
  65.  the  special  letters  will  be  solved  in a better way in the future, to
  66.  communicate  with other systems.  A wordlist-describing is worked out.  It
  67.  is planned to allow extensions to that.

  70.  I  wish  you all much fun with <Vortaro> and hope, that you're having much
  71.  success in learning and practising that fine language.

  74.  Also,  I  really  want  to thank the person, who put the English-Esperanto
  75.  list  into  FTP-Servers  -  and  who did that awfull work, to type all the
  76.  words into that list...  I used it for the English Vortaro-version.
