  3.     SynWorks - A design, training and test environment for
  4.                    neural networks.

  9. DESCRIPTION
  10.         SynWorks is a fully integrated environment for design,
  11.         training and test of neural networks. Currently, it supports
  12.         11 different network types, the networks' sizes are only
  13.         limited by the amount of memory available.
  14.         SynWorks provides instruments to watch and track (to disk)
  15.         all important network parameters, all kinds of errors and
  16.         of course, all input and output values provided to or by
  17.         the network. 
  18.         All network parameters can be edited, and, starting from
  19.         standard networks, custom networks can be created by 
  20.         adding links and neurons, modifying all functions (learn,
  21.         transfer, error, evaluation). Input/output behaviour can
  22.         easily be specified in terms of ranges, sources, and
  23.         targets. Network display modes include structural,
  24.         error-related, change-related, weight-related and
  25.         memory related displays. All displays provide point-
  26.         and click interfaces to the displayed parameters and
  27.         are available simultaneously (watch chipmem !). 
  28.         All networks can be printed in four different
  29.         modes, giving a textual, structural and two different 
  30.         descriptions on the network's weight map.
  31.         SynWorks also provides a context-sensitive on-line help 
  32.         system that includes descriptions of all actions and 
  33.         important components, linked together via cross-references
  34.         and easily accessible via buttons and hot-keys.
  35.         Also, SynWorks features a full AREXX-interface that allows
  36.         to define macros for internal use as well as using a network
  37.         as part of a larger system, execute demonstrations etc..

  39.         The full version of SynWorks includes the following:

  43.          - SynWorks 2.0 neural network design and development tool,
  44.            plain 68000 version as well as 68020/68881++ version.

  48.          - SynCode.lib, library to be linked to C programs to
  49.            allow easy use of networks in user C programs (networks
  50.            appear as subroutines)

  52.          - SynCode programming examples, comprising Car control,
  53.            character recognition, decision table execution, ECG
  54.            evaluation.

  56.          - SynTools 1.1, last version of a data display and 
  57.            processing tool (not supporting Kickstart 2.0x
  58.            special features YET), upgradable to SynTools 2.0 (coming
  59.            soon) and very useful for display and annotation of
  60.            training data, also for evaluation of results.

  115. DISTRIBUTABILITY
  116.         Shareware, the ftp archive contains a demonstration version
  117.         with certain features disabled. Users of versions 1.0, 1.1
  118.         and 1.2 will be directly informed about upgrade possibilities,
  119.         all new users can get the full version as described above
  120.         directly from the author.
