  4. The object of Connect Four is to connect four red color pieces horizontally, 
  5. vertically or diagonally. The game is over when either the player or the 
  6. computer has connected four pieces or when all columns of the board have been 
  7. filled but there are no four pieces that are connected and have the same color.

  19. Choose New from the Game menu to start a new game and choose the level of play 
  20. which is either Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Master by selecting the 
  21. corresponding item from the Options menu. The current level of play is 
  22. indicated by a check mark left to the menu item. The higher the skill level, 
  23. the longer the computer spends calculating its moves.

  25. Red plays first unless Computer starts from the Options menu is used to make 
  26. the computer go first. The board is filled from the bottom row up to the top 
  27. row by dropping pieces in a column. To make a move, move the pointer to a 
  28. position above a column. If the column is not full, a piece appears that can be 
  29. dropped by pressing mouse button 1. Choose Hint from the Game menu to obtain a 
  30. hint on a good move. A beep indicates that the computer has made a move. A tune 
  31. is played when the game is over.

  36. If a display driver for a monochrome display is installed, the red pieces will 
  37. be displayed in white color and the blue pieces will be displayed in blue 
  38. color. Connect Four can also be played on computers that have no pointing 
  39. device installed or attached by using the arrow keys instead of the mouse.
