  4. PLEASE READ THIS TEXT IN ITS ENTIRETY AS IT CONTAINS
  5. IMPROTANT INFORMATION ON PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND ON
  6. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES.

  8. To install:
  9. ^^^^^^^^^^^
  10. Make sure you have placed a copy of VROBJ.DLL in
  11. a directory in your DLL path. This DLL must be for
  12. VX-REXX version 2.0c or better.
  13. Run the install.exe program. It will prompt you for
  14. which drive to install to and will then proceed to
  15. unarchive the program files and then create the
  16. required desktop objects for you.

  20. Thank-you for taking a look at the first edition of
  21. "The OS/2 Gamer's Guide". This program is meant to
  22. be an easy to use tool in getting your DOS games
  23. working their best under OS/2.
  24.  
  25. The program is very straight forward in it's design
  26. and therefore should be extremely easy to use.
  27.  
  28. This first edition is obviously, and intentionally,
  29. fairly limited in the quantity of games included. The
  30. reasons for this are as follows:
  31.  
  32. (1) I want some feedback from users concerning the
  33.     design, layout, features, and scope of the guide.
  34.     If you feel something more should be added,
  35.     something should be changed or deleted, please
  36.     let me know.
  37. (2) I have only a limited number of games myself and
  38.     therefore will need users to send me settings
  39.     for games that they have successfully managed to
  40.     get running under OS/2.

  42. I hope to be able to release updates at regular
  43. intervals in order to keep the contents of the guide
  44. as up-to-date as possible and thereby support the
  45. newest games. My initial idea is to do this on a
  46. bi-monthly basis, but please comment if you think
  47. otherwise.

  49. Finally, this program is freeware but I would
  50. appreciate a comment if you use the software. The
  51. program, and the installation routine, were both
  52. written entirely using VX-REXX v2.0c from Watcom. As
  53. a result it requires you to have a copy of the VX-REXX
  54. runtime library, VROBJ.DLL. This can be found on
  55. numerous OS/2 FTP sites including ftp-os2.cdrom.com,
  56. ftp.nmsu.edu and rexx.uwaterloo.ca.
