  12. WPSam is an extension to the Workplace Shell of OS/2 that enables you to
  13. maintain a set of different Workplace Shells on your PC. You may switch
  14. between these Workplace Shells during one session (i. e. without
  15. restarting your PC). You even don't have to stop running programs.
  16.  
  17. A lot of applications are imagineable with this program:
  18. - One can create different desktops for different jobs he has to carry out on
  19.   a single workstation.
  20. - A PC might belong to different users and each of them has a different
  21.   taste of a nice Workplace Shell.
  22. - It is even possible to hold a private Workplace Shell on a network server
  23.   for each user in this network. And each of these users can get his
  24.   private Shell on every PC in this network.

  27. But please note: This is a first release of the
  28.   document. We only have a german installation of
  29.   OS/2 at the moment, thus some of the displayed
  30.   menues in the documentation are mixed-language!

  33. Installation

  36. - Call the REXX-procedure 'REGISTER' out of a fullscreen or windowed session.
  37.  
  38. If a version of WPSam has already been installed on the PC you will see an
  39. error message. This is, because OS/2 read-protects DLL-files, that are in use
  40. by the operation system and thus can't be overwritten.
  41.  
  42. In this case:
  43. - Start your PC with the installation disk.
  44. - Press 'ESC' as soon as it is possible (to get a command prompt).
  45. - Start 'REGISTER' as already mentioned.
  46.  
  47.      This version of WPSam is an evaluation version. A newly created desktop
  48.      only works for three weeks. If you buy a registerd version of WPSam, these
  49.      created desktops will work again.
