  3. Have you ever wondered when it was time to clean the dirt off of your mouse
  4. ball, or when to polish your reflective mouse pad? Well the Mouse Odometer
  5. may be just the utility for you.
  6.  
  7. The Mouse Odometer is a small program that tracks the distance moved by
  8. your mouse pointer (the arrow on the screen). This should be roughly
  9. equivalent to the distance actually moved by your mouse.
  10.  
  11. The Odometer will remember the distance moved and keep a cumulative total
  12. of the distance your mouse travels from day to day. You can reset the
  13. total distance at any time. To ensure that an accurate distance is saved
  14. when you switch off your PC, be sure to do a desktop save or desktop shutdown
  15. before turning the power off.

  27. Installation
  28. ------------

  30. 1 - Copy the file ODOMETER.EXE to any directory that is specified in the
  31.     PATH statement in your CONFIG.SYS file.
  32.  
  33. 2 - Copy the file ODOMETER.DLL to any directory that is specified in the
  34.     LIBPATH statement in your CONFIG.SYS file.
  35.  
  36. 3 - Type 'START ODOMETER' from the OS/2 command line or include this command
  37.     in your STARTUP.CMD file to start the odometer when OS/2 IPLs.

  39. Menu Items
  40. ----------

  42. Reset                   Resets the odometer counters - both total and session 
  43.                         distance - to zero. Also resets the total distance 
  44.                         date to the current date.
  45.  
  46. About                   Displays information about the program.
  47.  
  48. Exit                    Saves the current total distance and ends the 
  49.                         odometer.
  50.  
  51. Session distance        Displays the distance that the pointer has moved
  52.                         since the odometer program was started.
  53.  
  54. Total distance          Displays the total distance that the pointer has
  55.                         moved since the last reset or since the program was
  56.                         run for the first time. The date of the last reset
  57.                         or when the program was first run is included.        
  58.  
  59. Both                    Displays both the session and total distances.
  60.  
  61. Units                   The sub-menu allows you to choose the units that the
  62.                         distances are displayed in. You can choose from
  63.                         metres, kilometres, inches, feet, or miles.
  64.  
  65. Precision               This sub-menu allows you to set the number of decimal
  66.                         places - 0 to 9 - that are included in the displayed
  67.                         distances.

  69. Start minimised         The next time the odometer is started, it will be
  70.                         minimised (i.e. an icon).

  72. Save settings           Saves the current settings, window size and
  73.                         position.
