- This is a 32-bit, mouse oriented, interactive 3-dimensional (3-D) data
- viewing program for the IBM OS/2 2.x operating system compiled using emx-0.8f.
- Future versions will make use of OS/2's mutithread capabilities to render the
- use of system facilities more efficient.
-
- It is hoped that this program could be useful to those students,
- programmers, scientists, engineers, educators, designers and others, who need
- to view three dimensional data one time or another during their work, study or
- leisure and who could not justify or are not capable of investing large amount
- of their capitals and time in purchasing and learning the multi- $hundreds or
- $thousands all purpose commercial 3-D packages. Even for those who are in
- possessing of those complete 3-D packages, this program can provide quick
- preview of the models used in those packages. Albeit it may not be necessary
- for some, the program could also help other students in both high school and
- college to visualize more abstract geometric concepts in solid geometry and
- calculus. The potential viewer may also find the simple beauty of some of the
- 3-D structure appealing.
-
-
- Despite the small size of the current version of the program, it has
- many functions and analytic tools that are needed in viewing and designing
- 3-D data and models. The program is designed in such a way that make the
- viewing and manipulating of a given 3-D data set user friendly through the
- use of the virtual reality techniques. The increasing power of personal
- computers and operating system make that ideal closer and closer to reality.
-
-
- Thank you for your attention. Part of the author's hope is that
- you could enjoy the wonders of an idealized 3-D world, some of which maybe is
- created by yourself.
-
-
-
- Note: If you do not have a emx-0.8x installed, you can simplly put
- the emx.dll file in the directory where you install this program
- or in a directory in you LIBPATH.
