  1. This is the short list of important items concerning LightWaves v1.1. 
  2. The On-line Help contains a fully detailed description of the entire 
  3. program.  
  4.  
  5. The file PRES.BAK is a backup copy of the PRES.DEF file which contains
  6. the information needed to start the program.
  7.  
  8. LightWaves v1.1 and any 1.X version is FREEWARE
  9. LightWaves v1.1 will only display Windows Bitmap (*.BMP) files.
  10. Lightwaves v1.1 will only play Wave (.WAV) audio and MIDI (.MID) files.
  11. LightWaves v1.1 will support Compact Disc audio through a CD-ROM device.
  12. LightWaves v1.1 will allow you to cycle a presentation for unattended
  13.      demonstrations.
  14. LightWaves is a MultiThreaded, PM application.

  16. PRESENTATION NOTE
  17. =================
  18. When a presentation is started, LightWaves starts with a black screen. Just
  19. press the Spacebar to proceed.  Each presentation will end in the same way.
  20. Those with CD-ROM drives will experience a 1 - 2 second delay before being
  21. able to start the presentation from the black screen, this was unavoidable.

  23. INSTALLATION
  24. ============
  25. To install lightwaves, simply uncompress the files, create a directory
  26. for it and place all the files in that directory.  Do not move the 
  27. On-Line Help (.INF) file or the Wave (.WAV) files from this directory.

  29. Create an icon on your desktop for LightWaves or run LightWaves from 
  30. the command line like so:

  32.      Example  C:\directory\lightwav.exe
  33.  
  34. Where 'C:\directory\' is the drive and directory in which LightWaves 
  35. was installed, 'lightwav.exe' is the executable file name.

  37. Users of LightWaves v1.0
  38. ========================
  39. Users of LightWaves v1.0 will NOT be able to use the presentation (.PRS)
  40. files with LightWaves v1.1.  I will be posting a utility to convert 
  41. v1.0 file to v1.1 format in the very near future.  If you become a Fully
  42. Registered User, I will send it to you directly.
