  6.  INSTALLATION
  7.  
  8. Run the friendly installation program (install.exe) supplied
  9. with the package. You can install from floppy or hard disk.
  10. The only constraint is that all the PMdiff files must be in
  11. the same directory.

  15.  GENERAL NOTES
  16.  
  17. PMdiff makes extensive use of drag and drop. Use it to load
  18. files or change colours and fonts. Experiment with the second
  19. mouse button. It activates a pop-up menu containing many useful
  20. features.

  22. The on-line help is comprehensive, although not all items are
  23. available from General Help. Check out the Help Index to make
  24. sure that you don't miss anything.

  26. Two pairs of sample files are provided:

  28.     hippo1.txt, hippo2.txt
  29.    and    mary1.txt, mary2.txt
  30.  
  31. You may wish to try comparing these.

  35.  EVALUATION VERSION
  36.  
  37. PMdiff is the result of many months of dedicated development
  38. effort. PMdiff exists in evaluation and licensed version.
  39.  
  40. The two version are identical, except that the evaluation
  41. version does not allow preferences to be saved. You may
  42. distribute the evaluation version freely, and use it for up to
  43. 21 days. If you find it useful then you are asked to register
  44. it. This won't cost you much, and will gain you
  45.  
  46.     * a disk containing the latest licensed version
  47.       allowing preferences to be saved
  48.  
  49.     * free support via snail-mail and e-mail
  50.  
  51.     * the satisfaction of supporting good OS/2 software
  52.  
  53.     * a clean conscience

  61.  LICENSED VERSION

  63. The licensed version of PMdiff allows you to save your
  64. preferences between sessions. This is intended as an incentive
  65. to register.
  66.  
  67. You may install the licensed version on several machines.
  68. However, you must ensure that only the number of copies
  69. purchased are in use at any given time.
  70.  
  71. For example, perhaps you have bought only one copy. You can
  72. install it on your desktop office machine, and your laptop. Even
  73. your home machine. But PMdiff must be run on only one of the
  74. machines at any given time.
