- for IBM OS/2 2.1(*). We hope that you will find this software to be powerful,
- fast, and easy to use.

- This software is fully functional, with the exception that only two megabytes
- may be backed up at one time. All other features are present and functional.

- By registering your copy of Back Again/2, you will help guarentee future
- versions and will receive the latest version on diskette. Additionally, when
- you register your copy of Back Again/2 by telephone, you will be given a key to
- unlock your demo copy so that you can use Back Again/2 in an unrestricted
- manner right away!.

- Finally, please note that this introductory window is not intended as a
- permanent 'nag' window. This window can be bypassed by adding '/NOINTRO' as
- the first command line parameter for Back Again/2.

- The main window for Back Again/2 provides access to its powerful functions in
- an easy and straightforward manner. Backups, restores, and more can be invoked
- from the menu, or from the handy tool bar.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1. The Main Window Tool Bar ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- The main window tool bar, pictured below and located just underneath the menu
- bar, is used to provide quick access to commonly used functions. Clicking on
- one of the icons on the tool bar will invoke that function immediately without
- the need to go through any menus.

- Tool bar buttons and their function :

- Goes to the backup function. Equivalent menu selection is File->Backup, or
- Alt+B.

- Goes to the restore function. Equivalent menu selection is File->Restore, or
- Alt+R.

- Goes to the verify function. Equivalent menu selection is File->Verify, or
- Alt+V.

- Goes to the log/catalog file viewing function. Equivalent menu selection is
- Tools->View Log/Archive Catalog.

- Exits Back Again/2. Equivalent menu selection is File->Exit, or F3.

- Goes to the online help index. Equivalent menu selection is Help->Help index.

- The main window file menu, located on the menu bar, is used to start backup,
- restore, and verify functions, as well as to exit Back Again/2. These items
- also have accelerator key equilvalents, and may be started via the tool bar as
- well.

- Backup is used to backup data from your system.

- Restore is used to restore data to your system.
-
- Verify is used to verify data that has been previously backed up.

- Exit exits Back Again/2.

- The main window configuration menu, located on the menu bar, is used to
- configure backup sets and Back Again/2 program options.

- Backup sets is used to configure backup sets. Note that this can also be done
- from the main backup window.

- Preferences is used to configure various aspects of Back Again/2 such as
- scheduled sets, default drives to scan, diskette types, priorities, and so on.

- The main window tools menu, located on the menu bar, is used to access the
- utilities provided by Back Again/2.

- Format diskette will format a diskette and verify that it is safe to use for
- backing up data.

- View log/archive catalog can be used to look at error logs and archive
- catalogs. This may also be accessed via the main window tool bar.

- Recover archive catalog can be used to recover an archive catalog file from the
- backup media. This is handy if the archive is being transported between
- systems or if the archive catalog saved on the system has been lost.

- The main window help menu, located on the menu bar, provides direct access to
- the online, context sensitive help system, as well as product information and
- registration information.

- Help index provides an index of subjects contained in the help system.

- General help provides a quick introduction to Back Again/2 and should be used
- in conjunction with the online user's guide.

- Keys information provides help with using accelerator keys with Back Again/2.

- Using help provides help on using the Back Again/2 help system.

- Product information provides information about this version of Back Again/2 as
- well as information about the people who developed it (if you can find it!).

- Registration information appears only on demonstration copies of Back Again/2
- that have not been registered. This item is used when registering the software
- to remove the 2MB backup limit found in the demonstration version.

- Back Again/2 is not free software, but is instead user supported software.
- What this means is that if you find this program to your liking, we ask you to
- register it.

- Registration costs $35 (USD) plus $3 to cover shipping and handling.

- Please call us at (612)462-8403 before sending in payment; doing so will enable
- us to fully enable your demo copy of Back Again/2 to use until you receive the
- registered version. Registration hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm central standard
- time, Monday through Friday.

- We accept checks or money orders made out to Computer Data Strategies; C.O.D.
- may also be used with an addition $3 fee to cover the C.O.D charges.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Scheduler Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
-
- The scheduling window shows a list of all the backup sets which are currently
- scheduled for unattended backup. By selecting a backup set name, the time and
- date at which it will be next backed up will be displayed.
-
- For a backup set to be set for unattended backup, it must be set to one of the
- three backup modes and also added to the unattended backup set list page of the
- preferences notebook.

- Note that even if a backup set is added to the scheduler, it will not be shown
- if its defined to be a manual i.e. non-scheduled backup set or if the time and
- date of the backup, in the case of a backup set in scheduled mode, have already
- passed.
