- SLICER! - A neat utility from Staben Technologies / Bovay Northwest Inc.

-
- Haven't you been upset because some lousy DOS programmer assumed that DOS was
- the only thing the program was going to execute on? Never fear! SLICER! is
- here! SLICER! will ~force~ your application appear idle to OS/2 2.x, Desqview
- and enhanced-mode Windows.
-
- ESSENTIALS
- ==========
-
- SLICER! is a Terminate-Stay-Resident (TSR) program which requires approximately
- 656 bytes of memory. Once loaded, SLICER! will "release" a timeslice to OS/2,
- Windows 3.x or Desqview roughly each sixth of a second, or 360 times each
- minute. Each time it is loaded, SLICER! will half the time it is slicing, so
- loading SLICER! twice will cause a released timeslice twelve times each second.
- There is no limit to how many times you can load SLICER!, until you run out of
- memory or become tired of waiting for the next DOS prompt.
-
- Each time SLICER! releases a timeslice, the DOS program is suspended for the
- interval of the slice release. By using PULSE under OS/2, a DOS program
- which "tops" the graph will be "sliced" enough to drop more than one third
- of PULSE's vertical grid.
