- The color_elvis executable is Elvis compiled the "right way"; that is,
- with different colors for highlighting, the status line, etc. It's
- very pretty and 16 times slower than fast_elvis.exe, which uses simple
- TTY functions for output. Needless to say, I use the latter exclusively.
- For fast_elvis, if you use ANSI ON, ANSI will control the colors. If
- it's set OFF, then the regular Elvis color will be used, but you may
- find some of the previous colors leaking through at the cursor line. A
- ^F^B combination will take care of that in a jiffy or less.
-
- The remaining executables were compiled with the fast_elvis options, but
- I don't believe that makes any difference. I have not tested them very
- extensively--ex, vi, view and wildcard work as designed, insofar as I can
- tell, but I don't use the others and therefore haven't tested them. (They
- did compile correctly, however. :-) )
-
- Note that this is STILL a "quick and dirty" port (about 10 days' worth
- now), so there may be some bugs lurking. There shouldn't be any problems
- which affect file integrity, however, unless they were already in the pro-
- gram when I started. Use at your own risk, etc. (I do. Beauty editor.)
