Internet Config settings
Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) contain different protocols such as
ftp, mailto, news, telnet, and http, which determine the type of program
a browser will use to access a link. While Internet Explorer supports
most URLs, you may prefer to use a different program such as your
favorite mail or newsreader. Internet Explorer will use the helper
application you've specified in your Internet Config helper applications
settings. For instructions on how you can add, delete, or change your
helper applications, refer to "To use Internet Config to set options" in
the online Help.

Plug-Ins and 2.0 Upgrades

plug-ins, choose Options from the Edit menu. Click the Web Content tab
and select the Load Plug-in Objects check box.
QuickTime PowerPlug
If you have a PowerPC and you have QuickTime installed, Internet Explorer requires that the QuickTime PowerPlug extension be installed in your Extensions folder in your System folder. QuickTime extensions are available for download from http://quicktime.apple.com.
