  12. Mix Screen (two turntables represent the 16 tracks of sound)
  13. ----------

  15. Step 1: Click the "?" (Help button) on the Mix Screen to display the Mixman key commands.
  16.  
  17.     The letters on the screen represent the keys on your
  18.      computer keyboard. Each key corresponds to a different
  19.      track of audio in the song.
  20.  
  21. Step 2: Begin your mixing session by clicking the Play button on the Mix Screen.
  22.  
  23. Step 3: Activate a track by holding down its corresponding key on your computer keyboard.
  24.    
  25.     Orange track indicator lights signify which tracks you 
  26.     have manually activated. 
  27.     
  28. Step 4: To Lock or Unlock a track: while holding down its corresponding key, press either the spacebar.
  29.  
  30.         For example: try locking the bass track by pressing the 
  31.     "m" key and the spacebar key simultaneously, then let go.
  32.  
  33. Step 5: Try breaking the mix down by holding down the "Ctrl" key and any other track key simultaneously.

  35.     For example: Lock a few tracks in, then manually select 
  36.     any track and simultaneously hold down the "Ctrl" key. 
  37.     Notice that all the locked tracks are muted; any tracks 
  38.     that are manually selected continue to play.

  40. Step 6: Try adding FX to the mix by holding down the "Tab" key.
  41.  
  42.         The FX button pitch shifts the entire mix down 
  43.     12 half steps (1 octave).  
  44.         This amount can be changed in the Options Screen.

  49.   To load the demo mix:               click the "Demo" button
  50.   To adjust the tempo:             click the "tempo" button
  51.   To change the pitch shift:       click the "FX" button
  52.   To clear you current mix:        click the "New" button    
  53.   To save a your current mix:      click the "Save" button
  54.   To rename your current mix:      click the "Save As" button
  55.   To open one of your saved mixes: click the "Open" button

  58. To exit the Mixman, click the "arrow" button at the bottom right

  70. Mixman is like an instrument: the more you play the better 
  71. you'll get. Play Mixman through a big stereo with big speakers 
  72. and crank it!!!!!!!

  74. The line out of your sound card is (most likely) the second output 
  75. from the left. This output will connect to the AUX or TAPE input 
  76. jacks on your stereo. Most sound cards include the wire to connect 
  77. your sound card to your stereo. If you don't have a cord buy one!

  79. You need a:  1/8" male stereo jack -to- dual mono RCA male
