Transcription: To remove nitrogen from their body tissue, the astronauts pre-breathe 100 percent oxygen for one hour at normal cabin pressure, after which cabin pressure is lowered for 12 to 24 hours. The crew members then don their EMUs, continuing to breathe pure oxygen for an additional 40 minutes before depressurizing the airlock and exiting the spacecraft.
