Transcription: Following its completion on September 17th, 1975, the Enterprise was put through a series of tests in order to assess the orbiter's systems and flight characteristics. These tests included a series of first unmanned and then manned captive flight tests with the orbiter mounted piggyback atop a Boeing 747 jet. The Enterprise matched expectations of structural flight worthiness in the subsequent manned free flight tests performed in 1976.
