Transcription: The Arabsat communication satellite was successfully deployed by Discovery's crew under the watchful eye of Saudi Arabian payload specialist Sultan Al-Saud. Like other satellites, Arabsat was attached to a PAM-D or Payload Assist Module. After deployment, the PAM-D provided the power to boost the satellite into its final orbit. Once Arabsat reached its calculated path, two solar wings unfolded. These panels were then oriented toward the Sun to sustain the satellite's orbit by solar power.
