  1. Welcome!

  3. If you have no idea what StartMenu is, take a look at the "ScreenShot.iff"
  4. file.  Thanks to Ashley Powell for the picture!

  6. There are two (2) ways to install StartMenu:
  7.  
  8.     1.  If you already have v1.0 then use the Install_Update script.  This
  9.         will delete some files that are no longer used and will also convert
  10.         your old start.pref file.  The v1.0 pref file is not compatible with
  11.         v2.0!! However, the installer script will update it so that it will
  12.         be compatible.
  13.         Also, if you were starting StartMenu from the s:user-startup file,
  14.         you can change this if you want as the new version of StartMenu will
  15.         run from the WBStartup drawer.

  17.     2. If this is the first time you are using StartMenu use the Install_New
  18.        script.
  19.  
  20. You must use one of the supplied install scripts! This is because there are
  21. two different versions of the "main.pref" file (one for pre-OS 3.0 users and
  22. one for OS 3.0+ users).  The install script will install the correct version!
  23.  
  24. StartMenu does not create any assigns or anything, so uninstalling StartMenu
  25. is very simple - just delete the StartMenu directory.
