  6. This file contains information for NOVA Version 1.0, which
  7. is not detailed in the User's Manual.  The User's Manual is
  8. contained in the NOVA.DOC file which you may print out. If
  9. you encounter any problems installing NOVA, please read

  18. of NOVA.

  20. Installing NOVA
  21. ---------------
  22. The installation of NOVA is as simple as unzipping all the
  23. files into the directory of the disk intended for NOVA.  If
  24. you are installing to a 360k floppy disk, unzip the
  25. documentation file contained in NOVADOC.ZIP to a seperate
  26. disk.  The documentation file is not needed to run NOVA.

  28. Setting screen size and monochrome mode
  29. ---------------------------------------
  30. Some video adaptors do not report screen size properly via
  31. their BIOS.  If the screen appears to be drawn improperly
  32. (the status line is not visible at the bottom of the screen,
  33. or dialog boxes are not centered on the screen), add the
  34. following line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

  36.                SET NOVASCREEN=80,25
  37.  
  38. You can enter a different value for the number of columns
  39. or rows if your screen size is not the standard 80 columns
  40. by 25 rows.

  42. If you are using a monochrome display with a color adaptor,
  43. NOVA's screen colors may not be right for you.  You can
  44. add the following line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

  46.                SET NOVAMONO=TRUE
  47.  
  48. This will force NOVA into monochrome mode regardless of
  49. your video adaptor.

  51. Printer Drivers
  52. ---------------
  53. To reduce the size of the shareware distribution files, NOVA
  54. comes with several pre-installed printer drivers that should
  55. meet the needs of virtually all users.  If the printer you
  56. have can not use one of the pre-installed printers you can
  57. delete the NOVA.PDB file and the program will use a default
  58. printer driver that will print on any printer but with
  59. reduced capabilities.

  61. The registered version of NOVA comes with printer drivers
  62. for over 500 printers as well as an install program that
  63. allows specifying the printer port and font cartridges.

  65. Printers supported by the registered version are listed in
  66. the PRNLIST.ZIP file.
