  13.      These files can be  read using the batch  command MAN.   For 
  14. example, to read the VIET document, type:  MAN VIET, then use the 
  15. space key to move forward, and "b" to move back, and "q" to quit.

  17.      The following procedure allows you to print out these files 
  18. for reference.  First, convert these five files to VIET format by 
  19. executing the CONVERT batch command.  This converts the five .DOC 
  20. files to five .VT files.
  21.   
  22.      You can then print the five VT files on a Laserjet series 
  23. or compatible printer using VLASER (see the "About VLASER" screen 
  24. inside VLASER to determine which printers will work), or on a 
  25. dot-matrix printer using VIET (warning: printing all 5 files on a 
  26. dot-matrix printer may take hours).

  28.      Example:  To print MANUAL.VT on a laser printer, type
  29.  
  30.      VLASER MANUAL.VT
  31.  
  32.      The following settings are suggested for VLASER:
  33.  
  34.      Font name:          Courier
  35.      Pitch:              Elite
  36.      Left edge offset:   4.5 cm
  37.      Line spacing:       4mm
  38.      Start at page:      first
  39.      End at page:        last
  40.      First page number:  1              (see note below)
  41.      Top margin:         2.5 cm
  42.      Bottom margin:      2.5 cm
  43.      Print page number:  yes
  44.      Page-number position:  11.3 cm
  45.  
  46.      Note:  you may want to concatenate the documents into a 
  47. single manual by setting the "First page number" to follow the 
  48. page number of the last page of the last document.  For example, 
  49. if the last page number of MANUAL.VT was 5, you may want to set 
  50. this value to 6 for VIET.VT.

  52.      To print these files on a dot-matrix printer, the 
  53. suggested values for VIET (on 8.5" x 11" fan-fold paper) is 
  54.  
  55.      Top margin and Bottom margin :  experiment to find the right 
  56.           values for your printer (Bottom margin minus Top margin 
  57.           should equal 54)
  58.      Page length = 66
  59.      Page number collumn = 32
  60.      Page numbering = yes
  61.      Starting page number = see note above
  62.      Page offset = experiment and find the right value for your 
  63.                     printer and paper feed.
