  7.       Getting Started:

  9.       After running INSTALL to transfer all program and data files to
  10.       your hard drive, you start the program by typing CT.  If INSTALL
  11.       finds the SBTALKER driver it will generate a batch file name 
  12.       GOCT.bat which will load the SBTALKER driver for you and then 
  13.       start CT.  The SBTALKER will give several verbal instructions and 
  14.       will read the completed story to you.  You are missing a lot of 
  15.       fun if you don't have a Sound Blaster Card.

  34.       version of the CT program (without the shareware notice) and an

  71.       How To Run The Program:

  73.       After starting the program, you will see a Welcome Screen that
  74.       tells you a little about the program.  Before you can perform any
  75.       word substitutions you will need to load a story file.  Select
  76.       the (L)oad option from the menu bar either with the mouse or by
  77.       pressing the letter "L".  A file loading screen will appear
  78.       listing all of the story files found on disk, in the CT program
  79.       directory.  You can select a story file by pressing the letter
  80.       beside the story file name or use the mouse to click on the name.

  82.       Once the story file is loaded you will be shown, and told
  83.       verbally if you have a Sound Blaster, how many substitutions of
  84.       each word type are required.  You can select any of the word
  85.       types from the menu bar by pressing any of the following keys or
  86.       by clicking on the menu bar with the mouse:

  88.            (N)oun   p(R)onoun   (V)erb   (A)dverb   ad(J)ective

  94.       Enter the required number of words for each word type.  After all
  95.       words are entered you will be able to read the story with your
  96.       words substituted for the original words.

  98.       If you wish to edit your word list, then select the word type,
  99.       like (N)oun, from the menu bar and make your changes.

  101.       You can print your new story by selecting the (P)rint option from
  102.       the menu bar. It will be printed on your standard line printer
  103.       attached to your primary line printer port LPT1.

  105.       Selecting se(T)up on the menu bar will allow you to change the
  106.       program options like, Normal or Advanced mode,  Printing Device
  107.       and Sound Blaster Sound Control.  A description of each option
  108.       follows:

  140.       Printing Device:

  142.           (F)ile -  Prints the story to a file named STORY.PNT which
  143.                     can be found in the CT program directory.  If you
  144.                     wish to keep this file and print another to file
  145.                     you will need to change the name STORY.PNT to 
  146.                     something else prior to printing to file again.

  148.           LPT(1) -  Prints the story file to your line printer located
  149.                     on the primary or number one printer port LPT1. 
  150.                     This is the normal printer port for most computer
  151.                     systems.

  153.           LPT(2) -  Prints to the printer located on the second
  154.                     printer port LPT2.
  155.  
  156.           LPT(3) -  Prints to the printer located on the third 
  157.                     printer port LPT3.

  163.       Sound Blaster:
  164.  
  165.           (N)o -   Sound Blaster options are turned OFF.  This
  166.                    includes both the Sound Effects and the
  167.                    SB Talker.

  170.           (Y)es -  Sound Blaster options are turned ON.  The program
  171.                    must be able to find and load the CTVDSK.DRV driver
  172.                    for the sound effects to work.  The SB Talker
  173.                    driver must be loaded prior to starting the CT
  174.                    program for the talker to read the story to you.
  175.                    Refer to your Sound Blaster manual for how to load
  176.                    the SB Talker driver.

  186.       Command Line Switches:
  187.  
  188.           There are several command line switches that can be used
  189.           when you start the program.  These options are listed below.  
  190.           All of the switches start with a "/" and are separated by a 
  191.           space if more than one is used.

  194.               /S  -  Sound OFF                (Default Sound ON)

  196.               /A  -  Advanced Mode OFF        (Default Advanced ON)

  198.               /F  -  Print To File STORY.PNT

  200.               /1  -  Print To LPT1            (Default Printing Device)
  201.               /2  -  Print To LPT2

  222.                computer, you can use the  /S  switch to keep CT from
  223.                trying to load the drivers and displaying error messages
