- -History-
-
- "Helical" was developed to fill the need for a quick and accurate
- determination of the physical dimensions and feasibility of a Helical
- Resonator filter design. Originally published in the July 1985 issue
- of RF Design and written for the TI-99/4A computer this, the second
- version, has been written for the IBM-PC and compatibles employing
- MS-DOS 2.1 .
-
-
- -Description-
-
- Equipped with the following inputs: operating frequency, resonator
- impedance, number of poles and impedance of the output tap, "Helical"
- will yield: coil length, coil diameter, wire diameter (min & max),
- number of turns, wire spacing, shield diameter or square shield width
- (= 20% of dia.), shield length, unloaded Q, tap location and insertion
- loss of up to seven poles of Butterworth response.
