  2.                RELAYNET(TM) INFORMATION AND MESSAGE EXCHANGE

  5.         Relaynet(tm) is one of the oldest national networks.  We
  6.         support over 190 conferences with over 375 boards throughout
  7.         the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Middle East.  The activity
  8.         level of our conferences produce between 800K and 1.2 meg of
  9.         mail daily (the amount of mail you receive daily of course
  10.         depends on the number of conferences your board relays
  11.         daily.) Our topics range from product and software support
  12.         sponsored by authors to current events, political
  13.         discussions, an on-line AA meeting, hardware support such as
  14.         USR, Ashton-Tate, Iomega and Harddisks and we also have small
  15.         amounts of exchanged mail with MediaNet, MetroLink and
  16.         QLink.

  18.         With a two node 386 stand alone system running v.32 modems as our
  19.         NetHub, Regional Hubs do not have to compete with BBS users
  20.         for mail transfers.  Many of us are pc-pursuitable and allow
  21.         transfers at 2400 as well as higher speeds.  A dependable
  22.         back up system is in place in case of NetHub failure (such as
  23.         an already experienced tornado!).  For those of you who are
  24.         Hayes oriented - we offer a v.42 19,200 Hayes modem access as
  25.         well.  With an established Super Regional System we offer
  26.         even more flexibilty for mail transfer.  Super Regional
  27.         systems are committed to three daily transfers and stand
  28.         alone night time transfer setups.

  30.         We use the best networking software available with mail
  31.         turnaround times potentially of less than one day!

  33.         We consider ourselves a social network, with an open
  34.         structure. Our requirments for joining are small - an
  35.         interest in networking with 375 other boards across the
  36.         world, a willingness to join in and help where necessary and
  37.         contribute to the conferences that YOU enjoy reading,
  38.         ownership of PCRelay software and a small membership fee.

  40.         Because we have a wide spread regional hub system you are
  41.         probably fairly close to any one of our 50+ regional hubs
  42.         across the country and Europe. Each one of them would be more
  43.         than happy to provide you access as a node, or you can call a
  44.         Super Regional hub system directly if you choose to be a hub.

  46.         There are a few rules to be followed:

  48.         1) Aliases are not permitted (except in designated conferences)
  49.         but sysop-permitted-benign-aliases for whatever reason the
  50.         sysop decides (such as Joe Green) are of course no concern of
  51.         the network.

  53.         2) All nodes must take one conference - the COMMON conference
  54.         so that any user is able to reach any other user in the
  55.         network. With over 375 boards we want our users to be able to
  56.         quickly find a common link from board to board.
