  1. In a recent message I saw someone inquiring about FT727 mods.  Here is
  2. a file that I recieved one day.....

  10. Modification for extended coverage. (This will work for both the old
  11. and new CPU versions)

  13.     -Remove the battery pack
  14.     -locate the RAM backup switch according to your manual ( this
  15.      will be the switch FARTHEST away from the battery terminals)
  16.     -Turn the switch off, count to 4, then turn it back on
  17.     -Relace the battery pack
  18.     -Turn the rig on. The readout should be entirely blank. If it
  19.      is not, you probably did not wait long enough before turning
  20.      the    switch back ON, so repeat the above procedure.
  21.     -Type in the following:  " 001111 "
  22.     -The rig should now come to life.  You will have to reprogram
  23.      all  the  memories as well as the repeater splits  for  both
  24.      bands.  The display will now cover 100-199,  400-499MHz, but
  25.      it  obviously won't work over this range.  Mine covers  139-
  26.      160,  420-460.  The reset code will be " 007777" ( I haven't
  27.      tried it)
