- MkUti Fido-style NetMail Instructions
-
- NetMail messages may now be entered via MegaMail while using
- the MkUti drivers. Proper checks are done to assure that the
- user has sufficient credit for the message with proper updates
- when NetMail messages are entered.
-
- Since MegaMail wasn't designed to handle Netmail some special
- procedures were needed in order to determine the proper netmail
- address and flags. This was done using the Subject line of the
- message (to ease replies where the subject will be already set
- to the originating address). The Subject line should contain
- a valid netmail address starting with an "@' and optionally
- followed by one or more flags. The flags supported are:
-
- CRASH - makes the message a crash message
- IMM - makes the message an immediate message
- DIR - makes the message a direct message.
-
- Partial addresses are supported based on the address of the
- Bbs itself. For example if the Bbs is 1:110/290, the following
- examples will work as shown:
-
- @1:110/280 - sends message to 1:110/280 as a normal msg
- @1:151/223 IMM - sends message to 1:151/223 as an immediate msg
- @151/223.5 - sends message to 1:151/223.5
- @270 CRASH - sends message to 1:110/270 as a crash msg
- @.1 - sends message to 1:110/290.1
-
- If you have trouble remembering the allowed formats, it may be
- easiest to just always use the full address as shown in the
- first example.
-
- If you wish to have a "normal" subject on the message, just
- start the first message text line with SUBJ: and the rest of
- the line will be copied to the subject line.
-
- Because of security concerns, file attaches are NOT allowed.
- File requests are also NOT supported.
