  20. Join in and climb the DX PacketCluster ladder!  SHOW/LADDER [call] will
  21. display the DXCC status for that user, provided that user has entered
  22. data into the LADDER database.  You may enter your DXCC status by typing
  23. UPDATE/LADDER and following the prompts.

  25. Type SHOW/LADDER UPDATE, to view the prompts and what data you will need
  26. available to enter.  Type SHOW/LADDER FR0G to display a sample entry.

  31. PRIMARY SERVING NODE:
  32. ---------------------
  33. To install LADDER, load the following files into your PACKCLUS\DB directory:
  34.  
  35.    LADDER.LIS    Shown to user if no argument used with SH/LADDER
  36.    LADDER.FUL    The database file
  37.    LADDER.IDX    The database index
  38.    LADDER.NF     Shown to user if requested information not found
  39.    LADDER.AOK    File to limit updates to specific user
  40.    LADDER.Tnn    Template files.  Prompts shown to user during an
  41.                  update session.  There are 16 plus LADDER.TE (ending).
  42.  
  43. NOTE:  The database index may not always be included.  If it is missing,
  44.        you will need to perform the following using the MAKEIDX utility:
  45.  
  46.        MAKEIDX LADDER.FUL 300
  47.  
  48. Next, add the following lines to your SYSOP.DAT file:
  49.  
  50. SET/COMMAND LADDER LADDER.LIS LADDER.FUL/LADDER.IDX * * LADDER.NF
  51. SET/COMMAND/COMMENT LADDER  PacketCluster User DXCC Ladder of Success
  52.  
  53. If you did not shut down the node to install the database, type in the
  54. above two lines as SYSOP commands.
  55.  
  56. After reviewing the DOC files, PBT_DB.DOC and LADDER.DOC, you may delete them
  57. from your database directory.  You should store the database ZIP file in a
  58. save place.
  59.  
  60. REMOTE NODE:
  61. ------------
  62. Other nodes may access the database from the SERVING node by adding lines
  63. to their SYSOP.DAT and/or typing in the lines as a command.  If the callsign
  64. of the node where the database is installed is WB6EXC, then the other nodes
  65. would execute the following commands:
  66.  
  67. SET/COMMAND LADDER * * * * * WB6EXC
  68. SET/COMMAND/COMMENT LADDER  PacketCluster User DXCC Ladder of Success
  69.  
  70. In addition, all template files as indicated above should also be added
  71. to the PACKCLUS\DB directory.

  73. CLUSTER COMPANION:
  74. ------------------
  75. Users of Cluster Companion should install the database following the same
  76. procedure as PRIMARY SERVING NODE above, but observing the proper directory
  77. and callsign entries for that user.
  78.  
  79. PCDB:
  80. -----
  81. Users of the PacketCluster Database Reader program should install the
  82. database files into the directory shown in the SET/DIRECTORY line of their
  83. SYSOP.DAT file.  If no entry, install in same directory where PCDB resides.
  84. The following command in SYSOP.DAT should be entered:

  86. SET/COMMAND LADDER #LIS LADDER.FUL/LADDER.IDX * * #NF
