  3. Do not turn TRACE ON when operating PACKET. There appears to
  4. be a bug in Oct 89 ROM version. PAKTERM aborts with a
  5. "link error" message. TRACE works fine in the Dumb Terminal
  6. mode.

  8. TRACE may or maynot be a problem with the older ROM revisions.
  9.  
  10. For those who want technical details; in host mode, the
  11. PK sends a ^A followed by a control byte before sending
  12. any data. When TRACE is turned on , the PK232 does not sent
  13. these two bytes before sending the hex dump information.
  14. Consequently, PAKTERM can not determine what is being sent
  15. by the PK232 and aborts with a link error.

  20. Calling an external file transfer program, calling an external FAX program
  21. or changing the baud rate/com port # may cause the PK-232 to lose any
  22. and all PakMail messages that maybe stored in the PK-232 !
