When OFF, the PK-232 will only handle traffic addressed to your callsign. .1 8BITCONV ON/OFF Mode: PACKET ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ 8BITCONV permits packet transmission of 8-bit data in CONVERSE mode. When 8BITCONV is OFF, the 7th bit (high order bit) is stripped before the characters are transmitted in a packet. .2 ACKPRIOR ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, The packet priority scheme (by Eric Gustafson) is implemented. When OFF, this features is disabled. .3 AUDELAY n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ AUDELAY specifies the delay in 10 mS intervals between keying the transmitter and the start of AFSK audio tones. n can be from 0 to 120. .4 ALFPACK ON/OFF Mode: ALL ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, ALFPACK adds a <LF> to outgoing packets following a <CR>. When OFF, a <LF> is not added to outgoing packets after a <CR>. .5 AX25L2V2 ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When AX25L2V2 is ON, the PK-232 uses the AX.25 Level 2 Ver 2.0 protocol. When OFF, the PK-232 uses the AX.25 Level 2 Ver 1.0 protocol. .6 AXDELAY n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ AXDELAY specifies the length of time the PK-232 will wait (in addition to TXDELAY) after keying the transmitter but before sending any data. n can be between 0 and 180. n is in 10 mS intervals. This delay may be necessary for operation through voice repeaters. .7 AXHANG n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ AXHANG specifies the 'hang time' in 100 mS intervals for voice repeaters. n can be from 0 to 20. .8 BBSMSGS ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, The PK-232 status messages look like TAPR-style messages. Some status messages will be suppressed, others may be changed. When OFF, messages are displayed normally. Consult your PK-232 manual to see which messages are changed or suppressed. .9 CASEDISP n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ CASEDISP 0.. Characters are displayed as is. CASEDISP 1.. Characters are displayed as lower case ONLY. CASEDISP 2.. Characters are displayed as upper case ONLY. CASEDISP has NO effect on the transmitted data. .10 CHECK n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ CHECK specifies the timeout value in 10 mS intervals. n can be between 0 and 250. 0 disables this function. If AX25L2V2 is ON and packets have not been received from the connected station, the PK-232 sends a 'check packet' to test the link. If AX25L2V2 is OFF, the PK-232 does not test the link but will attempt to re-connect if RELINK is ON. If RELINK is OFF, the PK-232 will attempt a disconnect. .11 CHCALL ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the callsign of distant stations IS displayed during multiple connect operation. When off, the callsign is NOT displayed. .12 CMDTIME n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ CMDTIME specifies the timeout value in the TRANSPARENT mode in 100 mS intervals. n can be between 0 and 250. .13 CMSG ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the CTEXT message is sent after a connection is established. When OFF, the CTEXT message is NOT sent. .14 CBELL ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, 3 bells (CTRL-G) are sent to the terminal along with the *** CONNECTED to <callsign> message. 3 bells are also sent along with the *** DISCONNECTED message. When OFF, just the message is sent. .15 CONSTAMP ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, connect messages are time stamped. When off, the messages are NOT time stamped. .16 CPACTIME ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the packet transmit timer IS used in CONVERSE mode. When OFF the packet transmit timer is NOT used. PACTIME controls the periodic transmission of packets while in CONVERSE mode. .17 DAYSTAMP ON/OFF Mode: ALL ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the date is also included in with the time if CONSTAMP is also ON. When OFF, the date is NOT included. .18 DWAIT n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ DWAIT specifies the wait time in 10 mS intervals after last hearing data on the present channel. n can be between 0 and 250. DWAIT is necessary because digipeated packets are not "retried" by the digi but are always restarted by the originating station. Consult your PK-232 manual for the recommending settings for digis, PBBS and file transfers. .19 FRACK n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ FRACK determines the frame acknowledgement timeout interval in 1 S increments. n can be between 1 and 15. FRACK is the time your PK-232 will wait for of the last sent protocol frame before resending that frame. .20 FULLDUP ON/OFF Mode: ALL ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, full duplex mode is ENABLED, the DCD signal is ignored and packets are ACK'd individually. When OFF, full duplex mode is disabled and the DCD signal is used to avoid collisions. The PK-232 will ACK multiple packets with a single ACK. .21 HBAUD n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ HBAUD sets the packet baud rate between stations. n can be 300, 1200, 2400, 4800 or 9600 baud. .22 HEADERLN ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the packet header is printed on a different line than the data. When OFF, both the header and the data are displayed on the same line. .23 HID ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the PK-232 sends HDLC identification as a digipeater. When OFF, no HDLS identification is sent. HID activates/deactivates automatic periodic transmission of identification packets when operating as a digi. The interval timing is 9.5 minutes. .24 ILFPACK ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the PK-232 ignores all <LF> characters received from the computer. When OFF, all <LF> characters received are transmitted. .25 MAILDROP ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, MAILDROP, the personal Packet BBS feature is enabled. Third party traffic is not accepted unless 3RDPARTY is ON. The PK-232 will not forward mail and only accepts incoming mail. The PK-232 uses a subset of the W0RLI/WA7MBL packet BBS commands. When OFF, your PK-232 operates as a normal TNC. .26 MAXFRAME n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ MAXFRAME sets the upper limit on the number of unacknowledged packets your PK-232 permits on the link at any time. n can be between 1 and 7. MAXFRAME also sets the maximum number of contiguous packets your PK-232 will send during any given transmission. .27 MBELL ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the PK-232 will send 3 bell characters (ASCII $07) to the terminal when a packet is displayed. When OFF, this function is disabled. .28 MCON n Mode: PACKET ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ MCON sets the monitor level while connected. MCON is similar to MONITOR. n=0... Monitoring is disabled while connected. n=1....Only UI frames are displayed. n=2....Numbered I frames are also displayed. N=3....C and D frames are also displyed. n=4....Unnumbered UA frames are also displayed. n=5....RR, RBR, RJ, FRMR and I frames are also displayed. n=6....Poll/Final Bit and Sequence numbers are also displayed. .29 MDIGI ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, I and UI frames having your call as the next digipeater are displayed whether or not you are connected or disconnected. When OFF, MONITOR determines what is displayed. .30 MDMON ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When MDMON is ON, the activity on your mailbox can be monitored. Packet headers are not shown. When OFF, your PK-232 monitors Packets as normal. .31 MID Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ MID specifies the MORSE ID timing in 10 S intervals. n can be from 0 to 250. When n=0, the MORSE ID function is disabled. If HID is ON, a HDLC ID will be transmitted, but the MORSE ID will be sent first. .32 MONITOR n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ MONITOR specifies the monitoring level while not connected. n=0...All packets are not shown. n=1...Only unnumber UI frames are displayed. n=2...Numbered I frames are also displayed. n=3...C and D frames are also displayed. n=4...UA are also shown. n=5...RR, RNR, RJ, FRMR, and I frames are also displayed. n=6...Poll/Final Bit and Sequence numbers are also displayed. .33 MPROTO ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, non-ASCII packets from level 3 switches and network nodes are suppressed. When OFF, these packets are displayed. NET/ROM frames contain control characters which you may not want to display. .34 MRPT ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, digipeaters are shown in the header and stations heard directly are marked with an *. When OFF, only the originating and destination stations are shown in the header. .35 MSTAMP ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, monitored frames are time stamped. When OFF, monitored frames are NOT time stamped. .36 MYALIAS call Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ MYALIAS specifies your alternate callsign. PAKTERM accepts up to 10 characters for your alternate callsign. .37 MYCALL call Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ MYCALL specifies your callsign. This parameter must be specified before Packet operation. PAKTERM accepts up to 10 characters for your callsign. .38 PACLEN n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ PACLEN specifies the maximum length of a data packet. n can be between 0 and 255 (0 is the same as 256). Reduce PACLEN to 64 or 32 if operating conditions get difficult. .39 PASSALL ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the PK-232 will accept packets with invalid CRCs. When OFF, the PK-232 will only accept packets with valid CRCs. .40 PERSIST n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ PERSIST works with SLOTTIME to achieve true p-persistent CMA. n specifies the threshold value for a random-number attempt to transmit. n can be between 0 and 255. Consult your PK-232 manual for more information. .41 PPERSIST ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, PPERSIST uses PERSIST and SLOTTIME parameters in executing p-persistent CSMA. When OFF, the PK-232 uses DWAIT for TAPR-1 persistent CSMA. Consult your PK-232 manual for more information. .42 RELINK ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the PK-232 will automatically attempt to reconnect with another station after the link has timed out on retries. When OFF, this function is disabled and no attempt is made to re-establish the link. .43 RESPTIME n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ RESPTIME specifies the minimum delay in 100 mS intervals before your PK-232 acknowledges packets. n can be 0 to 250. .44 RETRY n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ RETRY specifies the maximum number of packet retries before the link is disconnected. n can be 0 to 15. .45 SLOTTIME n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ SLOTTIME specifies the time interval during which the PK-232 waits between generating a random number to see if it can transmit the packet. n can be between 0 and 250. SLOTTIME works with PPERSIST and PERSIST. .46 SQUELCH ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, your PK-232 responds to positive going squelch voltages. When OFF, the PK-232 responds to negative going squelch voltages. .47 TRACE ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the trace function is activated and all received frames are displayed in their entirety including the header info. When OFF, this feature is disabled. .48 TRIES n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ TRIES specifies the current RETRY level on the selected channel. n can be betwen 0 and 15. .49 TXDELAY n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ TXDELAY specifies the time in 10 mS intervals after the PTT line is pulled but before a packet frame data is send to the radio. n can be 0 to 250. If the distant station's AGC has a slow recovery time, increasing TXDELAY may reduce retries and improve throughput. .50 USERS n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ USERS specifies the number of concurrent connections that can be established. n can be between 0 and 10. 0 allows connections on any free channel, 1 allows connections on channel 0 only. 2 allows connections on channels 0 and 1 and so forth. .51 VHF ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the PK-232 is set for VHF operation. When OFF, the PK-232 is set for HF operation. .52 WHYNOT ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, a terse messages explaining why a packet was not displayed is printed on the screen. When OFF, the function is disabled. .53 XMITOK ON/OFF Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the PTT line is active. When OFF, the PTT line is disabled. .54 BEACON EVERY/AFTER n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ BEACON sets the condition under which a packet beacon is sent EVERY.. sends the beacon at the regular internal n. AFTER.. sends the beacon after n seconds of no activity. n can be between 0 and 250, 0 turns off the beacon. BTEXT contains the beacon message. n should be greater than 90 if a beacon is to be sent. .55 PACTIME EVERY/AFTER n Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ PACTIME is always used in TRANSPARENT Mode and used in CONVERSE mode if CPACTIME is ON. When EVERY, the data you type is packetized every n* 100 mS. When AFTER, the data you type is packetized when input from the terminal has stopped for n*100 mS. n can be 0 to 250. When n=0 means packets are sent with 0 wait time. .56 MFILTER n_list Mode: Packet ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ MFILTER specifies ASCII characters that are to be filtered from the incoming data. Up to 4 characters can be specified. n can be from 0 to $7F. When n=$80, all characters in the range of $80 thru $FF as well as control characters are filtered out except for <CR>, <LF> and <TAB>. .57 ABAUD n Mode: ASCII ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ ABAUD specifies the baud rate at which your PK-232 sends the data to the other station. n can be 45, 50, 57, 75, 100, 110, 150, 200 or 300. .58 ADELAY n Mode: AMTOR ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ ADELAY specifies the time in 10 mS increments between the time the PK-232 activates the PTT line and ARQ data begins to flow to the transmitter. n can be between 1 and 9. .59 ACRRTTY n Mode: BAUDOT/ASCII ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ ACRTTY sends a RETURN after n characters are typed. n specifies the number of characters transmitted before the RETURN is automatically added. If n=0, the function is disabled. .60 AFILTER ON/OFF Mode: ALL ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the ASCII characters specified in MFILTER are filtered out and never displayed on the terminal. When OFF, characters in MFILTER are filtered from monitored packets. .61 ALFRTTY ON/OFF Mode: BAUDOT/ASCII ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ALFRTTY is ON, a <LF> is added and transmitted following each <CR> typed. When OFF, no <LF> is added. .62 ARQTMO n Mode: AMTOR ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ ARQTMO sets the length of time the ARQ SELCAL is sent before shutting off the transmitter if there is no reply to the ARQ. n can range from 0 to 250 seconds. .63 CCITT ON/OFF Mode: BAUDOT ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON , characters typed are translated into CCITT International Telegraph Alphabet #2 before being sent. When OFF, the characters remain in the American standard BAUDOT format (Western Union). .64 CODE n Mode: BAUDOT ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ CODE specifies a code from the list below n=0...International n=1...US teleprinter n=2...Cyrillic n=3...Transliterated Cyrillic n=4...Katakana n=5...Transliterated Katana .65 CRADD ON/OFF Mode: BAUDOT ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, the sequence <CR><CR><LF> is sent in response to a <CR> being typed. When off, <CR><LF> is sent. CRADD has no affect on received data. .66 DIDDLE ON/OFF Mode: BAUDOT/ASCII ═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ When ON, if the no characters are being typed, the PK-232 sends the LTRS character. In ASCII, the PK-232 sends NULLs.
