  2. TS-940 Control is a software package written to allow easy
  3. computer control of various TS-940S Transceiver functions.
  4. Control is performed via the RS-232 Serial Port in the computer
  5. and the IF-232C/IF-10B Interface Kit in the TS-940S Transceiver.

  8. Equipment Required:
  9.  
  10. (1) TS-940S Transceiver with IF-232C & IF-10B Interface Kit.
  11. (2) PC-Compatible Computer with 384K (RAM) or more.
  12. (3) DOS (Version 2.1 or higher).
  13. (4) CGA, EGA, or VGA.  (A Color Monitor is recommended).
  14. (5) Mouse (Optional but recommended), Microsoft Compatible.

  17. Getting Started:
  18.  
  19. (1) This SHAREWARE version is distributed in a .ZIP Compressed format.
  20. (2) After you UNZIP the files you should have:
  21.             README.1st  - 3097 Bytes
  22.             SET-UP.exe  - 106252 Bytes
  23.             940CTRL.exe - 158280 Bytes
  24.  
  25. (3) Type SET-UP to begin the software installation.
  26.     Use the TAB Key to move the Cursor, and the ENTER Key to make selections
  27.     if not using a mouse.
  28.  
  29.     This software uses these Serial Port Addresses:
  30.                                                    COM1: - 3F8h
  31.                                                    COM2: - 2F8h
  32.                                                    COM3: - 3E8h
  33.                                                    COM4: - 2E8h
  34. Note:
  35.      The TS-940S normally operates at 4800 Baud.
  36.      Some users have modified their TS-940S Rigs to operate at 9600 Baud,
  37.      so this option has been made available in this software.

  39.      This completes the software installation.

  41. (4) Make sure the you have the Computer and Transceiver cabled together properly.
  42.  
  43. (5) Turn on the IF-232C & Transceiver.
  44.  
  45. (6) Type 940CTRL to run the software.
  46.     
  47. (5) If no error messages appear, a screen will appear showing the current
  48.     state of the TS-940S Controls.
  49.  
  50. Note:
  51.      These keys will allow you to control menu selections and you may find
  52.      that these keys control similar functions in other software.
  53.  
  54.      ALT Key    - Press down until Menu Bar at top of screen Highlights.
  55.      ARROW Keys - Press to move to between menus or change selections.
  56.      TAB Key    - Press to move between selections.
  57.      SPACE BAR  - Press to make a selection.
  58.      ESC Key    - Press to cancel a Menu.
  59.      ENTER Key  - Press to make a selection.

  61. (6) Mouse users will have the fastest and easiest control of the software.
  62.     To select a menu:
  63.     Place the Cursor on the title, then press and hold the left mouse button
  64.     until the menu appears.
  65.     Move to any item and press the left mouse button to make the selection.
  66.  
  67. (7) The screen updates in 1 second intervals while it constantly monitors the
  68.     functions that are displayed on the screen.
  69.  
  70. (8) The REGISTERED Software version ($25) allows control over many more features
  71.     of the TS-940S Transceiver. (Memories, VBT, SLOPE TUNE, RIT, and more.)

  73. (9) This software is only for PC-Compatibles and TS-940S Transceivers.
