  76. Let's make this a joint effort between Shinoda-san and Brad,
  77. with participation from Herman and Phil in Amsterdam (please
  78. cc us all on not-park so we know what is happening).

  80. A manual switch of the primary place is the first step.  Next
  81. is to put in the engineering we had discussed previously that
  82. allows a hot swap between the two.  The only things that
  83. appear tricky are:
  84. <P>    1) DNS (point to the right place and don't point to a down machine)    2) Guestbook and updates (town is currently the master on this)    3) Proper redirects at the bandwidth.cgi level
  85. <P>
  86. I think getting this to work properly would be a very good
  87. enhancement to the park.  In an ideal world, we could even
  88. have Japan and Town loadbalance for each other.  
  89. <P>
  90. Deadline of May 25 on this one.  Do you folks want to shoot for
  91. a hotstage test a week before?  If you want to automate after
  92. the manual test, that is fine, or we can wait a month or so.
  93. Either way, I think having full dual-site primary by the end
  94. of June would be a good target to shoot for.

  96. Remember, I'm starting to write this all up for an article.  I
  97. want to be able to say we do more than put a bunch of disks on
  98. machines and use ftpmirror (with all due respect to the wonderful
  99. work that Lee has done on ftpmirror :).
