  3. Q:  "Why no PC Speaker or LPT DAC sound options?"
  4. A:  Because the nature of 16-bit protected mode would royally clash with
  5.     such stringent timing routines.  (For instance, the music routine is
  6.     called, on average, about 70 times a second to mix the music.  A PC
  7.     Speaker or DAC with a reply rate of 8000Hz would require that same routine
  8.     to be called 8000 times a second, which, on slow machines, locks up the
  9.     computer.)

  11. Q:  "Why the epilepsy warning?"
  12. A:  Because Trixter freaked out when he saw a news report about epileptic
  13.     teenagers going into seizures in dance halls because of strobing effects.
  14.     Besides, we wouldn't want to be liable for anything.  ;-)

  16. Q:  "GRIND doesn't load my music file."
  17. A:  Make sure your music file is supported:  type GRIND -? to see the list
  18.     of supported file formats.  If it isn't listed, contact Trixter to get
  19.     it supported.

  21. Q:  "The music skips during some video effect sequences."
  22. A:  One of three things is happening:
  23.       - Your computer is too slow to mix the sound fast enough.
  24.       - Your video card is *incredibly* slow.  (Trident 8900?)
  25.       - The music file has too many channels (does not apply to GUS)

  27.     In all cases, select a smaller mixing (playback) rate for the music.

  29. Q:  "How the heck did you do this?"
  30. A:  If you have any questions regarding how we did this (or about anything at
  31.     all, really), feel free to contact Trixter (trixter@trxhome.mwc.com) at any
  32.     time.  Here's a couple of blatant hints, however:  The video sequences are
  33.     RLE encoded using Homer's custom algorithm; they are only 4 colors each,
  34.     and they're 32 frames each.

  36. Q:  "Who the hell are you guys, anyway?"
  37. A:  Trixter (Jim Leonard) and Homer (Brian Hirt) met in high school as
  38.     freshmen in 1985.  Both share similar interests in coding, although Homer
  39.     is, in Trixter's opinion, a much better coder.  Both are currently not in
  40.     any group.  (Unless you consider "independent" a group.  ;-)

  42. Q:  "When does Trixter (Jim Leonard) get married?"
  43. A:  August 20th, 1994.

  45. Q:  "Will Trixter be the first married demoscene member?"
  46. A:  We believe so, yes.

  48. Q:  "When will Chromatiks ][ be released?"
  49. A:  Sometime in September, now that ASM 94 is over and Trixter can get some
  50.     graphics made.
