- Using PowerRIP

- First, fire up PowerRIP by typing POWERRIP.

- Configure: If you would like to change any of the defaults, select
- File | Configure.
- To scan files: One you have selected the proper drive, directory, and file,
- click on Scan to probe the files for "ripable material."
- Custom scan: If the material you want was not detected by Scan and you
- know the ID of the file you want, you can Custom Scan for it.
- => See Custom Scanning Reference below for more information.
- Byte rip: If you know the exact bytes you want to rip from a file,
- select the file, and click on Byte Rip.
- Convert files: This has not been implemented yet.
- View files: This has not been implemented yet.
- Exit: When you're done with your rip session, select File | Exit.

- MODs: PowerRIP automatically cleans MODs.
- S3Ms: Load it into Scream Tracker 3, and save it again.
- STMs: Load it into Scream Tracker, and save it again.
- 669s: PowerRIP automatically cleans 669s.
- MTMs: Load it into MultiTracker, and save it again.

- ULTs: Load it into UltraTracker, and save it again.

- After scanning files, when it asks you what file to save it to, check the
- title (listed in parentheses). If it's just a bunch of random garbage, skip
- it -- it's not a ripable file.

- Some crews have purposely removed or changed the I.D. in their demos so the
- music file(s) won't be "ripped" or "stolen" by other programs, and therefore
- cannot be detected by PowerRIP.
